Everywhere you go there's the green and white logo of Starbucks. Coffee, tea, iced drinks, and many specialty coffee drinks and pastries can be enjoyed here. Supporting WiFi and outlets to hook up your laptop, Starbucks is a great spot to relax or study.
Sitting in the back of the Starbucks with his laptop is one Teddy Altman. The big, blond jock's dressed in jeans, a black-shirt, and a white jacket over it with his backpack hanging on the back of the chair. Last night, he'd sent an e-mail to an old friend and asked if they could meet up at the Starbucks. He needed to talk to someone from the school and since he already knew Daisuke, the shapeshifter figured he'd see how the sonic-user was doing. Now he just waits, clicking idly through e-mails.
It was definately a shock when Daisuke got an email from Teddy Altman, aka Hulkling. He pretty much figured the two Young Avengers forgot about him and went their own way just like he went his own way. Nothing wrong with it but he's more an X-Kid so to speak. Walking into Starbucks he doesn't bother ordering anything but looks around spotting Teddy. Walking over there, he slides into the other chair at the little table and smiles. "Hey Teddy, it's been a while, everything alright?"
Teddy jumps slightly then flashes a grin to Dai. "Hey, Dai," he says. "Yeah, things are going pretty good so far. How have you been?" he asks. "Want a drink or anything? It's on me," the alien offers.
Daisuke waves a hand and shakes his head. "No, don't worry about it, I'm good. And I've been okay. I saw you with the Young Avengers defending the world but unfortunately I didn't get to say hi." And he was a bit caught up after the fight with Jared kissing him. "How have things been with you Teddy? Everything good with you and Billy?"
Teddy blushes faintly for a moment, subconsciously shifting the blush away. "We're doing pretty good. The both of us," he replies. "You having any luck in love lately?"
Now it's Daisuke's turn to blush but he doesn't have the luck of shifting it away. "Yeah, I am. My best friend's sort of half brother." He says with a chuckle as he runs his hand through his hair. "And I'm glad to hear the two of you have been doing well. I've been really busy with training aand I should have kept in touch."
Teddy is rather surpirsed right now. He'd not expected Dai to be interested in guys. Smiling, the shapeshifter reaches over to pat Dai on the shoulder. "Awesome, dude. I'd glad ya found someone!" he says. "We should have too but with all the disasters coming up and teammates coming back..we've been busy," he sighs.
Daisuke smiles and shrugs, a bit shy. "Been busy, with more than just the invasion and disasters? I mean, I hate to be blunt and sound like a jerk but you asked me to meet you out here for more than just coffee and chatting right?"
Teddy winces and then offers a sheepish smile. "Yeah…actually," he chuckles. "I wanted to know if there was anyone at the school using the codename 'Magik' right now," he says. "If so…Billy and I really need to talk to her."
"Magik?…she?…I don't think there is?" Daisuke answers as it doesn't sound familar to him. "If you want I can look around and see if I can find anything. I've been there for almost two years and I don't remember any Magik."
Teddy nods. "She was one of the New Mutants with Cannonball, Sunspot, and the rest," he adds. "What about Colossus?" he asks. "We need to talk to someone about something we think Magik used to have. A certain kind of sword."
"I heard Colossus just came back. I don't know much about him and him and Ms. Pryde have been spending a lot of time together." Daisuke says thinking about something. "I have an idea, I can also talk to my best friend Eddie or my boyfriend, they seem to know a lot about superheroes, especially Eddie. I'll also try to talk to Colossus."
Teddy lets out a breath. "Eddie? That squeaky kid from the fight in LA that went flying out of control?" he asks, a slightly amused smile there for a second. "Thanks, Dai," the shapeshifter says, glancing at his computer when it beeps. "If you can…can you arrange a meeting with Colossus for me and Billy?"
Daisuke nods. "Yup, he's my best friend. And I can try, I don't really know Colossus too well but I'll see if I can meet up with him to ask him and then I'll let him know. I'll give him your contact information?" Daisuke's not really the noisey type so he doesn't ask what it's about. "And we should try to get together to catch up, all of us."
Teddy reaches into he backpack and pulls out a little notebook and pen. Quickly, he writes down his contact info then hands the paper to Daisuke. "Thanks Dai. Sorta something important. Nothing world-threatening but important," he shrugs. "Definitely. Especially now that Patriot, Speed, and Vision are back."
Daisuke takes the piece of paper and folds it, tucking it into a pocket. "Cool, that's good to hear Teddy. I've just been doing a lot of training at Xavier's and it's been going well. So things are going well with the Young Avengers? I've seen a couple of your latest expliots in the paper." Dai says with a grin.
Teddy blushes again. "Oh man…did the tabloids stop saying I dumped Billy for Patriot?" he groans, having been horribly embarassed by that paper. "We're doing well. Got a team training exercise with the Avengers tomorrow. First one as a big group…and right after school," sighs. "Should be interesting especially now that we've got three new members."
"No, the last one I read was Billy dumped you for some boyband musican, I know it's not true." Daisuke says with a chuckle. "Wow, three new members, you guys are really growing. I did see two new faces with you at the fight. It was so hetic that I couldn't say hi." And who knows if Teddy saw that kiss that Jared gave him.
Teddy sighs. "Man…and I thought Kat Farrel was a pain. Atleast she wrote the truth…" he trails off. "Yeah. Wave and Silent Image were with us. Rebound's finalizing things with the Avengers but we're pretty sure he'll join us," he explains. "Yeah…hard to say hi in the middle of a fight. Especially one that big," he says. He missed the kiss, having been in the middle of one with Billy at the same time.
"Kat Farrel? And you know those taboilds just like to make stories. Espeicaly the Daily Bugle." Daisuke says shaking his head. "I know, but I'm glad that's all over. Things were a bit crazy there for a while. I can do with out another fight for a while since I know I'll end up in trouble."
"She's a reporter with the Daily Bugle. One of the only ones there worth talking to," Teddy explains. "She interviewed the team awhile back. Cap and Jewel asked us to do it so…" he shrugs. "Hey, don't worry. I'm sure you'll handle yourself fine in a fight. But if you're really worried, just call the Avengers Hotline when you get into trouble and we'll come help ya out."
Daisuke nods. "Sounds good Teddy, I also have my handy X-communicator so that helps. Unfortunately I have to get going Teddy, but we'll definately have to get in touch soon." Maybe introduce Teddy to his boyfriend, Jared might like that since he like superheroes. He stands up and goes to give Teddy a hug. "Take care okay, and we shouldn't be strangers.
Teddy stands up to return the hug, flashing a grin. "Alright. Thanks for coming, Dai. And keep safe out there," he says. "Definitely not. Hey…" he smirks. "Maybe we should get together for some kinda X-kid/Young Avengers soccer game or something," he jokes. "See ya later, dude."
