Xavier Mansion - Quad
There is a square side walk of pavement with a nice grassy area in the middle with a few stone benches and trees along the corners. The pavement leads to the paths to the grounds of the school, the Dining Hall in Xavier's and the Ramsey Dormitories. It's not particularly large but it's a nice place for students and teachers to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
It's one of those typical early spring days, rain in the morning and now sunny in the afternoon, who knows what the weather is going to be like in five minutes but Daisuke's taking advantage of the nice weather at the moment. He has an easel set up and has a large drawing pad attached to it. He stands as he draws, using charcoal as his medium. He's dressed in a pair of jeans with checkered pockets and cuffs on the bottom of his pants, a blue button down shirt and a matching checkered tie with a black fedora style hat. He does love his fashion sense. He's got a streak of black charcoal on his cheek, as Dai is prone to get paint or charcoal on his face when absorbed in his art
Nathaniel is dressed rather simply in a black buttonup shirt, the sleeves rolled up, and a pair of fitting blue jeans, his hair swept back and pinned down under a charcoal cabby hat. He pauses when he recognizes Daisuke's 'vibrations', as he calls it, turning his head in that direction and making his way towards him. He doesn't speak up immediately, instead waiting between strokes, when Daisuke will take a moment to look at what he's done, opening up with a simplistic, "Hey."
Compaired to the first few times Nathaniel meet Daisuke, his base emotions have changed quite a bit. He seems quite happy and relaxed and a lot of those negative emotions are not as predominant as they once were. Hearing the voice Daisuke looks over at Nathaniel with a smile. "Hey Nathan. How's it going?" He says offering a smile. He's not hiding the fact that he's sketching a picture of Jared more on the serious side. He likes to draw portraits of people who he cares a lot about.
Nathaniel nods to the portrait calmly, shifting his weight from one foot to the other before he asks, though it doesn't really sound like a question, "So you talked to Jared, huh? …it's going all right. Not much to do. I was thinking of heading into the woods…"
Daisuke shrugs and smiles. "Yeah we talked. I kind of took Leo's advice and things worked out. I guess you can say we're a couple now." He says blushing slightly, it's his first relationship. "I just hope I don't screw it up." He then shrugs again but inside he's really happy. "The woods? Just to get out and be alone out there? Sorry if I'm interupting you, but I talked to my grandmother, she's cool with around five people staying at her place for spring break. It'd be fun."
Nathaniel seeks out somewhere nearby to sit down, ultimately choosing to lean against one of the trees with his hands still in his pockets, "I'm glad to hear it. I figured things would work out that way. Have you guys gone out yet, or are you mostly staying in?" He says this last with a small grin, though he waves off the comment about screwing up as if Daisuke didn't even say it. He nods afterwards, rolling his shoulders in a light shrug, "Yeah. I usually do… and really? To be honest, I've always wanted to go to Japan. I've got this thing about… manga and stuff like that, which is a pretty lame reason for wanting to go, but I also have books on Japanese fashion and I want to see the huge rows of vending machines…" His light skin has taken on a mild flush as he admits to this, shrugging again afterwards, helplessly.
"No we haven't gone out yet, mostly just staying in." Daisuke says blushing quite a bit. "Well then it'll be fun to go to Harajuku with you and go to a lot of clothing shops. Most of the clothes I've bought in Japan have been destoryed when the boys wing was wrecked in the attack. Now I just have to settle for things that are workable in New York City that I find. A what about music, you into any of that?" Dai can't help but smile at Nathaniel. "I'm glad you really want to go, and I've watched and read my share of anime and manga. I'm not huge into it but I like it."
"Yeah, I'm not huge into it, either, really - I like the drawing style. I want to make one of my own, but I have a hard time with the storyline," Nathan says, scratching the back of his head in a way that momentarily pushes his hat forward, before he tugs it down in the front and tilts his head back, "I really want to visit Harajuku. I've been trying to save up some money I've been making on odd jobs so I could maybe buy something for myself or Leo; I don't really know what the exchange rate is any more… as for music, yeah, some of it. I don't have any one band I like, though. I mostly just pick up songs I like, not so good at remembering the names of the people who do them."
"Are you more into the pop, rock, heavy rock or punk stuff, I have a bunch in my room, I could always burn some stuff if you like." It's just that Nathaniel's really the first person, besides his brother, that he's met that seems into his culture. "Some of it I like, depends on the artist. I've tried drawing that way a few times, I'm just better with realistic, I think." He'll have to try drawing something more in a manga style at some point. "Well if you need help with money, I can help."
The taller young man adjusts his hat once more before he slides his hands back into his hip pockets, "That'd be great. I'm kind of into the pop and rock - and the techno, actually. A lot of the techno is crazy upbeat, which is great for when you're working out… and I like the more modern style, the bishoujo style, I think? Stuff like Astroboy and… damn, I can't remember. Something Knights… it's a little old school for me. The faces are super long and the bodies are more spindly than lean, like they are now." He moves away from the tree, meandering around to the side so that he can look at the drawing, "Help? You know somebody hiring?"
Daisuke looks at Nathaniel for a bit, like he's studying him, while listening to what he says. "I'm more into the heavy rock. Anything kind of loud and crazy. I'm a drummer so I like to try to mimic what I hear. I really did like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun years ago and more serious stuff like that. The silly happy cheerful stuff drives me crazy. And hiring, I don't know I was doing a volunteer job for a bit but..after my father died I was left with everything and just…I dunno."
Nathaniel sticks out the tip of his tongue, making a face and shaking his head, "I loved Cowboy Bebop, but the ending was depressing; I don't watch the episodes now. I've made some AMVs with it, though - anime music videos? This guy lets me use his laptop when he isn't busy, so I fiddle around with those. It's fun. Have you ever watched Fruits Basket? It's a weird mix of serious and cheerful, though some of the secrets the characters have are just fucked up…" He speaks in one long sentence almost, pausing immediately after with a quiet look on his face, that same look he often has after speaking a lot, taking a breath before he continues, tilting his head slightly, "…when'd your father die…? And volunteer work is okay… I work in the city. I wash dishes, right now. It's not bad, but they have to pay me under the table, since I'm technically still underage. No taxes, at least."
"No, I haven't seen that one. I didn't watch a whole lot of TV and my brother and I used to pick up bootlegs in Chinatown a lot and watch them when we could." Dai says with a chuckle. And when Nathaniel asks when did his father die, there's a strong feeling of hate that comes from him. "He died almost two years ago." He spits out with a sigh, he doesn't want to linger on that topic. "I was doing some set design type stuff at a small theatre but the owners a little strange. I can't quite tell about him."
Nathaniel is a smart kid with empathy; he knows when to drop a topic, and does so without a second thought - he can empathize in a totally natural way, "I have the entire show on bootleg DVD. I'll lend it to you. I keep most of that stuff under my bed, out of sight. I've got some Hellsing, too. /That/ is an awesome show - that and Vampire Hunter D." He cants his head thoughtfully over mention of the theatre, though, lifting his eyebrows curiously, "Want me to come check him out some time?"
"Vampire Hunter D, I remember when Shuya and I watched the first one together, Shu thought D was so bad ass." Daisuke says with a chuckle. "Or we can just have a movie night together or something." Dai stops and thinks about the last thing Nathaniel says and ponders it. "Maybe, I just couldn't tell if he was lying about something or…I don't know, I'm really not the best person at reading people."
"Well, I can definitely tell you if he's lying; people can't lie to me unless they've got special brain power shielding," Nathan says, wagging a hand at his temple indicatively only to grin slightly, not willing to refer to it as psychic powers just yet. He takes off his hat so he can ruffle his hand through his matted hair, shaking it out a little and rubbing his scalp with his fingers, "I think D's pretty badass too, but he's also kind of a dog, if you think about it. I mean, in the one I remember, he goes through a ton of shit just to save this one girl who doesn't even want to be saved. He goes at it tenaciously and unquestioningly, you know? Like a dog."
"A movie night sounds cool. I'll have to ask Leo if there's anything he'd want to watch, too… though I have a feeling there'll be a ton of stuff up for grabs in Japan." He takes a little while to ponder this, looking generally pleased by the idea.
"Sure, and I never thought about it that way but I guess. Someone just do things for revenge and pay." Daisuke says with a shrug and while the two are standing there is starts to drizzle a bit. "Shit, um, yeah, we'll talk about a movie night, maybe this weekend. I should get this stuff inside before all my artwork is ruined, see ya around Nathan!" Daisuke says with a smile and wave as he starts to take down his easle and art pad and rush inside before it starts raining heavier.
