Xavier Mansion - Woods
Pine, Oak, Birch, and many other trees can be found in these woods. Paths lead all through out them for students to take walks. The occasional bench can be found along the paths. Students shouldn't worry about wandering too deep in these woods as its almost impossible for them to get lost here.
It's late night around the Xavier Mansion, and all students /should/ be in bed right now. But it's the summer and rules are getting a bit lax around this time of the vacation. In the forest, or more to the point, near the top of it; sits Kael atop a tree. His cellphone getting spun between his fingers as the aerokinetic just looks up at the nightsky. He's been up there for a good long bit now, hasn't moved much.
And as usual, Bobby is out and about for his daily (or nightly, in this case) walk around the school grounds. He had done it once awhile back, figured it was a good way to blow off steam…so he's done it ever since. He strolls in the general direction of the forest, hands shoved in the pockets of his jeans as he sings at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing off the trees. "THOSE WERE…THE GOOD OL' DAYS…THOSE WERE THE GOOD OL' DAYS….THE YEARS GO BY BUT THE MEMORY STAYS…AND THOSE WERE THE GOOD OL' DAYS…" He doesn't yet notice Kael atop the tree, though Kael could probably hear him.
The music, or in this case yowling, can he heard atop the trees and KAel just lets out a soft laugh as he spots Bobby down below. He pulls his phone back up and pulls up Bobby's number. Shooting him a text that reads: Look up. :before Kael waits for him to look at his phone. When he does, he just waves down at him with a call of his name.
ing XD"
Bobby notices his phone going off as he receives the text. Removing the phone from his pocket, he flips it open and peers down at the screen curiously. "Look up," he mutters softly, reading it aloud to himself. "Hmm." He rubs his chin thoughtfully, before his eyes move up towards the sky, and he looks around for the source of the mysterious text. Eventually, he spots Kael. "Dude, I know how much you love omelettes, but…there are easier ways to get some eggs, man. Seriously…" he grins.
Kael lets out a soft laugh as he replies with. "What if I'm not looking for eggs. What if I'm just trying to think of answers." Answers to what? The aerokinetic looks back up at the sky as a wind curls around the tree for a brief moment before dissipating.
Bobby gives a shrug, "Everyone loves eggs. It's just a fact of life. Some people just go a bit further than others to try and find em…I figured you were one of those people. Guess I was wrong…" he mock-frowns, before giving a chuckle. He leans against one of the trees, folding his arms against his chest with a light sigh. "Answers, eh? What, do I look like Alex Trebek down here?"
The aerokinetic slips off of the tree, almost looking like he's falling but it's too slow for that. Kael floats down to the ground, landing next to one of the trees near Bobby. "Well, they're school related. Kinda." He smirks a bit, "With Rashmi graduated and off working with a law-firm. It got me thinking about what I'm going to do when I graduate. I can't think of anything that I'd want to do."
Bobby raises his eyebrows in interest as Kael slowly floats back to the ground. "Ah. Well, I can understand being contemplative about school issues. You got a LOT of decisions to make, buddy…so I don't blame ya for being stressed. Lord knows it happens to be 6 out of 7 days of the week…" he grins. "The seventh day is when I go to the waterpark. It's a 'stress stay the hell away from me' day. You'd be amazed at how good waterslides are at kicking the crap out of lingering thoughts." Bobby chuckles softly as he glances at Kael with amusement. "Well, you could always work at Burger Trench and clean out the grease traps…lots of advancement in that field, I hear," he jokes.
Kael quirks a brow at the joke before he lets out a soft laugh. "Honestly, I don't think I could take working at a place like that. I think Emma might have to wipe minds when I blow the place up from the inside out." He snickers softly before he says, "I haven't been to a waterpark in /ages/. I wish I could go, but I don't have a car of my own." Rightfully so. He looks over at Bobby and says, "What'd you do when you graduated? Did you stay here? Or go to college."
Bobby laughs. "Yeah, Emma hates having to do that. Trust me, I know from experience…" He clears his throat. "Ahem. Anyways. Yeah man, if you ever wanna hit the waterpark, just gimme a ring. It's actually a lot more fun with more than one person. And ya don't need a car when you can slide around on ice, y'know? Beats having to make car payments n'stuff." Bobby grins. At the question, he looks perplexed for a moment, his eyes showing that he seems to be thinking about the question. "Well…I guess you could say I pretty much stuck around here and decided to take up teaching you wild n'crazy guys. I thought it'd be best not to leave Xavier's at the time."
Kael blinks a bit. "You mean, I can stay here after I've graduated and help out?" That seems to shine a whole new direction on things for the teen before he looks back up at Bobby and grins. "Oh, I'll definitely be giving you a ring for a water park ride. Might have to drag Max along for it. I think he's been cooped up inside for a bit cause of the heat." He chuckles a bit before he looks back up at Bobby, "Plus, I don't think it'd be great for me to leave when I haven't fully grasped my powers yet." And it's possible he never will.
Bobby gives a nod in agreement. "Yeah, dude, you know you're more than welcome to stick around here. Nobody's forcing ya out with a broomstick or anything. Actually, most of the students decide to stick around for a least a little bit." He shrugs, "I guess it's because it's pretty difficult to leave something you've known for so long." Bobby offers Kael a reassuring smile…"And you know this is the place to be when it comes to trying to learn about your powers. I doubt you'd get that at some namby pamby University."
Kael smiles warmly. "That's good. So much stuff's been getting crammed into my head I keep on forgetting that this place is like my home now." He looks around the forest and smirks, "Well, not the forest. But you get what I mean." He shrugs with a soft laugh before he looks back up at the sky, "I heard of another academy, Barnes I think it was. I know that they're like us, but a bit more… up tight." He looks back at Bobby and says, "Though I'd much rather stay here."
Bobby hmms. "Well, if you're gonna live in the forest, just don't go running around in a loincloth, swinging on vines and yelling at the animals. We've already got Logan," he jokes with a grin. He looks around for a moment. "Eh, don't ever tell him I said that, k? If you did, then I'd be the one swinging from a vine, haha…" Bobby grins. "And yah, if you want uptight, I could always call Scott into the room. He's got plenty of it to spare." He reaches over to pat Kael on the shoulder. "We're glad to have ya stick around, pal. The more the merrier, as I always say." He pauses. "Well, I don't ALWAYS say that." Pause again. "OK fine. I -never- say that."
Kael lets out a bright laugh before he says, "Scott's my squad leader. Believe me, I get enough uptightness from him. Even on Saturday mornings." Yes, even the holy ground for teens everywhere. The pat on the shoulder makes him chuckle a bit before he says, "Oh, I'll definitely stay here. Besides, I don't think an academy is right for someone who likes to be as free as the wind." Well, nearly as free as it.
Bobby waves a hand dismissively. "On Saturday mornings I don't even realize it when he walks into the room. I'm too busy watching my cartoons and having my BooBerry cereal. Best…stuff…evar…" he nods his head emphatically. "And if Scott ever tries to give you a case of the uptighties, just smile at him and say 'lighten up, Scotty', then turn around and walk away." Bobby pauses to think the idea over, then shakes his head after a moment. "Y'know what, forget it. I think that only works for me." He grins.
Kael blinks and laughs before saying with a grin, "I think if I did that, I'd be tossed into detention faster before I could say Sorry." He leaps up into the air, boosting himself up to sit on a low branch as he says, "Honestly, I've gotten used to the training in the morning. I just spend most of the afternoon lazing about before I go outside and practice on my own. Usually to music."
Bobby shrugs. "Hey, it's cool. Even if you do get detention, I'm usually the one who gets stuck supervising it, so…" Bobby gives a mischievous grin. "The whole purpose of detention is completely lost when I wheel in the TV and put on some cartoons. I figure hey, it keeps ya out of trouble, so why the hell not?" Bobby nods, "And yeah, I usually do most things set to music. Even when I'm walking down the street with my headphones on, sometimes I'll pretend I'm in some big movie or something and walk along with the beat." He laughs. "I'm such a lame-o."
Kael grins wide as he learns this. "I might have to get some detention then. If I want to have some relaxation time that is." He snickers a bit before he pulls out an iTouch with headphones hanging from it from a pocket on his shorts. "I usually practice with my powers listening to Pendulum. I try to see if I can make waves or blasts of wind to the beats of the music."
