Xavier Mansion - Art Room

The Art Room has pictures of classic artists and small sculptures of famous pieces of art around the room. Any art supply you need may be found in this room, a large variety of paints, charcoals, markers, pencils, clays, canvases, easels, paper, and much more are accessible for the students. A large kelm is in one of the far corners of the room as well. On one side of the art room are a few sewing machines with a large variety of fabrics and sewing supplies for the students as well.

Mason's been working on his music in the music room for the last hour, taking a free hour to catch up on his studies at Julliard. It's taxing, and he loves music, but this is overload. So, he thought he'd come chill in the art room. Why? Because he wants to try Giea's method of looking at sculptures. He sits at a chair next to one of the shelves housing the unfinished sculptures, his hands running acrss one of them with his eyes shut. It's not a normal sight, but it sure does make him hungry. He feels each groove in the piece, each bump and imperfection. It's relaxing, really, using other senses besides his ears and eyes for a while.

Walking into the art room Robyn places a stack of books on the table before he goes over to grab his lastest project, in which there are a few of them in the room. Not seeing what he wants on the shelf he looks around the room confused and that's when he spots Mason. "Hey Mason…can I ask what you're doing with my sculpture?" The confusion clear in his voice. What Mason is feeling is a Gargoyle that Robyn's been working on, it's about a foot high with large bat wings and the face of a wolf.

Mason was so wrapped in feeling the gargoyle that he didn't even hear Robyn come in. His eyes snap open, and he quickly puts it down in front of him. "Sorry," he says. "I was just…um…feeling it." He winces. "I know this girl who sculpts by what she feels," he tries to justify. "I was just trying to figure out how things were for her when she looks at art…" he pauses as if he was finished, and then adds suddenly, "She's blind." He adjusts the placement of the sculpture slightly, and puts his hands back in his lap quickly. Man, he feels dumb.

Robyn smiles at Mason and chuckles. "Don't worry about it, though you'll probably want to wash your hands since it's not glazed or anything and still gets dried clay everywhere. It's been fired once but I need to glaze it, fire it again, and then put finishing touches on it." Robyn goes to pick up one of the books he brought, which are all on Gothic archetecture. "That's pretty impressive I don't think I could handle being blind."

"Yeah, I noticed," Mason responds, sniffing his fingers. He shrugs, "I don't know. It wouldn't be so bad as long as I could still play," he says. "You don't need to see to play piano." The pop star stands up. "It'd be better than some other things that could happen, you know?" he suggests, sucking on the edge of his index finger for a moment.
"Yeah, like loosing the use of your hands would probably be the worst. I wouldn't be able to sculpt or play the cello." Robyn says as he goes over to start looking through glazes and paint brushes. As he returns to the table with a jar of the right colour he gives Mason a weird look. "You might not want to put that in your mouth, I don't know how good this is clay is for you to eat."

"I…" Mason puts his finger down. "Wasn't eating it," he contests. "Why would I eat clay?" The comment is delivered dismissively, as if Robyn was suggesting something ridiculous. "So, since I have you cornered," the blond changes subjects quickly. "Did you call Shane a bitch?" Way to ease into the topic. Normally Mason is a little more diplomatic in his approaches, but given that he's also trying to take attention off of his strange habit.

Robyn lets out a sigh as he sits down in a chair. "She already called me on it Mason, we talked about it. There's really nothing more to discuss on that subject." He says as starts to shake up the jar of glaze. He doesn't say anything else but lets the silence hang there as he goes to start coating his gargoyle in a coat of cloudly looking gray paint.

"Well," Mason answers hesitantly, expecting more defensiveness from the psionic, "Just leave her alone. She's had a rough time, she doesn't need people insulting her more. I would've expected you not to do something so mean." He walks back to the shelf with the other pieces, and picks another one up to examine it. "She's a really sweet girl, and she doesn't need people tearing her down."

"You're beating a dead horse Mason. Shane and I talked about it, it's resolved." Robyn says as he focuses on what he's doing. "You would have expected me not to be so mean? Do you even know me outside of squad practice?" He asks as he doesn't even bother looking up. He doesn't want to talk about Shane behind her back so he doesn't comment on her to Mason.

"You don't seem too mean," Mason answers. "You think you're mean? I always took you for one of those people who tried to be understanding of others." As he glances back to Robyn, he notices that he's focused on the sculpture, and takes the opportunity to suck on his fingers a little more. Sooo tasty.

Robyn finally looks up at Mason and shrugs. "Everyone has their limits Mason and everyone has their bad days. What happened between Shane and I, happened between Shane and I. You want to make a big issue out of this but she called me on it. I accepted responsiblity for what was said, we aruged a bit and things got resolved. So what's the problem?"
Huh? Hmm? Bad player. No biscuit.

The pop star pulls his finger back out of his mouth after Robyn looks up, and arches his brow. "Uh…" he thought he had dropped it. "All I said was you don't seem mean. I admit, I am a little protective of Shane. She doesn't like me very much, and I don't expect her to. It's just…" he isn't sure he wants to talk about that story. "I just am."

"Just like I said everyone has their limits." Robyn repeats. "I'm not mean but what happened was between Shane and I. I don't really feel the need to explain why I said what I did to you, no offence. Even if you are trying to play Knight in Shining Armour to her." He says with a small grin.

Mason rolls his eyes. "It's not like that," he answers. "Shane and I went to the same school before we got here. Things were complicated." He takes the other sculpture and places it back on the shelf, trying to make the positioning exact to leave little evidence that it was touched.

Robyn continues to paint the gargoyle just that one colour for now. "Well at Xavier's everything seems to get more complicated. And if it makes you feel better, yes I feel bad for what I said and hurting her feelings. I just don't really want to get into it cause it's a dead subject in my opinion and also I don't really want to talk about her behind her back again."

"Good," Mason says, "I don't want you talking behind her back, either." He shrugs, "Good we had this talk, I guess." The boy claps his hands, as if that settles the matter. "I guess I'll let you finish working on your wolf gargoyle sculpture."

"I guess." Robyn says with a bit of a smile seeming a bit confused at the same time. "And Mason, if you have a crush on Shane that badly, just ask her to the dance. What's the worst that could happen?"

"Crush on Shane?" Mason responds indignantly. "No! Nothing like that. I don't like Shane that way at all." Too emphatic? "I'm going with Megan. She really likes me and I think we could have a good time." He leaves the definition of 'good time' open. "I think she had a crush on me for a while, but…" he shrugs, that happens a lot to him. "She's just a friend."

Robyn raises and eyebrow at Mason showing he doesn't really believe him. "Well I'll see you at the dance, I'll be going with my boyfriend." He says as he starts to rotate the statue to see what areas he missed. "I don't think I've ever met Megan, she's the girl with the wings?"

"Yeah, yeah, that's her," Mason answers. "She's pretty cute. Did you do anything for Valentine's?" he asks.

Robyn shakes his head. "No, not yet. Jordan and I have been busy since it was on a Monday and school and all." He says as he continues to paint his statue, finishing up the last exposed areas. "It's also been really weird cause Rashmi and Connor were in Africa and stuff happened there and Connor and I still have to catch up on birthday stuff so Valentines Day was kind of put on hold this year.

"Ahh," Mason shrugs. "Well, it only comes once a year, I made sure to take advantage of it." Once again, he leaves it ambiguous, but given his flirtatious demeanor, good looks, and fame, his Valentines was most likely far from uneventful. He watches as Robin finishes the last of the exposed areas on the sculpture. "I guess I should be heading out, gotta go finish working on my stuff for class tomorrow."

Robyn closes the jar of glaze and goes to find another colour. "Good luck with your class work. I'll see you in Squad practice." He says as he returns with a new colour, paint brush and cloth and seems quite focused on what he's doing.
