Xavier Mansion - Eddie and Pallaton's Room
Slightly bigger than the old room, the new rooms fit two students comfortably. Each room has off white walls with a dark brown carpet. There is one window in the middle of the wall that looks out over the grounds. Each room has two beds, two dressers, two desks and two closets, one for each student.
As is usual when he's in there alone, there's music coming from the room Eddie shares with Pallaton this afternoon. Eddie's got a break between classes and has gone up to his room for a quick clothing change, texting Ricky break, and to swap out some books. He's just pulling on a War Machine shirt to replace the one that got a bit dirt in science class. "Speed of lighting! Roar of thunder! Fighting all who rob and plunder! Underdog!"
There's a knock on Eddie's door followed by a voice. "Eddie, mind if I come in?" After all who wouldn't know he's in via hearing his singing through the door. "I wanna talk for a bit." Nothing bad just things that need to be said.
Eddie jumps slightly, looking up from re-buckling his belt. He quickly turns off his music and glances around the room. It's clean. There's a momentary saddness as Eddie has no idea where his roommate is or has been but he lets it pass. "Hey, Dad," he greets as he opens the door. "C'mon in," he says, quickly huggng the older mutant around the middle.
Christopher steps into the room and sits down on Eddie's bed, patting the spot next to him. "Hey Kiddo, I wanted to talk to you, about a few things. Since, I…let my self go for a bit. Made a decision that I regret and I want to explain a few things to you and Jared about it." It's family, they should deal with their issues and get eveythign out on the table.
Eddie closes his door and locks it. He walks over slowly and sits where directed. "About the demon thing?" he asks softly, leaning against Chris.
Christopher puts his arm around Eddie and nods. "Yeah, the demon thing. What I became for a short period of time. A few weeks back I had what looked like an Angel approach me, he addressed me fears, told me I could do something about them. I agreeded in a moment of weakness, thinking I was making a deal for the better. It wasn't, I did some horrible things. I attacked your father and threatened your brother. I would have gone after you too if you weren't safe with Jeri's parents. I want you to know I love you Eddie, and I am deeply sorry for making that mistake."
Eddie listens quietly, just staying close to his adopted father. "I love you too, Dad," he says, smiling. "But you don't have to be sorry," he says. "You were only trying to do good and something that professionally tricks people fooled you. It's not your fault."
Christopher nods. "Thanks kiddo, I just have to get it on the table and I owe you an explaination, and anyone who wants it. I don't want to hide from what I did. I want me, and others, to learn from it." He ruffles Eddie's hair before bringing up another subject. "Have you had a chance to meet Mikhail here yet?"
Eddie looks sad a moment. "It's okay, Dad," he says. "The…whole thing is my fault anyway," he says softly. "If I had been smarter…a better leader…then the first angel wouldn't have gotten away. We would've stopped her and all those people…" he starts to shake a bit, holding tighter to Christopher. There's a long delay before his eyes flash blue and his smile comes back. "I knew it wasn't you and you'd be okay. I have faith in you," he says with a smile. When Mikhail is mentioned, Eddie nods. "I met him twice…when he first got here and in his new look. I'm worried about him…"
Christopher looks at Eddie, and it's a stern 'I'm about to smack you up side the head look'. "Eddie, listen to me. This is nobody's fault. Things happen, out of our control. It would have happened if you were there or not. You were not in limbo orchestrating this. It's nothing about letting people get away, it would have happened, I am pretty sure of that." No one person is to blame for this but several demons, yes, they're definately to blame. "I might be accepting legal guardianship over Mikhail, along with Jeri, so he can get settled. I have to see what's going on but if they need someone for it, me and Jeri are going to do it. It'll be like what we…I did for Ricky."
Eddie jumps at the look and shrinks back a bit. "Okay, Dad," he replies meekly. He blinks several times at the news about Mikhail. "So…he'd be sorta like another brother?" he asks.
Christopher shakes his head. "Not really, he'll just be under the guardianship of Jericho and Myself. So if he ever needs a legal guardian for something, that's one of us. It's to help him get establish, and known that he exisits by the government. It'll really help him find himself I think. Just knowing he is a somebody not just a first name with no legal connections."
Eddie nods slowly, leaning againt Chris again. "Oh," he pauss. "Like I said, was concerned for him. The last time I saw him, he was convinced he was a bad person and just an animal. Tried to steal a car from the garage," he murmurs. "I hope he's alright," he says. "Oh yeah…Grandma and Grandpa Mayfair want to know when you, me, Dad, and Jared are all going to visit them again," he says, teasing a little.
"That one's up to Jeri." Christopher says with a chuckle. "Though speaking of his family, you'll get to meet Jet. He's Jeri's youngest brother. He's a good guy and is going to school in New York now. Healthy appitite like his brother."
Eddie perks up a bit. "Uncle Jet?" he asks. "Where is he staying? I'll go visit him next time I'm in the city," he says. "Does he like cranberries too?"
"Woah, woah, woah kiddo. Slow down. I don't know exactly where he's staying." Christopher says chuckling. "He's new here and still getting used to things, I don't think overwhelming him so fast would be a good idea. Why don't you wait until he comes over for dinner some night, then you can find out if he has his brother's cranberry obession."
Eddie pouts a little and then laughs. "Okay," he says. "When's he coming over?" he asks curiously. "How long has he been here?"
"Now that everything is over, we'll talk to him and make sure he comes over." Christopher says ruffling Eddie's hair. "He's a nice kid, nothing like Jordan."
Eddie squeaks when ruffled. "That's good," he says. "Wait…kid?" he asks, confused.
"Well to me he's a kid. He's in college, he's younger." Christopher says. Jet's older than Eddie but quite a bit younger than Jericho. "I gotta be going though, gotta head to the salon after weeks of neglect. I hope it's still standing."
