Xavier Mansion - Medical Bay

The Medical Bay contains the latest medical equipment to patch up students and X-Men with the smallest and worst injuries. Six beds line the walls for injured patients. Equipment lines the walls, medicine in the cabinets, and more serious medical supplies locked in cabinets. One this about this room it screams sterilization.

Having been down here since Saturday, James has had several days to heal from his run in with the Wendigo. With his torn flesh no longer stapled closed, Spotty is enjoying his first day back in normal clothes and on solid foods while he waits for a Doctor-approved release. While most of his injuries are covered by his black shirt, his face tells a different story. A long, pink scar scales ascends his neck, cheek and muzzle. But, even this will fade with time as his healing factor works to remove the scar tissue and repair the damaged hair follicles. Kicked back and typing on his laptop, the hyena enjoys some web surfing and time off the radar of his friends who expect him to be out of town.

After just getting back last night, Robyn heard through the grape vine that James was back at Xavier's and in the medical bay. It wasn't his fault that the teachers left the door ajar to the staff lounge and he just happened to hear as he passed by, even if he couldn't help but stand there for a bit longer than usual to see if he could hear details but all he found out was: Medbay. That was five minutes ago and now Robyn hurries into the medical bay, obviously having run down here as quickly as possible. As soon as he practically slides into the room he sees his friend on his laptop. "James…are you okay?" He breaths out, obviously a bit worried.

The notebook is closed with a slow movement and put on the table nearby. "Oh, I'm great" James says with a smile that causes the scar to wrinkle a little, "You should have seen the other guy." The smirk that follows says it all, even if the tired voice does not, "If you do…tell him I want that pound of flesh back."

Robyn can't help but smile as James' says he's great, even if he isn't he's at least smiling. "Well, you look like shit and if I see the other guy, I'll tell him. Just…I don't know who the other guy is." He says as he walks over and stands next to him. "So how was the camping trip, besides getting into a fight with…I dunno what."

James shakes his head, "Big, white 15' thing with claws bigger and sharper than my hands and a disposition to match. If you 'do' see him…run." The stare that follows is kinda intense, but with black-in-black eyes, looking intense is default, "It was a Wendigo. Some supernatural thing that goes around killing things. Looked him up after hearing someone say his name. He barely touched me and I flew like 100' feet." There's a slow blink, "I think I died. And I think Jinx saved me."

Robyn listens and he's about to say that if he ever does run into something like that, he'll run as fast as he can but then the last part is dropped and Robyn just stands there for a bit. "That's…I'm glad Jinx saved you James." Is that fear in his voice? "Really, James, I…how do you think you died, I just…" He can't really get out his thoughts properly and his words are bit hesitant as he speaks. "I'm glad you're here."

The hyena frowns, his arms crossing, "Say what's on your mind Robyn. I can't tell what you're thinking through all that…whatever it is you just did." James picks out the only part of that he thinks he understood by answering gruffly, "Because the return trip wasn't nearly as nice as just quietly slipping away. I'm still not sure what happened…so I need to catch up with her later…but I remember Jinx talking about how it worked or something."

Robyn sits down in a chair next to James and takes quite a while to chose his words. "Just the thought of you dying…it scares me okay? I'm just glad someone was there to make sure you didn't die. You're too good of a friend, okay?" He's not good at saying stuff like that, especially to James, but the thought that if Jinx didn't save him…then what?

James reaches over with one of those large paws of his and tries to touch his friend or take his hand…something. Even if almost smacking him in the process. "Sorry…my muscle control is still shit. Everything is still rewiring, I guess. I'm told I'll be 100% soon. And I'm fine…I'm sure the jet would have gotten there before anything permanent happened." He half smiles, showing off all his teeth, "Can't leave you behind, anyways. “Who'd take care of you?"

"I don't need to be taken care of." He says sounding a bit amused as he knows he isn't the most self reliant of people in some aspects. "And with the way you left when I was leaving…I wasn't sure if you wanted to see me again or not." He then gives James a smile and nods. "And I'm sure you will be and then you can be back to welcoming the new kids to Xavier's with style."

James shrugs, "Don't remember why…but a lot has happened between now and then. And you needed a break as much as I did. So, unless I suddenly remember, I dunno that it was anything personal." To the welcoming thing, James offers, "I'm not allowed to welcome kinds anymore. Staff is still pissed off about me trying to convince the last new kid that he could fly and the roof was a great place to try out his untapped talent."

"It's his fault for believing it." Robyn says with a chuckle. "And yeah I did need a break. I finally got my third tattoo while away for the week. It felt…relaxing not to be here. Not to think about things and oddly enough, for once the noise of the city was a welcoming thing. Last night felt too quite."

"I'd kill for quiet," James says with a nod, "I can hear through the walls. But, whatever. What did you do when you were home? And what did you get for a tattoo?" With a little effort, he foregoes sitting and props himself upright, legs hanging over the side of the bed and touching the floor. Through his semi-pained look he adds, "Oh, I think I left so fast because your parents were arriving. I's not family friendly."

"Oh, I thought it was something I did." Robyn says with a little bit of relief in his voice, he's not offended that James didn't want to meet his family after all he hasn't made his Mom out to be Ms. Accepting of Mutants. "We went to a few museums in the city, stayed home a lot, went to see that Scott Pilgrim movie, it was nice. I went out to dinner with Rashmi one night too." His family can't afford a 'real' vacation so it's always been limited to local stuff. "Oh here, this is what I got." Robyn says taking off his shirt and showing the Jack Skellington he got on his right shoulder, it's still healing and a bit scabby.

James looks over the tattoo and grins, "Nice." Though he personally doesn't understand the attraction. Probably because his fur makes getting Ink pointless. "How's Rash?" he asks in a quieter voice, "She okay? She know we all miss her?" And maybe he most of all.

Robyn puts his shirt back on and nods. "She's okay and she's just busy. Between the new school and her job, she's got a lot to do and she knows we all miss her. I think I remind her of that frequently. I know she misses you and keeps trying to catch up with you the last few times I saw her here but…I dunno what happened. She's probably one of the most amazing people I know." Robyn admits as she's been there countless times, even when he was a jerk to her a long while back. "We should surprise her with something, like I dunno, something fun and relaxing we can all do before school starts."

"I'm afraid that'll have to be something you or someone else dream up," James says with a shake of his head, "Last sure-fire relaxing thing I was involved in nearly got me killed. So I'm out of ideas." He nods to his friend, "Speaking of…you see anyone looking for me, tell them it was no big deal. I don't want Connor or Lucas tripping over themselves over this, okay?" He hops off the bed and takes a second to stabilize himself with an outstretched paw, "Have you heard… anything from Jordan?"

"Well what I'm dreaming up is finding a spot at the reservoir that's kinda secluded and just having a picnic. Something where you or Jinx don't have to worry about pretending to be someone you're not with a holographic costume." Robyn is just very weirded out by James looking 'normal' since he's only known him as a Hyena. "And yeah, Jordan and I talk a few times a week, he's doing good but I just don't know what he's up to or why he ran off to do…what ever this 'make a difference' thing was he was talking about. He won't talk about it.

James shrugs, "As long as he's happy, right? Can't be any worse off. If so, he'd have said something. But I like that idea of the picnic. You set things up with her then?" He lets go of the bed and checks his stability, "See? Already getting better." So says the guy with the scar on his face. "Oh, check these out!" He raises his shirt to show off 4 very long, unking scars that probably start at his hip, run over his midsection and chest, and end at his shoulder, "Think I should send a photo home?"

"Sure, I'll get a few of us together and get things set up." Robyn says as he kinda is looking forward to the idea. "Chicks dig scars right?" Robyn says looking at the scars, but even with the joking comment he can't help but wince a bit. "Yeah, send them home I bet your folks would -love- to see that. Man that Wendigo must have been huge. You have to have some kind of epic tale to go along with those scars." He jokes. "And definitely, no word of this to Connor or Lucas."

"Good," James says singularly. He starts headed towards the door, in a slow pace as he shoves his hands into his pockets, "Alright. I'm tired of waiting. So, I'm gonna blow this pop stand. You coming or going?"

Robyn pushes himself up and starts to walk with James. "I'm not staying down here." Not any longer than needed. "Escape this place while you can it only brings boredom and misery." He says joking but yet not as he heads out with James.
