Xavier Mansion - Kitchen

This kitchen was designed to feed large numbers of people, and looks it with its bright white walls and stainless steel appliances. The stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher are all larger than normal. There is an island with stools around it for people to sit and eat around along with a table for twelve by the windows in back. Along the wall is a hole in the wall looking into the dining room so food can be passed back and fourth. Anything you want to cook or eat in the kitchen you will find the food and supplies to do so.

Jasmine is in the kitchen rushing from between the fridge and one of the counters, on the side is the creation of her latest masterpiece, she has several slices of bread, a wedge of cheese and what looks to be a jar of jam and peanut butter. Currently, she's spreading butter on one of the slices as she whistles to herself.

Classes are over and Kenta has finally had time for his smoke break so coming in from the cold wearing just a sleevles CBGB t-shirt over a pair of jeans. His black markings are clearly visible on his arms and chest as are his solid black eyes. He heads straight for the frige to take out a bottle of water. There's a wave given to Jasmine as he drinks heavily from the bottle and once he's downed half his water he gives her a smile. "Hey, I'm Kenta Gilpatrick. I'm the music teacher here, nice to meet you." He says offering a hand to the taller woman.

Jasmine is midway through cutting the sandwich when she hears someone come into the room, she turns and sees Kenta who waves at her. As he introduces himself, she wipes her hands on the nearby tea towel and strides over to him as she extends her hand to meet his, "Pleasure Mr Gilpatrick" she replies, "I'm Jasmine Locke, the physics and technical drawing/CAD teacher. I've just arrived here at the school". She smiles at him, a warm and welcoming one.

Kenta's hand is quite hold when he shakes Jasmine's hand. "Pleasure to meet you. I remember getting a memo about a new teacher here, you must be her. And please, don't call my Mr. Gilpatrick, just Kenta. Mr. Gilpatrick makes me feel old." He says with a bit of a forced shudder. "I don't think I've ever taken a physics class before." He says with a chuckle.

Jasmine smiles, "Ok, Kenta, you can just call me Jasmine". She smiles and nods, "Ah, well you're welcome to attend one of my classes if you wish, even if its just to see what it's all about". She looks around as she takes in the surroundings, "I have to say that I've never been in a school like this one before, it really is quite impressive".

"If I can between my own classes and taking care of my son, I'll be sure to stop by." Kenta says as he opens up the frige again to look for something to snack on. "I pretty much grew up here I guess. I was a student when I was sixteen, left for a while and came back. They offered me a teaching job and being a single parent with no income I was pretty quick to accept."

Jasmine turns to take a bite of her sandwich which was cheese, peanut butter and jam. She bites into it and swallows, "You must like it here and it must feel like home if you decided to come back". She ponders as she thinks of what to say, "I just hope that the kids here will like me enough to teach them well".

Kenta nods. "Yeah, I do like it here. And with the kids, just don't try to hard. That's what has gotten me into trouble in the past. Trying to hard to be the 'cool' teacher and more friendly. But it's all trial and error for me." He says pushing himself to a sitting position on the counter. "So how are you liking it here so far?"

Jasmine shrugs as she finishes one half, "It's ok so far, I've just been busy with lesson plans so I haven't had a chance to really look around the area". She smiles again, "The kids seem nice to me so far, so I think I'm going to enjoy it here"

"Hope so, I've been a teacher here for quite some time. Just watch out for Maxwell Jordan if you get him. He also goes by Quill, porcupine looking kid. Literally." Kenta begins to warn Jasmine. "He's a bit of a jokester and might think of you as fresh meat. But overall there's a general comraderee around here."

Jasmine nods as she makes a mental note of the name of the pupil, "I think I'll be able to handle him, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out". She starts to eat her second half of her meal. "So any other tips that you've learnt over the years?"

Kenta ponders that last question for a bit. "Enjoy the little things?" He says before chuckling. "Sorry that's Zombieland but anyway, advice…umm..well here's something I fail at, don't be afraid to be the bad guy. And also students love it it you have a cute kid." He says with a laugh.

Jasmine laughs, "I'll try and remember that although I'll think I'll hold up on the kid angle". She then leans against the counter, "I can be the bad guy, when it comes to teaching, I expect everyone to give their best and slacking is not allowed". She looks serious, "I usually find that they can better understand their powers if they understand the underlying basics.

"I teach one of the squads, the Paragons here. It's Marshall whose deaf, Tara whose blind and Megan and Rebecca. It's an interesting team." Kenta says with a chuckle. "Well speaking of my Son, I gotta go pick Armande up from school and then head to my folks place. Nice meeting you Jasmine and look forward to seeing you around."

Jasmine nods, "It's been a pleasure" although I have to ask, "Where do you train?" as he nods, "Well I hope to meet your son soon but take care"

"I train here in the danger room." Kenta says as he gives a final wave. "You too Jasmine, have a good night." He says as he heads to get ready to go into the city to pick up Armande.
