Xavier Mansion - Right Path

A brick path off the courtyard cuts through the grass to lead to the other areas on the outside grounds of Xavier's. There are a few benches that line the path so students can sit and enjoy outside. Either side of the path the grass is well manicured and has enough room for students to have a picnic, play Frisbee, or relax and study. At night there are small lamps that raise three feet off the ground to provide light.

Late night. Most of the students are asleep and that's perfectly fine with Addison. Sure, he gets the occasional dreamthoughts his way, but he's not right now. Right now, he's laying softly on a bench, relaxing on the paths around the mansion. It's one of those rare moments that he just has to himself.

Late night in the mansion, not much stuff happens, Brian enjoys the night. The young adult is taking a stroll outside tonight. He may be heard approaching. His mind is focused and not really loud tonight, he's been doing more and more meditation lately.

Despite not having loud thoughts, certain people can always be sensed, because they're often in the minds of others. As Brian approaches, Addison's eyes flick towards him. A smile forms across his face. "Hello." He says softly, not moving from his position just yet. "Nice evening." One could say romantic, if one were of that variety.

"Oh…hey." Brian says to Addison as he stops. "Yeah, it is. I like this time of night. It's peaceful." The energy wielder says as he moves closer to Addison.

"And quiet. Physically and mentally." Addison says with a nod, sitting up and offering the other half of the bench to Brian. "You can join me, if… you like." He offers. Thank goodness for the evening's darkness, otherwise, there'd be a visible blush. "I've been thinking about things." he says simply. Which things, he doesn't specify. Just things.

Brian moves to sit next to Addison, avoiding direct eye contact. "About what?" He asks, he likes to be specific, just comes with the intelligence. He doesn't mention what he's been doing recently either, though it may just be something uninteresting.

"You." Addison says with a nod before catching himself. "Your powers. How they work. I'm coming up with a few ideas." There would be that blush again. The first was honestly said, but so was the second. He doesn't refrain from looking, himself. "How are you doing?"

"Me? Really?" His face starts to blush. His breathing gets a bit shallow. "Like what ideas?" His first impression was something different, given their last interaction. "I've…been alright."

"Yeah." Addison says quickly. He won't lie about it. "We'll have to test them in the danger room sometime. I've got a few ideas on how your power may work well." He grins, turning slightly to have a better view of Brian. "Maybe sometime next week. I'm getting assignments to students nowadays, so… we have to mesh our schedules. Or, just for… having some time to talk."

"Ahh, that's pretty cool." He says, looking to Addison now. "My schedule is pretty much open. So if you want to… just find me and We could try it." He doesn't say anything about the time to talk, but on the topic he does. "Talk about what?" He asks.

"You? Your interests? Your wants and goals? Sorry. I just want to get to know you." Addison admits, looking down. "I don't know what it is about you. You just seem like someone I want to know." He shrugs a bit. "Sorry…" He repeats.

"I'm not that interesting anymore." He says, his life's been steadily less interesting since the horsemen incident. "My interests are staying in my room, working on technology and not using the invitation to attend the school I wanted to go to. One person in my family still talks with me. And that one person thinks that I need to find help." He shakes his head. "No, he's just looking out for me." Looking to Addison again, Brian gives a nod. "I feel…kinda the same."

"Ohthankgoodness. I was scared that my thought scared you that night." Addison laughs softly, nodding. "Well, good then. And I'm sure there are other things that you're interested in, beyond just staying in your room. Try not having your family in your dimension, except the woman who didn't know she was your mother until a few months ago." He says with a grin before shaking his head. "Nah, I chose this."

Brian looks to Addison. "You did…at first. But then…" He says, cutting off eye contact with Addison. "It's been a while since I had a real good time with anyone." He looks down to his hand and attempts to take Addison's hand. He's never felt this way with another guy before, so is a bit confused.

Addison's hand is there. He looks up, giving a bit of a gasp as Brian takes it. Though, he smiles happily, he's a little bit on the shaky side. "I've… never felt that I wanted to get to know someone like that… ever. I mean… I missed a lot of my younger life. The early dating scene and all of that. So, I'm… very lost on things." He admits, squeezing the hand slightly.

"I was a popular kid…before I umm, destroyed the gym…" Brian admits. "But after that, no one wanted to be near me. So I'm just a little less lost than you." He can feel the heat of the two hands together, it's a little intoxicating. "I uhh, never really felt like this for a guy before…"

"Like I said. Not anyone, so I didn't really have anything to base it on." Addison admits softly. "Having the thoughts of the world in my head, I saw everything, so I have very little that surprises me, unless it's my own feelings." He squeezes the hand again, thankful that he's not causing extra heat right now, with his powers. He scoots in a little closer. Hey, they're already holding hands, why not?

Brian looks down at the hands held in unison. "I'm not used to people being interested in me. It's been a weird couple of years." The energy user looks at Addison and scoots in so he's right next to Addison. He feels a connection to him, on a deep level. "I want to know you too."

"It's easier for me to explain." Addison says with a soft nod. "At least, the last few years. Control. Plain and simple. But before that, well… we have time later." He admits, looking up with a grin. "We have plenty of time to go over things. And I'm more than glad to share." He nods again. "I… will admit. There are times when I won't know what to say or do, but…"

Keeping the eye contact, Brian asks. "But what?" He asks, enjoying this moment for now. The mixture of adrenaline, and dopamine in his brain has him on cloud nine.

"I may make mistakes." Addison says softly. "But it doesn't mean I MEAN to. If… you understand?" He adds as a question after. "Sorry, I'm being self conscious. I probably shouldn't be." The telekine looks to Brian and offers a smile while his free hand brushes his hair back.

"Like what kind of mistakes?" He asks, again, still looking to Addison. "I get that way too, it comes with the territory I think."

"I… I don't know. I don't know what's right and wrong in… uhm… well, getting to know someone, dating, and… stuff." Addison shrugs, giving a chuckle afterwards. "Thank you." He says. That's all he can really figure out to say.

"That's alright, I know how it works somewhat." The energy manipulator stands up, still holding on. "I umm, want to see you again, real soon. But I gotta go right now." He lets go of the hand. "I'll see you real soon." He says, looking to go down to the woods.

"Me, too." Addison admits. It's funny. All these teenagers in the dorms know more about what they're doing than Addison does, but he's happy. And it's bleeding off of him. "I should try for sleep myself." He says, offering a half wave as he heads for his own room, just rising and heading to the window instead.
