NYC - Liberty Plaza - Danny's Apartment.
//The room is a living room and kitchen combined, separated by a counter which also serves as the table since it's a small kitchen area on the left with all the necessities. For the most part the dimly lit kitchen area is fairly clean. As for the living room area, everything thing seems to be shoved in the area. A large 'L couch wraps around the back wall and underneath the windows. On the wall above the couch is are two Halo posters tacked on the all without frames along with a Star Wars Empire Strikes Back poster. On the other wall an entertainment center housing a TV, DVD player an various videogame systems. There are dvd's and magazines and cd's sitting on top of the entertainment center and on the coffee table in-between the TV and couch. In one corner of the living room two guitar hero guitars and Rock Band equipment sits. Next to the Entertainment center is a Piano with various piano books and sheet music on top. //
Danny has been resting a bit after their raid on the AIM base. He hasn't even had time to go over what they found. He's been feeling a little under the weather but no fever luckily. What he's really been recovering from is a dislocated shoulder that happened when he was hit out of the sky. It's a bit easier for him now that he's moved into Freedom Force's Headquarters. Danny was watching some television earlier, one of the old Kung Fu Movies, Five Deadly Venoms, when he passed out on the couch.
After a bit, there's a knock on Danny's door. Cole Aron, dressed really casually, is standing outside the door. He went over a lot of what was recovered by the team but all but the basics went mostly over his head. He's no scientist after all. So, since the reports were delivered to Alex, Cole's come to check up on Danny. He's got snacks, geekery, and other randomness with him in his backpack as he waits for Danny to get
to the door.
The knock on the door snaps Danny from his nap. "I'm coming, I'm coming." He mutters in a half-awake state. He answers the door wearing just a pair of jeans, his arm in a sling from recovering. "Oh, hey Cole, come on in." He says with a smile as he steps aside for Cole to enter. "Sorry I dozed off watching a Kung Fu flick."
Cole steps into the room and leans over to place a kiss on Danny's cheek. "Don't worry about it. Are you okay? Arm feeling any better? Sorry again I didn't shield you…" he trails off, feeling guilty about that.
Danny returns the kiss on Cole's check and rubs his arm with his good hand. "Ah'm doin' good Cole, don't worry about it. Ah was up in the air and just got hit. Landed wrong." He says with a yawn as he rubs his kind of messy hair. "How about yer self, ya find anythin' out about how tah get our powers back?"
Cole squirms a little then nods. "Yeah, I picked up a couple things from what we got. Really, I don't understand much of it…but we need a few more of the devices we pickec up from other green things and then flip some kinda energy flow switch and that'll fix it," he says with a shrug. "I gave the stuff to the bossman. Hopefully it'll make more sense to him."
"Ah'm sure he will, Ah'm ready tah get back tah normal." Danny says trying to stifle a small yawn, hey, he just woke up. "Alex's been 'round the block with this hero business more than we have but hey, we'll be awesome soon enough, and Ah still need tah get a costume. Noone'll take a guy callin' himself Sandstone in a pair of workout pants and a t-shirt seriously."
Cole smiles. "Yeah. Bossman's the boss for a reason," he chuckles. When the costume is brought up, Cole nods. "Don't worry. Once your powers get back to normal, I'll take ya down to the guy that made my costume. He does great work."
Danny walks over to the couch area and starts straightening things up with his one good arm. "Sorry it's a bit messy in here, Ah've kinda been lazin' 'round the last day or so." It's bit cluttered but nothing that messy. "Sounds great Cole, thanks a lot." Just then something pounces on Cole's leg and starts to climb up his pant leg, it seems that Mr. Cat wants some attention.
Cole follows Danny and looks around with a grin. "Oh, don't worry about it. My room's way messier," he says. "And you don't gotta thank me," he says. At the pounce, Cole yelps and puts a shield around himself.
Looking around, he lets out a sigh of relief when he sees it's just Mr. Cat. Embarrassed, the shield maker lowers his shield and reaches down to pick up the kitty.
Danny can't help but laugh. "Sorry, he's used to havin' more people 'round. Ah think he gets loney when Ah go tah work sometimes. Since Ah don't have roomates anymore." Once the magazines are stacked up a bit he just watches Cole with Mr. Cat for a bit. "So ya want stick 'round for dinner later, Ah was gonna whip somethin' up."
Cole moves to sit on the couch, petting Mr. Cat. "It's okay. Maybe he could use a friend to hang out with while everyone's away," he muses quietly. When asked about dinner, Cole smiles. "Sure. I'd be happy to. I brought some DVDs we could watch too. And I'll even help whip it up."
"Ah was gonna make some Chicken Fricase tahnight, it's not hard tah make but Ah like it." It's the Southern Cooking that Danny loves. He goes over and sits next to Cole, looking at. Mr. Cat purring away. "Maybe Ah'll give ya a key tah here, or leave the door unlocked, since like there ain't a lot of us, to stop in when ya want. So, what movies did ya bring?"
Cole nods. "Well, I'll still be here to help incase you need an extra hand," he says. When Danny brings up a key, Cole blushes. "That sounds cool…I'll give ya a key to my place to," he says, smiling. When asked about the movies, he starts listing several 'geek classics' as well as a few anime titles and the new animated Star Wars flick."
"Well Ah only got one hand at the moment, so of course Ah'll need it." Danny says with a laugh as he doesn't mind the help at all. He smiles at Cole at the blush reaches over to ruffle his hair. "Ah ain't askin' ya tah move in or anything, though we are neighbors. Anyway, all those sound good. Ah'd be up for watchin' any of 'em."
Cole continues to blush and laughs a bit. "I know, I know," he says. He then nods. "Right. You can pick which one we start off with," he says, carefully shifting Mr. Cat from arm to arm as he takes his backpack off and hands it over.
Danny decides to make Cole blush a bit more. "But ya know you're always welcome tah spend the night, anytime ya want." He leans in to place a soft, quick kiss on Cole's cheek before taking the backpack. "Allright, lets see. Ya gotta make me pick, don't ya. All of them seem good." He looks through the DVD's and holds up one of the anime titles. "Appleseed? Ah ain't seen this one so lets start with this?"
Cole does indeed blush worse. "Well, I um…you can stay over at my place too," he says quietly. He then chuckles a bit. "Well, your place and you're injured so you get dibs," he says. He then grins at the choice. "Sure," he says, taking the DVD and starting to set it up.
"Ya get so shy sometimes Cole." Danny says but then he's a bar tender so he's used to be forward sometimes. He can't help but laugh as he stands up. "Ya wanna coke or something? Water? Ah think Ah got some orange juice." Danny says as he goes to get him and Cole a drink from his kitchenette.
Cole looks at Danny over his shoulder and smiles a bit. "Well…yeah, I'm shy," he admits. "Just kinda…always been shy," he says. "Coke's good as long as it's not diet."
Danny goes to the fridge and grabs two cans of cherry coke and a bag of Trader Joes Kettle Corn popcorn before ploping down next to Cole. "Here ya go Cole." He says sneaking in a kiss as well. "All right, once mah arm's all healed up, Ah gotta look intah takin' ya out on a real date." Danny says as he settles down to watch the movie.
Cole gives Danny a quick kiss as well, sitting back down next to the winged man. "That sounds great," he says, scooting closer to Danny and geting ready to enjoy the movie.
