Xavier Mansion - Quad

There is a square side walk of pavement with a nice grassy area in the middle with a few stone benches and trees along the corners. The pavement leads to the paths to the grounds of the school, the Dining Hall in Xavier's and the Ramsey Dormitories. It's not particularly large but it's a nice place for students and teachers to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

There was a message to Lucas to meet Kenta out in the quad and that's where Kenta is. He's sitting on one of the benches with a cigarette in hand and a bag next to him. He enjoys the smoke as he waits as he's finally made arrangements for Lucas's punishment and he wants to let him know what it is. Also Kenta has some other things address with Lucas as well.

Lucas wanders into the quad wearing the same clothes he had on earlier, the cargo shorts and wife beater. He's got his gloved hands in his pockets, and he kicks a few stones as he wanders over and sits down beside Kenta. He looks off down the path. "Hey."

Kenta pats the bench next to him and indicates Lucas to sit down. "A few things Lucas, but first, we gotta get this punishment out of the way. It's not going to be any physical labor and it's going to involve this" he says as he hands the bag to Lucas and inside he'd notice there are a few children's books aimed for kids around the age five to six.

Lucas lets the bag be sat in his lap, but he doesn't look inside, instead, holding his gaze on Kenta. "Before Ah look at this and learn my punishment, Ah wanna say somethin', and then ask you a question." He swallows, licking his lips, "All of the facts fit my suspicions. Ah learned something was possessing James, an' Ah tried to tell you but couldn't outright because he was threatening me. As soon as Ah could, Ah DID involve you. Ah thought Connor was possessed too, and he was. If Addison hadn't kept is secret, THAT issue wouldn't have existed. Instead, it matched with the Jameselene facts and looked like something else. My theory was solid, Kenta." He sighs, and he tilts his head, "My question is… If'n Ah had been right, an' Connor WAS a henchmen of Jameselene and Ah caught him… Would my punishment be different?"

Kenta listens to Lucas and allows him to speak and once he does, he shakes his head. "No, see you stole sedative Lucas, was the cause good, I'd say yes. Hell, I probably would have done it at your age too. You weren't wrong Lucas, off the mark but not wrong. Your hearts in the right place, I will give you that and you're worried about your friends, which is noble. You're going through a lot, and I'm sorry about that. I'm trying to sort the two issues in my head myself with James on one end and Connor on the other. And between us, he's gonna get people killed if he doesn't start trusting others." It's just a frustration that Kenta vents to a student he's grown fond of. "Lucas though, you're hot headed, rash and you act before you think. What I'm punishing you for is the theft and nothing more. Now, for the next several weeks, once a week at the Public Library, I've volunteered you to read to the kids there. It'll be one hour a day, once a week, till the end of August. I signed Armande up for the group so I'll know if you skip out or not."

Lucas sighs, and looks down at his feet. "Ah meant what Ah said earlier. About the teachers 'round here." He looks back at Kenta. "Ah trust you, because you give a shit." He swallows, looking up at the sky a moment, then back at his feet. "Ah hate kids."

"You hate being social, I know. Now it wouldn't be a punishment if you liked it, would it." Kenta doesn't believe in a punishment that someone doesn't get nothing out of, he believes it should be something they learn from which is why the last 'punishment' he gave Lucas was the music lessons. "I do give a shit about you Lucas, maybe cause I see a bit of myself in you, that you that you've buried deep down inside. You're a good kid, you're not dumb. Like I said you're hot headed but not dumb. You've got a good heart."

"Whatever." Lucas sighs, sitting there for nearly a minute in silence, before he looks a bit in the bag. Then he sits the bag of books beside him, and leans his elbows on his knees. "Do you think that's really possible?" He looks at Kenta, squinting in the bright sun. "Me. Leader of X-Force?"

Kenta reaches over and ruffles Lucas hair with a smile. "You never know Lucas, it could happen. But I'm gonna give you a bit of advice, live for the now, not what someone says you will be. Take it for what you will. Take that you have the potential Lucas. Sure, you could do it some day but you gotta work for it. Just because someone said that's what you will be, doesn't make it so."

Lucas nods, and he smirks a bit at the ruffling. He looks over at Kenta, "Ah know. Just… The idea that Ah COULD never realy occurred to me. Heh." He shrugs, looking back at his shoes. "Maybe, huh?" He smiles, and nods once more. "So… Ah been thinking…" He looks at Kenta, "About your offer to stay…"

"You can be anything you put your mind to Lucas, don't sell yourself short." Then there's a smile as Lucas talks about his offer. "Oh yeah, so what discussion did you come to?" He says almost eager for the answer.

Lucas looks back at his shoes. "Well… Ah still can't turn my hands off. But… Ah maybe…" He smiles, looking back at Kenta, "have a lead on changin' that. So… Ah kinda… applied to take courses online with Rockefeller University in New York." He looks back off across the path. "So Ah can stay here."

Kenta nods with a smile. "Good, glad to hear it. And glad to hear your on the right path with changing how your power is. That's great Lucas. And online courses are smart." Kenta then asks him, "So what about teachers aide, you gonna take me up on that or pass?"

With another smirk, Lucas looks at Kenta, "Does it pay?" He chuckles, "Seriously… If'n Addison will lemme stay, yeah. Ah reckon so." He sighs, "Just… don't get all mushy on me, okay?"

"Actually it does." Kenta says as it might surprise him. "And it's not up to Addison, it's up to Emma and Scott. And I'm gonna get so mushy on you Lucas." Kenta says reaching in to give him a hug just to mess with him. "Too bad I didn't cry at your graduation to say 'my little Paragon is growing up'." Yeah he's purposefully being a pain in the arse.

Lucas squirms, "Stop it!" He fights a laugh, and wiggles out of the hug. "Someone might see," he says, scowling. "Don't make me change my mind."

"Don't worry Lucas, if someone sees they won't think you're gay since I'm straight." How that make sense, who knows but Kenta laughs. "Alright I gotta head inside and see Armande. Thrusday, starts your reading at the library, I'll be taking you there at eleven am." He says as he ruffles Lucas's hair and starts to wander off. "Lucas, just believe in your self and you can do it."

Lucas yanks away from the ruffling, but laughs a bit. "Blah Blah Blah… Good bye, Kenta," he says, dismissing Kenta in that teenager way, watching him go.
