Tegu-Haaz - Xavier's Insane Asylum for Adolescents
A large mansion stands on top of a hill made of red brick. Turrets and towers just from the building marked 'Xavier's Insane Asylum for Adolescents'. Gargoyles hang from various edges of the roof, their mouths gaping open and wings spread. The path runs up past the gates and circles around to the front doors. There is a statue of a woman in the center of the lawn the pathway circles. Off to the side is an old horse carriage with a small cell in the back designed to lock animals, or people, in. Pathways lead to other areas of the grounds of the Insane Asylum. The gate seems to circle the outside of the area locking those inside that it can..
It's been a long few days for James. After getting word that Connor and crew were about to arrange a visit using 'extreme prejudice,' the would-be Hyena and Jinx have been hiding inside the vast Asylum staying out of the way of the others. Now, in a rare moment of respite, the currently human-looking student and his recently injured friend take a moment to rest on the back of the property looking a little worse for wear. Wearing an altered straight jacket, the teen lays against a tree, mind elsewhere.
Even though he was up here earlier at the graveyard, Robyn's back and by himself. After he dropped Star off at the Slaughtered Lamb, he's come back for two reasons, one he's hoping to find James and Jinx and two, he feels drawn to something about the Asylum. Walking through the gates dressed in clothes he's found around, he cautiously walks towards the building. "James? Jinx?" He calls out trying to find his friends.
Jinx is human. Sandy blonde and a little on the chunky side, Jinx wears the form that her image inducer has sometimes shown. She leans against a tree, her arms crossed over her chest. She has commandeered a lab coat from somewhere and has fashioned a bandoleer of restraint webbing that holds various implements of sharpened rusty metal and glass. "I need you to find a shovel," she is telling James in a very pointed tone. "And we will need to find a whiskey bottle and a length of twine. 30 feet should do nicely," she lifts her head to the sound of the voice, her eyes sharpening and her mouth drawn into a tight line.
James is snapped back to reality, or what's passing for it now a days. He grunts in response and goes back to his previous activity…checking twigs for straightness, "Have you had a chance to consider what I said earlier? That something isn't right? It's as if we're on the wrong side of something." He looks up from his stick and sees Robyn. Reaching over to tap Jinx, he motions towards the other's form.
Like usual Robyn's carrying the axe with him but tucked into the back of his belt, especially since there was the zombie attack up here earlier. "Hey, I just wanted to see how you two were holding out up here since…well, there was an attack that happened earlier up here." Also Robyn's been wanting to come up here but it hasn't worked out so well. "I've been worried about you guys."
Jinx uncrosses her arms and moves in response to James' poke. Her fingers flex, adopting a forced relaxed posture as she steps forward towards Robyn. "We're managing quite well, Robyn," she says, though the name feels foreign in her mouth. She cants her head to James, nodding slow. "I am beginning to see your point."
James watches the interaction between the two carefully, ever-so mindful of the axe and the person attached to it. At Jinx words, the teen blinks a few times and puts down the stick and looks back up as if seeing the other kid for the first time, "Hey. What's up?" He looks over at Jinx, "Have you had a chance to consider what I said earlier? That something isn't right? It's as if we're on the wrong side of something."
Robyn can't help but look at James and Jinx for a bit, getting used to their appearance and at least he hopes that is Jinx since it sounds like her voice. He is quiet for a bit before finally answering James' 'what's up'. "I can't stay at the farmhouse." He says as he doesn't feel like he belongs there and it's been getting worse. He doesn't feel like he can trust anyone there especially with what's been going on and he keeps feeling like he's missing something.
"Why not? Do you have a problem with the inhabitants?" she asks, cocking her head to the side. Her eyes level on the boy, her gaze a constant. "James, something is definately not right, but then again, it's more right than it's ever been. I need a shovel, and some sack cloth, and a length of twine…. 30 feet should do." Her fingers twitch, knuckled cracking.
At the list request, James nods and grunts before standing up..but then stops and looks over at Robyn, "You just say something? Oh, right…yeah well…I don't suggest staying at the Asylum either. We were threatened over it by…" He tries to recall the name for a moment, "Uhh…it's not important." Looking over at Jinx he asks, "Sounds like the same list from out west. Why do you think it will be that bad?" He raises an eyebrow, as if, for a moment considering the fact he has never been out west. And surly not with Jinx.
"I don't belong there, I don't belong with them." Robyn says. He doesn't know if he belongs with anyone here but the farmhouse is just too much for him. He then looks at the two and feels like he doesn't belong anywhere and that he's probably best off alone. "Sorry to bother you guys." He says as he turns and starts to wander off leaving the two to talk on their own. He doesn't leave the Asylum grounds but he doesn't seem to want to bother with his 'friends' anymore.
Jinx mms softly, narrowing her gaze on Robyn. She edges away from the tree, stepping sideways. "Was it the West, or was it the time in Prague?" she asks of the boy, having certainly never been to either places with her native memory. Or maybe not. "It doesn't matter. We still need the items," she looks to Robyn as he goes to leave, but doesn't say anything.
"Later," James says nonchalantly, adding a second farewell, "Another time." He looks back over at Jinx and nods, "Alright. I think I saw a store in town. I'll start there. As Robyn wonders off, he looks over at the once-was skunk, "Someone you know?"
Robyn's back is to Jinx and James when he over hears James say 'someone you know?' and he winces. He does't turn around but he does speak up. "Yeah, I am someone you know." He doesn't turn around but he goes to wander inside the Asylum, disappearing from sight.
Jinx nods her head to James. "Sometime, I think we knew him," she pauses, hands on her hips. As he disappears, she huffs a breath. "Well! About that shovel…"
