Xavier Mansion - Living Room

Cream colored couches and chairs are placed among end tables and a coffee table. A large entertainment center covers one of the blue walls. The windows are set back a bit creating comfortable window seats for those who want to read.

Heather is sitting in the living room on one of the chairs, with a few of her journals on the coffee table in front of her. She's idly chewing her nails as she stares at one of the blank pages, but she does not look like she's particularly well. It looks like her eyes are a bit red, but currently her face has otherwise taken on a stony and focused expression.

For the last few days Robyn's been in a great mood and it seems to show as he walks into the living room whistling quite poorly. "Heather! I have something I gotta…." His voice trails off as he looks at her. Robyn's not used to seeing Heather seem emotional as indicated by her red eyes. He sits down next to her and gives his friend a concerned look. "Heather, everything okay?"

Heather looks up from her papers and pulls her tape recorder off from around her neck, "What is something you gotta?" She raises her brow slightly before she says, "I'm feeling very unprepared right now. It has not been a very good day."

"Don't worry about it, my news can wait so I don't gotta tell you anything right now." Robyn says. "What are you unprepared for?" He asks as he puts a hand on her shoulder. "I've never seen you look like this Heather."

"I read a news story, my parents have escaped their detainment. I knew it was inevitable, but…" She shuts her eyes tight and grips her hair tight for a moment before making another message, "I think they will destroy me in unimaginable ways."

Robyn's face grows long at that and he goes to hug Heather. "I'm sorry Heather." He says pulling back. "But, you got me and Connor and Rashmi and Chloe and the rest of your friends to help you with this. We won't let them destroy you." He says and nods with determination. "You've got friends and the school now."

"You don't know what they are like…" says Heather, frowning slightly, "Which is not to say I do not have hope in my friends here. All the hope I /have/ is in my friends here. I seldom experience fear, but they terrify me."

Robyn shakes his head in agreement. "No, I don't know what they're like but I know what they did to you." Or at least what she's shared along with seeing her social skills. "But you helped me in that other realm so I am going to do what I can to help you and make sure that they don't hurt you. I know Connor will too."

"I sincerely hope that you are successful," says Heather, nodding once, and shutting the journal in front of her. She quickly rubs her eyes and then adds, "But if they ensnare you, be careful. Be vigilant. They will try to trick your senses, but do not let them trick your mind."

Robyn nods to Heather. "I've been working on mental defense and I'll be on my guard. Just because I won't be here in a few months doesn't mean I won't look out for you. You're my friend and I don't want to see you have to go through anything like that."

"I am probably more well suited for it than most to be their victim. It is difficult to outsmart my parents, they are both clever, but it can be done…" She rubs her face with her hands, "I appreciate your concern very much, Robyn. I wish I could be more calm about this."

"Your supervillain parents escaped from jail you have every right to be anything but calm." Robyn says. "Well anything you can tell me or the others about your parents would be appricated, so we can be prepared."

"My mother, Upgrade, can make people significantly more powerful, which she does constantly with my father, Mindbender. She also seems unaffected by most mutant powers… My father he can… rearrange reality in your senses. Sometimes it's subtle, and sometimes it's not. I'm not entirely sure which is which, but it can be hard to determine his environments from so-called 'real' environments," plays Heather without hesitation, like it's already been recorded, before continuing, "They are inhuman, and do not actually experience any emotions they display."

Robyn squeezes Heather's shoulder gently. "We should let as many people here know about them as possible, the more people looking out for your parents the better. They sound like terribly frighting people to grow up with, I'm sorry you got such crappy parents."

Heather nods at Robyn quickly and plays, "I hope to inform as many people as possible, yes. They are a danger not only to me, but to anyone who associates with me. Or really, anyone. I guess while I perceive them as victimizing me, they're probably pretty indiscriminate."

"You know them better than anyone." Robyn says as frown. "I'm really sorry you have to go through this Heather. You don't deserve something like this to weigh on you. You're a good person." He says as he offers her a reassuring smile. "Do you know if they're here in New York?"

"I have no idea where they are. The news article says nothing about it," plays Heather, shrugging a couple of times, "I wouldn't be surprised. They escaped awhile ago, but a press release was only issued recently…" She scratches her head and lets out a squeak, "In any case, you should tell me the thing. My curiosity is piqued, and I do not need extra thoughts on my mind."

Nodding one last time at Heather's words Robyn says one last thing in a fool's attempt to be optimistic. "Well maybe your parents don't know you're in New York?" He shrugs before he takes the subject change. "Oh, I got my acceptance letter back. I'm going to be going to art school next year, Parson's school of design. I'm really excited for it."

"They may not, you're right. We'll see what comes of them, but I'll continue to prepare," plays Heather, nodding quickly. She plays her tape recorder to herself and then smiles at Robyn, "That's excellent news. I'm glad that your application was successful. You will have to invite me any time your work is displayed."

Cap left behind in his room, Kieran's got a book in one hand that he's apparently planning to read, his headphones over his ears as he listens to whatever is playing on his iPod currently, since the wire goes into the pocket of his pants. For once the blonde teen isn't humming along to the must, he just seems vaguely unaware.

"Defiantly I will. You'll have to come into the city to come into lunch sometimes." Robyn says. "It should be interesting cause all the classes are art based, no more science or history..well I'll have history by art history." He says with a bit of excitement in his voice. "Good, continue to prepare and I'll be on my definitely look out for them." He looks up as Kieran walks in and offers a nod. "Hey Kieran."

"I would be very glad to rid myself of history… I don't need much except for a whole bunch of history classes. But I am not sure if I will be able to attend college. I doubt they will let me record all the classes and not attend like I do here," plays Heather, raising her brow for a moment, "Perhaps I will apply for mathematics. It's my strongest subject." She pauses and reviews her tape before looking towards Kieran and offering a wave.

Returning the wave to Heather and even waving towards Robyn, Kieran pulls off his headset,"Hey Robyn, Hey Heather, everything going ok?" He asks curiously, glancing at Robyn and then at Heather. "I miss something?" He asks walking towards them.

Robyn nods along with Heather. "Math I'm not that great at, but I at least can get passing grades. Art has always been my strong point so I figure going to school for it will be really neat." He says smiling before looking at Kieran. "I was just telling Heather about how I got into college and I'll be going to Parson's next year for college."

Heather nods at Robyn quickly and plays, "I do not think I could get into an art school, either. I'm not sure that I would want to." She glances towards Kieran and adds, "Also, my parents may be coming into town, and I do not get along with them."

"That's awesome! I know you were worried about getting into one." Kieran says flashing Robyn a grin. "I know I can't get into an art school. Worst subject I ever took. I was glad when I didn't have to actually do art class any more." He says laughing a bit,"I'm more of a math and science guy, well and music too I guess." He says with that same grin as he stands there with book in hand,"I take it not one big happy family? Maybe they'll not bother you? Done't some parents come to town and then not actually visit?"

Robyn reaches over and squeezes Heather's hand giving her a reassuring smile again. "It wasn't just worried about getting in but I was also worried that my parents wouldn't be able to afford it but I got a few scholarships so that's good." He gets silent for a bit at Kieran's last question before saying something. "Well…Heather's parents are a very unique situation."

Heather nods her head quickly and notes, "I fundamentally disagree with their philosophy. They are rather eccentric, too…" She draws her hand through her hair slowly, "They're also murderous psychopaths bent on world domination." She smiles slightly, "They are fine people to draw genetics from." She starts folding up her books and piles them up.

"Awesome. Good luck with Art School. So you'll be moving to the city then for school?" Kieran asks Robyn before glancing towards Heather,"Is that all? And here I thought it was something truly frightening. I thought maybe they were like Ned Flanders from the Simpsons." He says managing to keep an utterly straight face when he says this.

Robyn frowns at Kieran and shakes his head. "Heather's parents, from what I've heard, it's not good if they're coming up here. It's not a simple case of 'I hate my parents cause they wouldn't let me have ice cream so there for they're evil', her parents really are evil."

Heather finishes stacking up her books and then plays on her tape recorder, "I am not exaggerating. They are powerhungry, evil and intelligent. I am worried, but we will see what happens." She stands and finishes the message, "I'm going to go to my room to prepare further."

"Sorry…. Habit. I was taking you seriously, but trying to lighten the mood a bit." Kieran says sighing a little bit,"The thing is that when you're dealing with the uncertain, and there's nothing much you can do, worrying is often the worst thing. You can prepare but just worrying about what might happen could do more harm than good, right? I mean if they're thinking of coming here, I'm sure that there are people watching this area in case they do show up to try and recapture them."

Robyn stands up with Heather and nods. "If you need anything find me, or Connor and I know Chole's there for you too." He says before looking at Kieran and nodding. "Who knows Kieran. I mean with here, you never know what's going to happen. You can hope for the best, which I'm doing, but I've seen the worst happen too many times as well. Sometimes you can't help but worry." He says with a sad sort of smile. "Well I gotta head upstairs and check to see if my latest piece is done baking or not. Take care Kieran."

Heather nods quickly and then says, "Have a good night, and yes, I will certainly use everyone who is available to me." She nods once again and then zips off out the door.

"I'll see you around then." Kieran says seriously, and shrugging a little bit,"Worrying isn't useful. There's always things you can do to distract yourself, even planning for what happens if they are coming. But that's beside the point. I'll catch you later, going to do some reading for now." He says flipping the book in his hand.
