Xavier Mansion - Scott Summer's Office

You see nothing out of place. Neat freak.

After the events of a couple nights ago, Scott moved his appointment with Kael up a little. Wanting to talk about that, and get Kael's say in this whole ordeal. The office is quite the same, dark woods, large bookshelves, and one grand mahogany desk. A computer sits cantered on the desk, to allow for Cyclops to look at whoever is in front of him as he sits. An assortment of drinks is next to the desk, inviting students to keep hydrated and take a load off during their time with the Headmaster, perhaps not so much as if there is a disciplinary issue.

There's a knock at the door, Kael standing outside of it as he lets out a sigh sigh. The teen is wearing his training uniform, he's opted to take the sleeves off of the shirt; though he's wearing normal shorts with it. The shirt itself has the yellow X on the back rather than the front. Once the headmaster allows him to enter, Keal moves towards one of the seats in front of the desk. Already having guessed something in his mind about how this is going to go.

"Kael, have a seat." He says, missing the usual foreboding demeanor. Scott finishes up one last bit of information before he looks over to Kael. "Tell me about the 7-11." He says, knowing what he did from Julian's report. Scott's not interested in punishing the young mutant for defending himself, but he does want to get the facts straight.

Kael reaches into his pocket and pulls out the crumbled, if sandy receipt from said 7-11. "All I was doing is getting some snacks to bring back here. You know, stock up for the late nights of studying and all that." He puts it on Scott's desk before he continues on, "Then Dingo appears and starts to wreck the place to go after the policemen who were there. I stepped in, defending them; then the fight broke out. I called for help, and Julian came. Course, the building got damaged. But, I wasn't the cause of any of that."

The Headmaster looks over the receipt, handing it back to Kael after it is reviewed. "Sounds all in order. He was fighting the police. You decided to step in and when things became heated, you called for help." Scott types some notes on his keyboard before going back to Kael. "From now on, if you see Dingo, call for help immediately. Dingo is everything that we try to stop. He gives mutants a bad name." But that's for a later day. Scott then brings up a legal pad and paper. "Anyway, I wanted to ask you how you feel about Xavier's. You know, do you feel like you're learning enough? Is there something you feel we need to change?" A serious question, one that Scott's more than confident will have a serious answer.

Kael lets out a soft laugh. "Well, to be honest. Our powers seemed to cancel each other out. Wind and sand. But, I understand. I'll punch that panic button the moment I see him." He blinks at the question, and then smirks softly as he says, "I've only been here for over a year. And in that time, I've learned so much. In powers, and in schooling. It's easier to learn here than a normal place for me." Might be because everyone has powers, and has to deal with them. "As for anything to change, I really can't think of much. I mean, you guys can't protect us from /everything/. But, you're doin' yer best."

Scott is relieved to hear Kael's response to how they try their best. At times he felt that the students were all against the faculty here. "And you have had leaps and bounds since you've been here. I'm glad that you feel like you can really learn here. Now…" Scott finishes jotting down some notes before moving on to the next question. "So, as you know, we are getting close to the new year. And I want to get the Corsairs' opinion on what kinds of things we should be covering in training. Do you have anything you'd like to throw in the hat?"

Kael leans back into the chair, smiling softly, "Well, I have to say part of the leaps and bounds were somewhat aided by the faculty here. Really couldn't have done it without them. Specially you, sir." At the next question, the smile fades before he falls silent for a few moments. "We've two new members to the team. One who knows what he can do, the other who's still learning. Maybe power development?" He shrugs a bit before he says, "I'd be all for learning more defensive blocks to use in conjunction with my powers. I don't know about the others."

Cyclops gives a soft smile when he is given a compliment. "I'm glad that you feel that way, Kael. I really am." He says, before he goes to jotting down more notes. "I had a thought about defensive moves with you. But I'll get to that during one on one training. If you don't mind, being one of the upperclassmen, I'm going to have you and some of the others do a little demonstration at the beginning of the year. Since we have two new students, we need to focus on teamwork, and /leadership/." He emphasizes that last bit, perhaps dangling a little incentive to Kael.

Kael leans forward in the chair as Scott emphasizes the leadership portion. A white brow quirks before he says, "I wouldn't mind being one of the upperclassmen. But, what exactly would I be doing? Role model? Co-Leader?" He tilts his head a bit before he grins, "One on one training? That… sound like a good bit of fun." Painful fun. But fun.

"Well, there may some ways we can start in on leadership. Not necessarily a co-leader, but something different." Scott looks to the aerokinetic. "One on one training, a bit more combat focused than we can do with all of the others in. It may be more than one, maybe two advanced students. But with a lower number, I can focus on you guys without the others getting bored."

Kael lets out a soft ah before he nods. He looks off to the side, grabbing a drink from the table before he says, "I think I might like that. I mean, I do try and help when I can." Granted, some things that happen make even him just stare and shake his head. "And I think I may benefit from the one on one training as well."

The energy projector gives a nod. "Of course, I think you'll learn a lot more working in that kind of environment." Scott finishes with his notes before moving on. "So, is there anything that you want to ask me? Anything at all?"

Kael smirks a bit, "I guess I'll have to wait and see then, hm?" He sits up, draining the rest of his water before he hms a bit, thinking of or trying to think of questions to ask. He looks back up at Scott, and says, "A while ago, I was talking with… Bobby." A slight pause for the confusion of which name to use. "And I've been wondering. What exactly can I do here after I graduate? I mean, I'd love to stay here and help out."

"Well, there are some things you can do, what have you been thinking of doing? Moving on to college? Teaching?" He's not exactly sure of Kael's plans, but Xavier's has plenty of options for their alumni. And Scott can attest to the power of this place. It makes you want to give something back.

Kael just shrugs a bit, "I don't know what I could do. Other than having firsthand knowledge of how to deal with a power. I'm not that great in much of anything." If anything his grades are average, if slightly above par. With the only grade that's above the rest being anything that requires creativity and physical activity. Even then, they aren't outstanding.

Scott gives a small grimace. "Well, take a look at what you've got, but you've got to decide on what you want to do. It has to be your decision." He's quite firm on that remark. "But in the meantime, enjoy the last bit of summer." He says, standing up.

A soft nervous laugh comes from the aerokinetic before he stands up as well, giving a small nod towards Scott. "I'll think on it. Maybe I'll come up with it by the end of the year." He smiles a bit before he says, "Thank you, sir. I'll try." With that, he starts to head towards the door.
