Xavier Mansion - Emma Frost's Office
Miss Frost's office is not as white as one would expect, however it does present an overall theme in the room. Using a classic den/office style structure from the building, the hardwood floor has been mostly covered from entry to desk with a white carpet that has been decorative bordered in an ivy-pattern, with the center having a delicately done floral arrangement. Two plush white leather chairs sit slightly staggered and angled facing a white marble topped desk of dark-stained oak, the Xavier Academy logo in front emblazoned in a polished steel. Atop the desk is materials for physical writing as well as a dual-monitor computer system that seems keyboardless, instead having a single mouse-like interface device. To the right are a pair of striated white marble book-cases filled from top to bottom, in the center of the pair a marble fireplace that burns sedately despite the time or season.
The left wall has a series of file cabinets sitting next to another computer desk, this one with a standard keyboard and mouse with the academy logo floating sedately on the screen. Next to those is a table where mail seems to be laid out next to a carafe of what is either coffee or tea, and a small pile of cookies, which seems to vary day by day. Behind the carafe is a small containers for sugar, fresh cream, and honey.
Behind the desk is a bank of windows facing northwards, running practically from wall to wall, bordered on both sides by silver-embroidered sheer silk cloth, so even when drawn you can make out details outside, and so long as day is present, line pours in to give the room a sense of warmth. For the times when more light is required, it comes from the vaulted office ceiling from a tasteful-looking light and fan combination. Just behind the desk and on the right side is a second door with a hand-print scanner.
Today seems to be the day, and Emma's desk is mysteriously clear of all other materials, instead just a single folder sitting on the center of the white marble desk that has not the school seal on it, but a seal that looks to be from something an official government location. All of her monitors are down or locked away, and not even her PDA is present or could be 'felt' by a technopath, locked into a drawer that has shields against such. Staring at the door… Emma Frost waits patiently and sombrerly.
For the novelty of it Kisha has actually turned up to something on time. Not only that but she's relatively clean and doesn't appear to be carrying anything that could be mistaken for a work in process science project. Unless you count the slightly grubby shoebox which, after she's let herself in with a single announcing knock, she puts down in the middle of Emma's desk. Her eyes flick around the room, taking in the large gaps where office equipment and electronic goods would normally be, and she sighs. "You are aware my range is so short I practically have to touch anything to even begin figuring it out?"
"Yes, Miss Dorogoi, and I am also aware that an environment without distractions is required in this case.", Emma replies in a tone that sounds slightly distant. Looking at the girl for several long moments, she then shakes her head ever so slightly, and says, "It has been almost a month since the statement was issued, and I have been looking at every possible solution for you… and for the school." There's a brief pause as the woman sits back and steeples her fingers together, "The truth is… I do not believe this school can properly handle you. Despite our efforts to try and help discipline and focus your efforts, you continue to do as you will. I have also noted… that you have a lack of empathy, that none of us here can instill properly. As such, the best course of action for you… and for us… has been to affect you a transfer. The Barnes Academy has accepted a request for an early transfer for your… special case."
Kisha tilts her head fractionally. "Special case. The way you phrase this implies my term of study may have additional clauses the other students are not normally subject to," she notes, pushing the shoebox across the table. "Inside you'll find my school phone. I've taken the liberty of scrubbing the data, including my records of you walking around New York with a sword and handgun. I was unsure if you have the proper documentation for concealed carry of such items."
Looking at the box for a moment, her eyebrow arches, and then Emma says, "Thank you… though it was not necessary. Security was well aware of any information in regards to my actions after the fact. I acted poorly during that incident, and it is something I am attempting to manage. Kick is an issue that causes me a particular… myopia." Now her hand comes to rest on the folder and she pushes it towards you, "The terms are that there are classes about ethics and survival that you should, but are not required to take while at Barnes. Their facilities are better prepared for someone like yourself. Better laboratories, easier student access, and a safer overall work environment." Eyes trail to the SHIELD emblem on the folder and then back to the girl before she says, "You are walking a very fine line Miss Dorogoi. One I know far too well. Atrocities, no matter how small, are easily justified in a mind as brilliant as yours. Hence why such brilliance must be tempered with empathy and wisdom. Both of which can only come with time and understanding."
Kisha blinks. "I stabbed a much older and stronger man who had clearly been taking power giving narcotics during a pitched battle with the sole intent of not being taken away for medical experimentation. Think of the precautions you've taken against my ability, would you have honestly been comfortable with it being sold? A scrap of Iron Mans armour and some street drugs. If the potential abuses don't keep you awake with worry you have less empathy than you claim I do." She waves her hand. "But that's beside the point. Providing they don't expect me to sign on with Shield after my studies are complete this isn't something I will object against."
Emma exhales softly, "When you stabbed that man, you pierced his femoral artery, and caused him to bleed out. And it was a conscious act to strike there, not anything done in self-defense. I am well aware of the regimens taught in our classes, and they would have taught you how to break his hold on you, to strike at vulnerable points to make him release you." The final statement however is where her eyes seem to intensify, "And your final statement hits the biggest problem right on the head of the proverbial nail. I do believe that this transfer is a failure on this school's part, but Miss Dorogoi… you hold this place with very little respect. Our rules of conduct are only an inconvenience to you, one to be sidestepped as you like. You seem to feel the world should treat you as an adult. Barnes will treat you as you seem to feel you should be."
"I was aiming for his testicles when he turned to run. Not his artery and I can assure you that I have never given the schools self defence classes more than the slightest moment of my attention," Kisha states with utter sincerity. "Before I pack can I ask a single favor? I have something I'd been working on for…" She snaps her fingers a few times. "Costume girl. She explodes… Her name escapes me. I have been working on an mp3 player case and headphones that could potentially withstand her power. She may not remember but I /did/ say I would try fix them for her."
There's something of a soft smile there as Emma says, "Actually, you will turn in your work to Forge in the garage, and he will finish that. I have him working on some projects… and her name is Miss Morgenstern… or Shane." The file is turned around and put into your hands, while the box wit the phone is taken and put down by the side of Emma's desk in the meantime, "Your transfer is not effective until May 1st. This should give you ample time to pack your things, say your goodbyes, and ensure those who you wish to remain in contact with know where you are. You will always be welcome to visit the school, and all of your applicable credits will be transferred over for your inevitable graduation."
"For what I've done handing it to Forge would be a moot point. With his abilities starting from scratch would no doubt yield better results," Kisha points out. "I simply made a tungston carbide case with shock absorbers inside for the mp3 player, made the headphones wireless and replaced the plastic with the memory metal they use for pairs of glasses. Well made if I do say so myself, but nothing that pushes even commercially available boundries."
Emma replies in a voice that for a moment is a forced calm, "I am not disrespecting your efforts in any way, Miss Dorogoi. I want Forge to see what you've done, and treat it as credit towards any science courses you've taken with us, and to see what can be done to refine your design. He is a busy man, and cannot simply build from scratch anything we ask at any time. Not with all the other maintenence duties he has." She adds another deep breath before saying softly, "This transfer is what I have taken a long time to consider as the best course for yourself and the school. I studied what happened at the incident… and I have tried to keep your best interests, and your own unique abilities in mind. It may not seem as such at the moment, but I am trying to help you as best I know how."
If Kisha is in anyway upset by the news it's so deep that even a master telepath like Emma would need to dig deep inside her brain to find out. "You also need to consider the schools legal standing and the risk of exposure if I involve myself in another incident," she agrees. "As I expect that simple explusion was allowable within the school rules it seems it would be ungrateful of me to hold this against you. In a way it's a relief. I'm saved from the shambles that were 'my squads' sessions in the danger room."
The reply comes after another short exhale, "I believe that is all. This will not be placed on record as a punishment either. Your math and science scores are high enough, along with your unique abilities to warrant the transfer to a college-level facility. As far as anyone on the school will be aware unless you tell them otherwise… this is a meritorious transfer." Emma's hands press into the cool marble as she meets the young woman's eyes, "I wish I could do more… but that would break rules of personal conduct I have established for myself."
"I wouldn't /want/ you to play with my mind. Some people try run from their ability, don't pity me because I've embraced mine." Kisha states flatly, digging around in her pocket for her own custom smartphone. "You should tell Theo the truth if I don't get the chance. Spare his brittle pride from thinking another student was given a meritorious transfer instead of him." And with that she slips off the chair. "Of course I intend on telling anyone who asks. False information has a tendancy to cause trouble later on and it's hardly as if anyone here will think less of me than they already do. Nor that I will lose any sleep over their opinions."
Emma's only reply to all of that is a flat, and rather cool, "Very well, Miss Dorogoi. A SHIELD representative will be here on May 1st to pick you up and escort you to the Barnes facility. I wish you the best of luck." And the dismissal is quite clear in her tone.
Kisha doesn't seem to need the prompting, her attention already hooked on the cellphone as she walks towards the door. "And I the same to you. Not that I actually believe in luck, but you get the idea." And with that she's gone. With the intent on taking full advantage of the upcoming weekends work before she has to start packing.
