Xavier Mansion - Kitchen
This kitchen was designed to feed large numbers of people, and looks it with its bright white walls and stainless steel appliances. The stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher are all larger than normal. There is an island with stools around it for people to sit and eat around along with a table for twelve by the windows in back. Along the wall is a hole in the wall looking into the dining room so food can be passed back and fourth. Anything you want to cook or eat in the kitchen you will find the food and supplies to do so.
Anyone entering the kitchen will find the usually clean and sterile kitchen a slight mess, David Alleyne staff member and ‘up-and-coming’ chef has been whirring about the kitchen all morning trying to make various concoctions. There is some spilt flower, some sauces, and different ingredients strewn all over the kitchen. Pans and pots stacked on the stove and island. However, the table is very neat and the odor of some freshly cooked meals wafts through the air. A batch of various cookies (combination of chocolate chips and oatmeal raisins) a large bowl with spaghetti with a combination of meatballs and chunks of sausages, and a container of scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes, spinach, and various other vegetables. David, himself, stands by the table looking over his various culinary creations. He is dressed in green cargo shorts and a purple tanktop with a white apron over it. His face is stained with different food items, but he stands by the oven waiting for the next batch of food.
Having brought all his stuff to his parents house earlier, Robyn realized that all his sculptures that were in the art room were still there. He walks into the kitchen carrying a wooden box filled with various art projects. "Hey David…um…I need paper towels." He says as he puts the box on the table and starts to pull out his art projects, some finished some not. They all are quite strange and have a weird macabe feel. Such as a woman crossed with a spider, a teddy bear in an electric chair, a skeleton that looks like he's putting himself together and other such things. "What's the cooking occasion David, Mr. Parker on vacation?"
Seemingly lost in thought as he stares at the oven and finally the timer goes off, David reaches for a pair of oven mitts and then opens the oven pulling out some sort of weird-looking quiches. Sniffing them and making a ‘face,’ he shakes his head, “Darn it” He then looks to Robyn, “Oh hey, wow. Sorry, I was a kinda lost in thought.” Eyeing the artwork that Robyn places on the table, “Wow. Those are…” David stares in particular at the teddy bear in the electric chair. “ … creative.” After a moment of contemplation, “I like them.” He smiles and looks over his quiches, “Unlike these things.” He shakes his head and pours the whole tray into the trash. “Um I was hoping to brush up on some cooking skills without having to mimic Mr. Parker. Clearly cooking is something that I don’t think I can do without copying someone else.” He shrugs, “But if you want to be a tastetester?” He points to the food on the table, “Those came out pretty good.”
"Not everyone is a good cook." Robyn says grabbing the paper towels as he starts to meticulously wrap his art pieces. "Umm…I guess. But how do you know if they came out bad if you didn't taste them? I don't cook so I don't really know. I'm not that good at it. And thanks, about the art. I start Freshmen Orientation next week, I'm just happy I'm back in time for it."
Moving to the table and taking a chocolate chip cookie, David bites into one. Shifting his eyes to the left and to the right as he chomps on down, David nods, “Not bad. Not as good as Mr. Parker’s, but not too bad either.” He offers a smile as he starts to untie the apron from the back. “Wow, we just get you back and you are off now, huh? Freshman orientation? Where are you going?”
Robyn reaches over to grab an oatmeal raisin cookie and then nods. "Yeah, I'm goign to Parsons, it's an art school in Manhattan. I got in on a partial scholarship and the rest will be student loans. I'm looking forward to it cause I've always wanted to go to school for sculpting since I was a kid." He says finishing up the cookie. "Not bad David, they're pretty good. Just need some milk."
“Thanks, and as for the milk, ask and ye shall receive.” David heads towards the fridge after tossing the apron on the mess of pots and pans. He pulls out a container of milk and goes to get some cups.
“Wow, Parsons that is a great art school. My dad knew someone who used to work there. I believe he was the Assistant Director of Residence Life there. He dealt with all the dorm stuff.” Pouring a glass of milk for Robyn and one for himself, “I guess you must be pretty excited.” Passing one of the glasses to Robyn, “Hopefully you will have a great time there and no attacks on your campus or kidnappings to other dimensions.” David laughs a bit as he grabs a cookie and dips it into his glass.
"It was my top choice of schools. I got into a few other art schools like Rhode Island School of Design and New York Academy of Art. So now that I'm moving out Connor, Rashmi and I are going to get an apartment together in a city." Robyn says taking the glass of milk. "Thanks…but right now I'd rather focus on art school than getting kidnapped…again. Or that other stuff."
Nodding his head, “Of course.” Dipping the cookie again and taking a large bite, David looks between the spaghetti and the scrambled eggs, “How about some lunch before you leave? Not every student can say that I’ve cooked for them.” David offers a goofy smile as he goes to get two dishes, “So living with Connor and Rashmi in the cities. I can only imagine the fun you guys will have. Any idea what Connor’s plans are?” Rinsing the dishes under the faucet quickly he leans against the sink drying them as he chats with Robyn.
"I don't know about fun, Rashmi is busy with Barnes and Law School and I'm going to be busy with art school and I'm not sure what Connor will be doing. I think he's going to work for now." Robyn says as he looks at the pasta and then the egg mixture. "I'll just try some of the pasta. That egg stuff looks like it has too much green in it."
Moving to the tables and putting some of the spaghetti onto the plate, “Um not sure if you want meatballs or sausage or both?” David then continues with the conversation at hand, “Well, that’s great. I think you all will enjoy it. To be young and living and going to college in New York City.” David smiles shaking his head, “That will be quite the experience.”
Robyn gives David a weird look. "Stop talking like you're some fifty year old man. You're just as young as the rest of us. How old are you again? Like twenty? And both but not to much, I have dinner with my parents tonight." He says as he continues to wrap up his sculptures.
“Hey. I’m just envious. Never lived in New York City is all.” Putting a modest portion of meatballs and sausage mixed in with some spaghetti sauce. He puts the plate at the opposite end of the table for Robyn to sit down and enjoy. “And I’m 20. I graduated a bit younger than most in my graduating class.” Putting some scrambled eggs for himself onto a plate, “So what will you miss most about here?”
