Yes the game is down and this time I know exactly why! Our server host had to restart the server last night and he had to @dump'd, but it said he didn't have permission to shutdown. So he had to ask me if we were Tiny or Glow, since we are on different time zones I was asleep when he asked me and I responded recently, so hopefully it should be back up later today./

I'm still trying to contact our server host but sadly I haven't been able to contact him. Right now we're weighting options to see what's going on and maybe even a new server host, not sure yet. Just wanted to keep you all updated as I hate the down time and I hate leaving you all in the dark. If you need to contact me for anything you can IM me at KawaiiAddieCat. Using regular expressions to make logging easier

This is a guide mainly for the MUSH client SimpleMU (a free and highly recommended download available HERE), but should work with any client that supports triggers/events and regular expressions. The menus may vary, but the strings themselves should not.

Editing logs can be tedious, deleting all the lines of chat on public channels, pages from other players, or OOC messages. However you can easily configure SimpleMU to automatically filter this text from log files so that preparing logs for posting on the Marvel Revolutions wiki will be quick and painless.

First, click on the menu bar at the top, Games > Add Event Definition. On the first line, beginning "When incoming string", change the dropdown box to "expression:". In the open space after it, copy and paste the following string EXACTLY (and don't worry if you aren't on some of these channels, it won't hurt anything to filter them anyway):

Then check the small box next to Omit the line of text from logs.

All messages from these channels will no longer appear in any log files you record, making logging a much cleaner and simpler affair.

Make a new event, using the same process as above and checking the Omit From Logs button, but enter the string:

^(You page-pose, *|In a page-pose to you, *|\S.{1,20} pages, *|You page, *)

This will now also filter any pages or page-poses you make or receive from log files.

A third event with the much simpler string:

^ *

will filter any OOC messages from log files.

You may also want to go to Preferences > Global Preferences, and in the Options tab click Log Options. Check the box next to Extra Carriage Return Between Lines. This will automatically doublespace any logs you make by inserting a blank line between each line of text that you log.

Hopefully this little guide will make the process of preparing and posting logs to the Marvel Revolutions wiki simple and even fun!

Okay so right now I'm in the early stages of planning the lastest plot for the game but before I can fully plan I need some volunteers! That's right, I need you! Right now I would like to see who is up for being involved in the next plot, but I can only accept one character per player for this. It is going to be a grid-wide plot and fairly large scale.

We're thinking about doing a powers only Stat System at Marvel Revolution and we'd like your opions on it. We feel it'd make powers easier to app and apply for upgrades with along with powers in combat situation.

Ex - Player A has Rank 6 Energy Projection and he's fighting someone with Rank 5 Body Armour. By one rank, Player A would be able to break through Player B's body resistance.

Ex 2 - When applying instead of along drawn out description you'd app your power and rank and what you can do with that power. Player A has Fire Generation at Rank 6. She can fly at minus one Rank and create fire contructs as the same power rank.

I've considered a player's section on the wiki where players can put a page about themselves if they'd like. Actual player pics, info that they WANT to share… what are people's opinions on this? And it would be ENTIRELY optional to each player.

Future Tags

I was curious why the tags on the future logs were being changed so they no longer linked to the main character's tags. I'm not trying to argue or cause any problems, I was just curious as to the reasoning.

I personally liked that future logs used the present character name tags, because present and future has been connected, and it's easier to follow along when it is all in one place under one tag. It is a single story, so it's nice to leave them integrated. It also makes sense because when you click the present person tag, it brings up not only the present character profile page in the list, but also the future one. It also keeps the number of tags in the tag cloud down, and that makes it less confusing and easier to find things when using it.

Just curious, and just my opinion.

The Sentinel Threat

Model Mark V

The Mark V Sentinel is a mutant-hunting robot used by the U.S. government and various secret anti-mutant groups. There are more powerful versions of the Sentinel in existence or have been but the Mark V model do not have the range of free will that went with earlier models, making them easily more controllable and less likely to turn on their masters. This version of the Sentinel was created by Shaw Industries for the U.S. Government's "Project Wideawake", an illegal anti-mutant operation headed by Henry Peter Gyrich.

Capabilities

Mutant Detection :: The heart of the Sentinel is an all-band spectrum organic analyzer. This analyzer can detect all living things within 176 yards, and determine whether or not each is human or mutant. In addition, Sentinels are tied to a central processor that relays information about particular mutants.

Flight :: Sentinels can fly up to 150mph by using jets built into their boots.

Energy Bolts :: The Sentinels have an array of electron beam guns, plasma guns, and lasers built into each hand. These blasters have a range of up to 88 yards and can cause enough damage to easily destroy stone of all kinds, iron, steel, (other Sentinel's armor) and near everything except for objects such as diamonds, super-heavy alloys and Adamantium.

Body Armor :: Each Sentinel's internal workings are protected by flexible, micro-chainmail armor which provides remarkable body armor that has the density of re-enforced concrete or steel (later models host Omnium which is one step below Adamantium).

Cold Beams :: The Mark V Sentinels can spray liquid nitrogen from their eyes. An opponent hit by this beam has a chance of being sheathed in ice that has the durability equivalence of brick, asphalt and some high-strength plastics.

Learning Program :: The greatest danger of the Sentinels is their ability to learn from mistakes, after battling an opponent for any length of time a Sentinel becomes increasingly more skilled at fighting that character.

Strength Level is at 50 tons of lifting above their heads and surprisingly Sentinels are rather 'nimble' for all their bulk just one step below being able to walk a tightrope. this showing they host decent balance.

Marvel Revolution Meet-Up

Heya! We're thinking about doing a Marvel Revolution meet-up sometime next year, not sure on when. But the idea is to get a group of us together, rent a cabin in a nice area for a week or like 5 days or something and just hang out. We can do some tabletop gaming, drinking, eating, and just general geekery. The idea right now is that we can rent a cabin in Pigeon Forge in Tennessee. I think this is a great idea. The only thing I think would be better would be moving completely away from MUF to a more modern equivalent, and that would make a lot of old-time coders weepy.

Even though this isn't RPed out, within a week of your character being at the school you will be placed on a squad along with having regular Danger Room sessions. Unfortunately us wizzes don't have time to rp out every danger room scene. But you should rp that your character has been having him and has been training.

Small Business Destroyed

A small business in lower Manhattan was bombed yesterday evening after it's closing time. The shop, a small convenience store, was said to carry goods from all over the world… in small quantities… or larger if orders were placed.

According to the owner, he knew of no one that would want to hurt his business. It thrived, regardless of the current economic state. However, shortly afterwards, a note was found at the Daily Bugle Offices claiming to be from the Friends of Humanity. In the letter, they claimed guilt in the destruction of the shop because the owner was a mutant, and as such, had no right opening a business anywhere outside of Mutant Town. Of course, it continued to say that Mutant Town needed to be obliterated, but the letter itself is in the hands of detectives for now.

When asked about his genetic status, the owner declined comment.

Summer Classes

Two of my characters will be offering Summer Classes at Xaiver's this year.

Christopher will be offering a cooking class on Tuesday's and Thursday's that runs from about 10am - 12am in the mornings. It doesn't count towards grades but aims to be a fun class for those who like to cook. The class doesn't focus on nutrition and cooking themes like in the usual school year but just focuses on the fun of cooking.

Kenta will be offering a twice a week music class on Monday and Wednesday from 10am - 12am. Any type of music and again, this class more focuses on fun and doesn't count towards grades. It's not just playing music but will also focus on discussions about different artist the students are fans of. Rumours of going to a concert are tied to this class.

This is to help elevate boredom in the summer time and give students anything to do!

((OOC: Any other classes teachers might want to do during the summer, post here! Feel free to rp your student as taking one of these classes. XD))

All those really annoying super mary-sues from writers over at Marvel. Either decent characters twisted and distorted into horrible shells of their former selves or "they've always been there, really! They were just so powerful no one ever knew about them" characters…they're a freakin' pain in the rear.

And now Dan Slott's leaping onto the train of fail with 'The Unspoken'.

Turns out he was King of the Inhumans before Blackbolt. And he was 'the greatest king ever'. And Blackbolt's cousin. Guy's apparently got hyper-reality alteration (or atleast Terrigan-Control) as his power and he can beat Blackbolt, Medusa, Gorgon, and Karnak all by himself (granted he fought the teenage versions of them but still). Well he was apparently so powerful that they can't even say his name and he had to be completely erased from history *eyerolls*.

Slott's bringing him into Mighty Avengers (as if that book didn't have enough problems). And he's gonna run rampant over Quicksilver and USAgent before going off to be part of Slott's 'ultramegaOMGchangethestatusquonothingwilleverbethesameagainZOMG!' crossover event, 'Reckoning War'.

So now we got another one. Great…

Once again, I'm doing a montage! This month, the Montage has the theme of 'Adversity'. Basically, sometime during the day of July 15th, what would your characters be doing in the face of some kind of adversity. Just how they react and how they go along. Any poses will need to be sent by July 17th at 8am so I can begin compiling. The adversity within can be any kind, whether physical (a villain), social (not knowing how to deal with people), mental (Not understanding things) etcetera. So, anyone interested, send poses by July 17, 8am EST.

Two Recent Incidents of Kidnapping

Two nights ago in Salem Center, a fight broke out between what appeared to be three super-powered individuals and several armed men. The super-powered individuals were taken down and what appeared to be arrested and taken away. Spectators claimed that the armed men showed badges and said they were part of the secret service sent to retrieve these three dangerous mutants.

Last night a similar situation broke out in Brooklyn where three super-powered individuals were taken down but spectators weren't as easy to believe that the armed men were secret service and the police were called. Unfortunately they were too late and the three super-powered individuals were taken away.

It has now been revealed that these two crimes have been linked and that someone is taking down super-powered individuals. The police are working to resolve this crime and figure out what happened. For now, if something seems suspicious, call the police. Remember, if you see something, say something.

Getting on grid
