NYC- Thompson Square Park
Thompson Square Park is a small park in the middle of Mutant Town. The benches might need a fresh coat of paint, the fence might be rusted in places and the pavement is raised and has cracks but it's all part of the mutant haven and fairly relaxing. Trees and grassy areas are in between the many paths, there are a few structures and benches along the path as well as a special area of the park that is marked 'the dog walk'.
It's later at night and it's getting dark, there's quite a chill in the air where a jacket is definately necessary. Jeremy is under a tree in the park with his thin blanket wrapped around him, shivering away. He's recently had a fix so at least he isn't suffering from withdrwaal at the moment, just the cold. He doesn't even want to get a cigarette at the moment cause it means moving his hand from the warmth of the blanket.
Cold outside, a brown and black cat comes walking past the park. He stops as he passes a tree, seeing the young man below it. And by the smell of him, he's familiar. Gabriel soon approaches Jeremy and licks his paw. "Hey dere." He says looking at Jeremy.
Jeremy looks up as there's a voice and recognizes the talking cat. "Hello." He says quitely through chattering teeth as he moves to sit up, keeping the blanket as tight around him as possible. "It's cold tnght."
"Jes, it ees. After that weird man took me home, I tought we'd neber meet again." Looking up at Jeremy, Gabriel moves closer. "I have a proposition for joo." He offers up. The cat looking around the area, making sure that he is only heard by Jeremy.
"Weird man took you home?" Jeremy asks sounding confused. "That guy Tim? He wasn't too bad." He didn't mind the slimey kid that much. He looks at his backpack next to him and looks back at the cat. He's accepted some pretty degrading propositions before so he figures this one can't be much worse, but then Gabe's a cat so who knows. "What's this proposition?"
The cat looks up at Jeremy again and nods. "Eff joo get me those boots in that weendoe. I have a warm place for joo to stay in as long as joo need." The proposition is offered and Gabe stops and waits for Jeremy's response.
Jeremy blinks at Gabriel and is quite for a bit as he processes what the cat just said to him. "You want me to steal you some boots, from a closed store, for you?" He's picked pockets, sure, that's no problem, but stealing from a store? "I've never stolen anything from a store and what can you offer me in regards to staying at a place?"
"Steel? No, no. Apparently I have money." Gabe says, chuckling. "I yust cannot enter a store." The cat furrows his brow before continuing on. "What can I offer you? What do joo mean?"
"I mean I know you're not a cat but you don't seem to remember not being a cat so…" Jeremy isn't quite sure. He finally moves a hand out from under his blanket and grabs his backpack to hold aganst his chest as his stomach growls. "You just want me to go into the store and buy you boots? I can do that. I just hope they don't kick me out."
"So…." Gabe continues on, before standing up and starting to move. "Jes, that ees exactly what I want joo to do." Gabe says, looking up and smiling.
"I can do that, when the store is open tomorrow." Jeremy just hopes they don't kick him out beause he's obviously homeless. "I don't know if I can live with you, but I can help you get a pair of boots….why do you want a pair of boots if you're a cat?"
"Because….I must have dem." Gabe says, the conviction in his voice speaks volumes. "Well, at leest stay tonight, ees too cold out here."
"Well, I can get you the boots. That hopefully won't be a problem." Jeremy says as he's not sure if he wants to stay at Gabriel's tonight or not. It takes him a while to think about it before he finally nods. "Okay, just one night, but I can't stay." He's just afraid of admiting to his drug addiction and that someone is going to find out.
"Okay, les go." Gabe says, starting to scamper off towards Central Park. He's happy now he knows he is going to get the boots.
