Xavier Mansion - Kitchen

This kitchen was designed to feed large numbers of people, and looks it with its bright white walls and stainless steel appliances. The stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher are all larger than normal. There is an island with stools around it for people to sit and eat around along with a table for twelve by the windows in back. Along the wall is a hole in the wall looking into the dining room so food can be passed back and fourth. Anything you want to cook or eat in the kitchen you will find the food and supplies to do so.

Robin roots through the refrigerator, trying to find something that she wants to eat. The problem is, there's nothing but ingredients in here, and she doesn't feel very motivated to cook for one! Blank leans up against the counter and waits expectantly, as if she's the one who is going to get the food.

July didn't do all the surprise from last time, but she /does/ know how to be silent when she wants. So, unless Blank can warn Robin, July approaches silently from behind and pokes Robin's shoulder, "Whatcha looking for?" she asks, giggling.

Blank is able to see and act, but she doesn't bother to alert Robin. However, Robin doesn't really jump, as if she had the intuitive sense that someone was there. She does however, spin around on her heel to see who it is. "Oh, hi. Um, just anything to eat, really."

July smiles, "Hey." she giggles, and then she reaches to pick up a sandwich she left in there, wrapped in plastic film. "Ah, now it's good!" she grins, before moving to sit at the table. "Going to prepare something?"

Robin looks at the fridge for a few moments and says, "I don't know if I really want to make the effort. I don't know what I feel like right now!" She tilts her head slightly and closes the fridge door. "Maybe I'll eat something later."

July hmmms softly and nods, "Want some of my sandwich? It's ham and cheese with some tuna." she grins softly, while unwrapping the plastic film from around it.

Robin smiles and says, "Oh, sure!" It's not like it will be much of a loss anyways, given how little Robin tends to eat. Blank looks pretty excited at the idea of this ham, cheese and tuna sandwich. "How did you decide to combine those? I never had something like that."

July giggles, "I mix what I like. Some work well, some don't." she says, before extending an arm to get a knife from the drawers, and use it to cut the sandwich in half.

Robin smiles and says, "All I need is a quarter, if that's okay. It's just a snack." She sits down opposite of July and tilts her head, "That stretching seems so super useful."

July giggles softly, "It is! It actually is. Pity I can't use it in public." she says, shaking her head lightly as she reaches to wash the knife after use. Of course, still seated.

Robin shrugs and says, "Well, you could look super obvious! Blank is always around, so I'm kind've an obvious mutant. Though not really, I dunno."

July smiles and nods, "Yeah, I know, but… I'd like to keep my mutation a secret. I don't think my father's business would survive if the owner's daughter is found out to be a mutant."

Robin nods her head slowly and says, "It didn't reflect very well on my parents that they were raising a mutant, but they accepted me enough. For that, anyways…" She shrugs and says, "I can imagine it being hard for a business owner to be a mutant's parent."

July nods softly, "Yeah. And my father also runs many charities. If that came out in the open, he'd lose credibility for his charities. And that's bad."

Robin nods and says, "Then I suppose it's best to keep it quiet. That's just too bad… I guess I would hide being a mutant all the time if I could. Especially if the well-beings of others was in the balance…" She looks down at her hands and takes a bite out of the sandwich.

July nods, smiling, as she takes a bit off her own half of a sandwich, "Yeah. Me too. But, some things are way outside our grasp. Even to a stretchy gal like me." she giggles softly.

Robin smiles at July and then nods, "There's a lot've stuff I wish that I could do, but I guess real life isn't really all that helpful sometimes." She tilts her head back and forth a few times and says, "Life is complicated!"

July giggles softly, "Nah. Life's simple. People make it complicated." she says, sagely nodding to what she just said, before giggling again, and then finishing her sandwich. "Ah, delicious."

Robin smiles slightly and nods, taking a bite of her sandwich, finishing her piece as well. "That was really good, actually! I would've never thought to have done that."

July giggles, "I'm a cooking genius!" she says, smiling, before crumbling up the plastic wrapping and stretching an arm to dump it in the garbage bin. Then, said hand moves to fill up a glass with water, "Want me to fetch something for you to drink, Robin?"

Robin blinks her eyes a few times, and she and Blank seem to watch the motion of July's hand, "Um, as long as you're, uh, over there, I guess."

July giggles, her hands at the fridge, "Sure, what would you like?" She asks while serving herself a glass of water.

Robin tilts her head and says, "Just some water would be fine, I think." She continues watching the hand kind of curiously.

July nods, smiling. She watches it too. It'd be shameful if she ended up doing stuff wrong, y'know. But two glasses are filled, and she places the water jar back in the fridge before bringing two glasses of water to the table. "Here you go." she says, smiling.

Robin takes a sip and says, "That's got to require lots've coordination. Thank you for the water!" She takes a sip and puts her cup back down on the table. She tilts her head at July for a few moments and says, "So… how've things been going with you and Ebony?"

July sips her water again, and then she frowns lightly at the question, before shrugging lightly, "We haven't seen much of each other lately. I'm mostly out looking for college applications, and she has her school schedule. I think it's just schedule mismatch."

Robin looks down at her glass of water and smiles slightly, "Well, at least your romantic life still isn't dryer than mine." She takes another sip and Blank sits down on the floor in thought. "But I hope that you synch up a little more. You make a nice couple."

July giggles softly, "Dry?" She asks, smiling softly, "You'll find someone, don't worry. Though you have to admit that your choices in life have made it quite a bit harder to find a partner, right?"

Robin nods her head and frowns for a couple of moments, "Well, yes, but I mean… in a choice to love myself enough to think I'm worth loving or just be loved by someone, it seems pretty cut and dry. It makes it tougher, but even if I die alone, it'll be worth it, I think." She shrugs and looks down at her hands. "Maybe someone'll love me. I dunno."

July smiles, "Maybe someone already does." she shrugs lightly, still smiling, before sipping her water softly, "In any case, you have lots of friends who accept you for what you really are."

Robin tilts her head slightly at July and says, "Do you think someone might? Seems kind've like a longshot to me!" She smiles and drinks her water, noting after tapping her painted lens once, "I am glad about how nice everyone's been to me, here. I never thought it was even possible."

July smiles, "Oh? You didn't?" she giggles softly, "Just like you're doing now, about someone able to love you?" She asks, and winks to you gently.

Robin smiles slightly and says, "That's kind've different, though, love takes a lot more than friendship." She eyes July suspiciously for a few moments and then say, "Do you know if someone already does? Oh my gosh. If you do, you have to tell me."

July grins widely as she's accused of knowing someone. But then she says, "No, I don't." and she giggles, "Really, I don't. I'm just saying, that things aren't always as bad as you paint them."

Robin smiles and says, "I didn't really think you did…" Blank looks generally disappointed, though, indicating that Robin really was hoping otherwise. She smiles and says, "I know things aren't as bad as I think and I have a very grey picture of the world… but I do have hopes and dreams. I'm just a worrier, too, I guess. When I first came out to my parents, I thought they'd still love me and accept me for who I am. And now I worry that I might be wrong whenever I think something positive."

July smiles, "They say if you always expect the worst, you'll never be disappointed." She says, standing up from her seat, "But… if you always expect the worst, doesn't that mean you're resigning? That its' the same as giving up?" She says, smiling still, and then she winks, "Expecting the best has its disadvantages, yes. But that also mean that you're doing your best to have the outcome come in your favor." She nods softly, "Think about it, Robin. It's called 'hope'." She winks, and then she tips a non-existent hat, "I gotta get some sleep now. Night."
