History

Things shifted out of ‘normal’ Julion the moment he saw the time-displaced Stryfe kill his arms merchant father. Shortly afterwards, the anti-mutant group known as The Right kidnapped Julio. He was hooked up to a machine that amplified his already unstable powers and used to cause havoc in San Francisco. Thankfully, he was rescued by X-factor. Allowed to stay in their HQ, Julio formed close friendships with the other young mutants staying there such as Boom-Boom, Rusty, Leech, and Skids.

Some time later, he joined the New Mutants and took part in the battles under New York City in the Moorlock tunnels. There he was severely wounded by Sabretooth (then one of Apocolpyse’s horsemen) but was rescued by his teammates. Some time after recovering, Rictor and several of his friends and teammates were captured and enslaved on Genosha. Rictor and Boom Boom managed to escape but were quickly recaptured. He was one of the mutants stripped of his powers and put on trial for the supposed crimes of the X-men. They were rescued once more by the X-men, X-Factor, and New Mutants. Julio was essential in bringing down the corrupt government of Genosha. He went one on one with Cameron Hodge after overcoming his fear of the man and brought the citadel down. The island nation was saved but Rictor left the New Mutants afterwards. He tried to convince his close friend Wolfsbane to return with him but she stayed.

Becoming convinced that Cable was the one that killed his father, as Stryfe is a clone of Cable, Rictor joined up with Weapon PRIME. The group’s sole purpose was hunting down and capturing Cable. They came close to achieving this goal before the X-men and X-Factor stopped them.

When Cable took what remained of the New Mutants and formed X-Force, Rictor was among those that joined. His time with the team was shortlived. Becoming convinced that Cable was the one that killed his father, as Stryfe is a clone of Cable, Rictor joined up with Weapon PRIME. The group’s sole purpose was hunting down and capturing Cable. They came close to achieving this goal before the X-men and X-Factor stopped them. Julio was convinced to rejoin X-Force and did so just in time to come into conflict with the X-men. Thanks to the manipulations of Stryfe, the two teams were pitted against one another. Rictor was among the team members held captive below the mansion but was eventually released. The team then took up residence in the mansion, making it their HQ for some time.

During his time on the team, Rictor developed a very close relationship with his teammate Shatterstar. They were close enough that when Rictor left the team due to differences with Cable, Rictor came back the second he found that Shatterstar needed help. And when Rictor left the team again, Shatterstar went with him. Together, they went to Mexico and dismanteled the Richter Family arms dealing business and crippled the arms trading market in the area. After the battle, Shatterstar and Rictor were separated for unknown reasons.

Wandering, Julio eventually ended up in Paris. Contacted by Professor Xavier, Julio joined the new branch of X-Corporation. Here he was reunited with Cannonball and other old friends. Their first mission put them up against Weapon PRIME but things went horribly. Darkstar was killed and Julio would have been too if not for his natural defenses. When the Weapon was defeated, the team disbanded. Rictor went back to America and started wandering again. Growing depressed and lonely, he’s decided to come back to New York and seek out the X-men and his old friends.
