Xavier Mansion - Recreation Room
What was once the Parlor has been turned into a Recreation Room for the students. A nice plush carpet meets the light blue walls giving it a homey feel. A pool table at one end, a foos ball table at the other, and entertainment center with video game systems, movies, and of course, cable TV. Big comfy chairs and couches surround a coffee table for comfortable loafing. Long glass windows with a pair of French doors line one side of the room bringing in plenty of light during the day. The main rule in here is to clean up after yourself.
Skyler has found himself in the Rec Room, very much awake. Since rescuing Robin, he's gone out and changed into another teenager closer to his age, and apparently, this one is affected by insomnia. Wonderful. Still, there's always something on TV.
Since the rescue, Robin has shaved, washed and changed into something she's a little bit more comfortable with: a white long sleeved shirt and a orangey pink skirt. Blank follows after her as she walks into the Rec Room, and she looks a little bit surprised to see someone there at this hour. "Um, hello?" she says to the teen who she has never seen before.
Skyler looks up, bleary eyed at Robin and blank, and a wan smile touches his lips. "Hello Robin. Pull up a seat on the couch. They're doing Animal Cops on Animal Planet."
Robin raises an eyebrow at Skyler but sits down on the couch. "Oh, Animal Cops, neat. So, um, you know my name. What's yours?" She's not used to Skyler in any other form but Logan's, so that is certainly not the first thing to come to her mind. Blank just tilts her head at Skyler curiously.
Skyler looks down at his chest and scowls. "Crap. I forgot to put my nametag on," he mutters, before looking up and offering up a weak smile. "I'm Skyler."
Robin blinks a few times in surprise and then relaxes a little bit, "Oh! Oh, hi Skyler. Sorry, I didn't recognize you." She smiles weakly and then adds, "You're up awful late. I thought just about everyone would be asleep by now."
Skyler shrugs with little conviction in his movement. "Yeah. I just can't sleep," he says with a sigh. "I just lay there staring at the ceiling listening to Owen snore before I just kind of gave up and came down here." He chuckles, "I usually wear a name tag so that people will know it's me."
Robin nods her head slowly, "Sometimes I can't sleep either. I just close my eyes and hope that I'll fall asleep eventually, but I just keep thinking about things… and Blank just paces, so I eventually go to do something else until I'm really tired." She gestures her arms as if to say, 'so here we are'. "Thank you, by the way, for the whole rescue thing… I was afraid I'd be stuck there until they didn't need me."
Skyler gives Robin a sheepish grin, and rubs the back of his head. "No problem. We just couldn't leave you there." He sighs, "I just wish we were able to get to you sooner. The way you were when Blank left you it was…." he shakes his head, "painful to watch.
Robin shakes her head, "I'm sorry about that. I didn't want to bother anyone, I just… I can't explain what it was like. It felt like my soul got cut right out of me." She looks down into her lap and shrugs, "Blank's back now. I think that was the only time since I was thirteen that she had left me. Other than…" She cuts herself short and shrugs, "I'm glad you're all alive, though. I was scared you had all been killed. One of the guards told me that's what happened. You tried to escape, and they caught and killed you."
Skyler's eyebrows raise when she mentions the other time that Blank disappeared but doesn't press despite his curiosity. He reaches out and pats her reassuringly on the leg. "Yeah. I'm glad we made it out relatively unscathed. I wouldn't put much stock into what people are telling you when they've got you strapped down and drugged up. They don't seem the trustworthy type to me."
Robin shrugs, "Well, I dunno, I guess I wasn't thinking rationally at the time. They were the only ones to tell me anything about you, though." She glances over her shoulder at Blank, as if just making sure that she's present, and then back towards Skyler and says, "I feel like I should get extra training or something so that maybe I'll be able to fight back or get away next time or something. Be more in control…"
Skyler nods thoughtfully. "Have you been assigned a team yet?"
Robin nods her head, "The Hellions team. Seems like an awful name, I hardly feel like a Hellion, but I guess it's just a name." Both her and Blank shrug synchronously. "I don't really have much for fighting skills or anything. Blank had always protected me in the past, but I guess that's not enough."
Skyler grins when Robin mentions the Hellions. "Hey, that's my team. Me and Daisuke at least." He gives her a playful punch in the shoulder, "You'll do fine. You should have seen us when we first started out. Scared the crap out of me, but in the end we all survived."
Robin looks surprised at the playful punch and then smiles at Skyler, "Oh, good! I was afraid I wouldn't know anyone and it might be all awkward…" She adjusts her glasses and looks over at Blank. "Meeting new people just makes me kind've nervous. Especially with me being, you know…"
Skyler arches an eyebrow at the pause and finishes for Robin "…. a girl?" He chuckles and shakes his head. "I wouldn't worry about it. Everybody here is a lot more open minded, than they are outside of the Mansion." With another chuckle, he grins, "We kind of have to be considering the type of people we have around here."
Robin nods her head. "Oh, I have noticed that. It's kind've strange to me to be here, compared to where I used to live. This little teeny town in the middle of nowhere, so nobody was gay or anything there. I mean, nobody was openly gay… that'd be dangerous." She shrugs and exchanges glances with Blank and says, "It's different in a good way."
Skyler nods, yawning. "It's good to find a place where you fit in," he says, shaking his head and standing up. "Okay. I'm going to go try to get some sleep. I think Owen should be deep enough that he isn't snoring anymore."
Robin nods and smiles, "I'll probably stay up for a little longer. I don't think I feel up to trying to sleep again quite yet." She waves at Skyler and wishes, "Goodnight."
