Barnes Academy - HoloQuad

Stepping into the HoloQuad one would almost forget that they were in an underwater school. The sky changes to reflect the time of day, sunny with clouds during the day to night time reflecting what the Northern Hemisphere would look like without light pollution. Sunsets and Sunrises are even reflected in the room. It's impossible to tell there is a ceiling up there. Plant life, benches, fountains and pathways make the room look like a luxurious park and unlike the sky, the rest of the room is real. Sometimes a breeze passes buy and the room is always a comfortable temperature giving the students a way to feel like they're outside enjoying the fresh air.

There's a yell of "Got it!" in a young man's voice that comes from the mouth of a German Shephard. The dog jumps and grabs a frisbee out of the air before moving his head in a way that flings it back to a Japanese man. It's not the greatest throw but that's alright for Quetzal as he moves with a slow jog to catch the frisbee in return. The dog runs over to him and looks up at Quetzal. "So what should we try this time? Should I try starting off as a rabbit and then go to a bear?" The animal asks.

Having found her first bit of free time since being unloaded at Barnes Kisha has gone on a little wander. And while she's wearing regulation pants it seems she's decided to wear a black T-shirt covered with binary (binary that says something quite rude if translated) over whatever top she's officially supposed to be wearing. Idly throughout she pokes at her custom cellphone as she walks, marking in waypoints and other observations. It isn't until she's near blundered into potential frisbee line of fire that she stops, tilts her head and then asks "Is the dog a student?"

OOC Note -
<OOC> You say, "Okay what does the binary say?"
<OOC> Kisha says, "Roughly it'd equate to "Way to waste tax dollars, $*$""

The German Shephard shifts into a bird and lands on Quetzal's shoulder so he can look down at Kisha. "No, I'm not a student. I'm Verde." He says almost indignantly. Quetzal chuckles and holds out a hand. "I'm Agent Quetzal, or just Quetzal. I'm the language and flight teacher here. Flight as in piloting that is." He says as he walks over to a near by tree and picks up his cane to lean on it. Her shirt gets a raised eyebrow as Quetzal can read it fluently. "I'm positive that shirt isn't dress code Ms…"

"It's okay I'm wearing it over the regulation top. I didn't see anything in the handbook about not being allowed to wear items in addition to the uniform. Otherwise there would have been Shield issue undergarments," Kisha says cheerfully, glancing at Verde and then shrugging. "Ms Dorogoi. The transferee from Xaviers. Hence why I assumed your friend was another student. This room is rather interesting, no doubt I'm explicitly banned from trying to figure out how it works."

"I will let you off with a warning becaue it's your first day but wearing clothing over your Barnes uniform is not tolerable here. Especially something so insulting. Since I dobut you even pay taxes." Quetzal says. "Welcome to Barnes Ms. Dorogoi and Verde is more then a friend, he's as much a part of me as I am him." He says the bird nods in agreement. "Well as long as you don't break the room or change anything in it or act like Tech Specialist Kozlowski. I don't see a problem with learning how the holograms works in here."

"Tech specialist Kozlowski? What does he do exactly?" Kisha asks with geniune curiosity. "Actually I sort of do. It's a long story but cut short I do freelance web design stuff on behalf of a popstar. From what I remember his agent is involved in the process and thus money does get paid in tax. Although due to the charity nature of some of the site I'm sure he's claiming deductions elsewhere. But what can you do?" She shakes her head. "For the record it's only insulting to people who are too rude enough to pry too deeply. To everyone else it's just a load of zeros and ones. I must admit I didn't take into account that in a power heavy enviroment some people may read it naturally."

"It still breaks dress code rules." Quetzal says whose in uniform himself and everything is lined up and tucked in exactly as it should be. "My ability involves languages, I'm a linquist. As for what I can do, would you like the whole list or the short version?" He asks with a slight smile. "Since that is a very general question." He leans a bit on his cane and the bird lands on the ground as a bobcat. But I will assure you that Barnes Academy is not a waste of tax dollars." He says and the Bobcat speaks next. "He's Agent Corrin's partner, we haven't worked with him that much but we just know he does the tech stuff."

"I was more meaning what Tech Specialist Kozlowski changes that I shouldn't be emulating. Past experience suggests the list would inclue everything I'd consider fun," Kisha explains, nodding at bobcat form Verde. "The short version would be interesting, however I wouldn't want to pry into anything you're unwilling to tell me. That would be highly disrespectful to staff after all." And she has to save something to get herself in trouble with later after all. "Why exactly is the dress code important? We're under the sea after all. It isn't like anyone is going to spot us and think we're being scruffy."

"It's about being uniform Ms. Dorogoi. It's to teach discipline." Quetzal explains. "You'll get used to it. I've been wearing a uniform and following dresscode for a long time." But then Quetzal is a long time solider. "I am also a pilot and a trained solider. I also practice caligraphy and the piano so I can do quite a few things." He says with a grin. "The rest I can't get into too much information about. As for Tech Specialist Kozlowski he has a bit of a sense of a humour and likes to share it dispite the schools wishes."

Kisha brightens at the thought. "He sounds like someone I would approve of," she admits. "I wouldn't be shocked if the department which issues new clothing tires of the wear and tear I have on clothing long before I become enamoured with wearing it. I was attempting to get piloting lessons at my old school. Unfortunately circumstances changed while I was still undertaking the classes I'd need to complete before the teacher would accept me into the class."

"It won't excuse you from wearing a uniform." Quetzal says with a raised eyebrow. "Piloting lessons are possible here but I don't go easy on my students." He says. "I won't be teaching how to fly a jet, not right away, but basic piloting skills are possible to learn while you're a student here. I was a jet pilot in Japan's Self Defense Force about fifteen years ago."

"It will if they run out of spares," Kisha half jokes. "Of all my clothes I only have one set which received no fire or chemical damage, including various kinds of permentant stains. That one specific set was ruined by, or so I am reliably informed, some kind of demonic pumpkin monster." She waves the hand she's not holding her phone in, still typing away with just her other hands thumb. "I don't see why I would /want/ someone teaching me to fly to go easy on me. As it seems like that would be a receipe for high speed collisions with solid objects."

Quetzal smirks at Kisha's last statement and doesn't comment further on it before his face gets serious again. "How you keep your uniform is a reflection on not just you Kisha but Barnes as an Academy, I will recommend that you keep them as clean as possible. I don't know how things worked at Xavier's but you are in charge of cleaning your room and your own clothing. We do not coddle our students here." He says as leans down to pick up Verde. "Don't mind Queztal he can be a bit of an old grump at times." Says the bobcat teasingly.

Kisha glances at Verde and shrugs. "They used to have semi-regular attempts to kidnap or murder the student body. It was guilty of lot of things but I doubt coddling the students could be considered one of them," she helpfully informs with the casual acceptence so common at mutant high. "And if nothing else I can gain a near perfect knowledge of whatever appliances you have for doing laundry here. So you don't have to worry on that front. Perhaps I'll even get around to building myself a high tech version of a roomba, then my lab space can be neat and tidy all the time."

Quetzal looks down at Verde and raises his eyebrows. "I'm glad to see our new student is so modest." He says. "We do try to keep our students out of danger as we're not as open as Xavier's is. Though is the student decides to keep themselves out of danger is another story." Then with her talking of building Quetzal smiles. "There is work room and a hanger bay here, though I think the work room will have more things for building machinery."

"Oh I'm sure my file says many things about me. Modest is unlikely to be one of them however," Kisha replies with lazy indifference. "And by the sound of it you share the common view that bedroom and work room are two distinct concepts. To me there is an entirely unrequired travelling step in the process. One which is literally genetically intollerable for me."

"I haven't read your file yet Ms. Dorogoi. I only read student files if I find it neccessary." Queztal says as he doesn't think it's that necessary as he isn't a councelor or anything. "Well just be curtious with your roommate, or if you do not have one yet when you get a roommate. Unfortunately I must be going. I have a few things I have to attend to. If you have any questions you can find me to answer them." He says with a nod as he lets Verde shift into a mouse and sit on his shoulder.

"We shall see," Kisha offers, as close to a commitment she's willing to give on that front. "After all who knows what the future shall bring." After all she expects to have been kicked out for one thing or another long before it becomes an issue. "It was an experience meeting you both and I'll be sure to take you up on the offer if required." With a wave, this time actually stopping her cellphone typing, she turns and resumes her exploration.
