Xavier Mansion - Observation Deck

Glass windows surround the circular room giving a full view of the school grounds. Two telescopes sit in front of the window for students to looks at the stars. A few comfortable chairs and couches with a few tables are placed up here for students to relax. There's a door off to one of the sides that leads up to the attic above here.

It's Midday when Selene finds herself in the school's observation deck. One of the few places less likely to see daylight-hours foot traffic, she's taking advantage of room's peace and quiet to curl up with a good book. In this case, an ancient leather-bound tome on a subject that's probably of concern only to herself. Sitting on her legs in a large, oversized chair, the 20-something looking sorceress turns a page carefully and continues scanning for information of importance, a thin eyebrow keenly arched.

The elevator opens up and Kenta come walking out, it seems he was looking for someone and he finally found her. He crosses his arms over his chest and looks at Selene, it might be intimidating if he wasn't so short. "So…Selene…I noticed something and I gotta say, I'm a bit curious. You see, you were pretty much at the scene of the incident with Wendigo right after it happened. How'd you get go lucky?"

Selene's eyes leave the page and focus on the teacher standing nearby, "Well, hello to you too, Kenta. Present day? Good, I am glad. And, why yes, you are welcome. After all, without my help your team might have two new opening. Bur enough of the small talk, why are you here?" There's a minor pause in the sarcasm, one that allows her the satisfaction of giving Kenta a smile that matches her tone.

Kenta walks over and sits down in one of the chairs, leaning forward so that his arms rest on his knees. "While I am grateful that you were able to get to, and rescue two of my students." That's about all the thank you she'll probably get from him. He doesn't know Selene like the rest of the school so he wouldn't be as quick to throw her under the bus as some faculty would. "I'm just curious is all, trying to add two and two together, I mean how did you know they were in danger so quickly?"

Selene closes the large book as her legs slide out from under her. Depositing the tome on a nearby end table, she seats herself more formally, taking just a second to straighten out the long, black dress she's wearing today, "I assume you're not 'knowingly' playing emissary for Emma, then?" A look of distaste crosses her face, "No matter. She'll likely ask the same of me later—or just pull the information from your head. So, to be as direct as you were, simply put, James and I are still somewhat connected. The moment he felt real danger, I knew there was something was wrong, when is when I awoke you so that someone with some clout than I could 'rally the troops,' as it were."

"No, I'm not doing this on a mission from Emma…Emma and I, while I respect her as a Headmistress…" Kenta leaves it at that but then he feels the same about Scott. He's not on friendly terms with either of them. He honestly thinks most the staff is too caught up in their own drama to really open their eyes. "Ah so that's it, now this connection, will it allow you to do what you did before to him? And also I don't think he'd very much like finding you two are still connected. As much as it might have saved his life….is there a way to cut the link?"

"This sigil was applied long ago," Selene informs Kenta, "And removal would be easy—if I still had access to all of my arcane knowledge." She shakes her head, "Alas, cruel fate leaves me tethered to your student. However, the faster I regain my abilities, the faster he is freed." Kenta can probably already guess where this is going. "But, until then, the thing acts mostly like a barometer to his soul and did little more than to warn me of the impending danger. Anything else is beyond my present condition." So says she.

Kenta takes a while to respond, mulling things over in his head. "Do you have any plans to confront James and let him know about your…pradicament? I mean right now it let you know when he was in danger, and I'm not complaining about that, but what else are you going to feel down the road? Are you going to start feeling more…personal feelings he has? Is the link going to grow stonger, I mean I don't know much about this but he should at least know. Also, for that matter have you ever considered apologzing to him for what happened?"

A smile can't be helped when Kenta suggests that other feelings might come across the ether. Those types of thoughts, to which, Selene raises a hand, "I must admit, you're much more amusing than I guessed. But, I can't vouch for what I might feel, or not, given I'm not sure how intact the sigil is. But, without my input, it will stay static and not grow—or reduce. However, it could be transferred. If not destroyed outright." Pulling her legs back under her form and leaning into the chair she allows a darker look to cross her face, "Why would I apologize? I did not guide the hand that cast the spear. Everything afterwards was self-defense and desperation. Before that, well, no one was harmed regardless."

"Thanks Selene, I try." Kenta says with a grin in regards to the amusing comment. Why not take it as a compliment. "Okay, I'm glad to hear that it won't grow and what do you mean by transfered?" He's kind of unsure what that means. "Would would happen if this sigil is outright destroyed? And no, you didn't but you made him do stuff he normally wouldn't have. Sometimes an apology helps with closure but then again with James, he might just not care anymore." He's a fickle Hyena.

The question is a simple one. "Why would I need closure?" she asks without through to the others effected, "And if he desires it, he has yet to voice his wishes. Until then, it is nothing that needs my attention." She gives the other questions a little more though before answering, "I doubt that anyone outside of Strange has the ability to destroy the link. But, if so, then nothing really 'happens.' Alternatively, James could be destroyed as well, and the link would, of course fade. Baring that sort of drastic action, or removal, the link could be transferred to another hos—be it human or animal." She waves a hand, "It's not so different than your Hollywood-with familiars."

Kenta just listens to Selene for a bit and in his head he marks her down as 'selfish bitch'. No need to call her that to her face though. "So this transfer, would that destroy him too?" Kenta asks as he's trying to figure out his options in regards to this and what to do. He is going to tell James what Selene told him though. "If a transfer won't destroy him I think we should try to go to that route. Now…the transfer would that mean you're linked to someone else or James is linked so someone else?

Having picked up on the thought, Selene rubs between her eyes for a moment before taking a shallow breath, «Thank you.» Her feet lower to the floor, allowing her to stand and collect her book before making her way towards the elevator, "I'll keep my selfishness in mind the next time I spend time and energy on saving your students whose care and well being are 'your' responsibility." Pressing the button she waits for the door to open, "This is a topic I will speak with Emma about. What you decide to do with the information is of little consequence to me. Good day, Kenta."

Great, she can read minds too, just the perfect people to deal with. "Good day Selene." Is all he says back but there is obvious irriation there, mainly because she didn't answer his last questions and he really wanted to know the answer to that bit but then he's learning she isn't an easy person to deal with. Team player isn't something he'd use when talking about Selene. He just leans back as she leaves and lets out a long sigh once she's gone. "I need a cigarette."
