Xavier Mansion - Recreation Room

What was once the Parlor has been turned into a Recreation Room for the students. A nice plush carpet meets the light blue walls giving it a homey feel. A pool table at one end, a foos ball table at the other, and entertainment center with video game systems, movies, and of course, cable TV. Big comfy chairs and couches surround a coffee table for comfortable loafing. Long glass windows with a pair of French doors line one side of the room bringing in plenty of light during the day. The main rule in here is to clean up after yourself.

On Sunday Nights Robyn sometimes likes to settle down with a movie and relax before the next week of classes starts up. The lights are dimmed in the rec room and the surround sound has been turned on. The movie of choice tonight - Clash of the Titans! The original not the remake. He has a bowl full of popcorn in his lap and sits on the couch cross legged as he watches the opening of the film.

As his partner in crime, Connor joins his friend on the couch to watch the film… well, watch as much as he ever watches films he's seen as many times as this one. So… on a table tray in front of him is his laptop, and in his hands is a small PSP game system, but his eyes flick up to the opening, and then back down. Suddenly he's turning the system slightly, and tapping the key a few times, "No no no no no… dammit…" And with a huff he goes back to reading something on the PC screen.

Robin walks through the door from the hallway, scratching at her arms under the sleeves of the pastel pink hoodie that she's currently wearing. Both her and Blank seem to be presently in synch, and both seem a little bit tired based on their postures. She pauses behind the couch and looks towards the television screen, adjusting her glasses slightly as she does.

Robyn has seen this film dozens of times himself but he have a tendency to rewatch films many times over. "I kind of want to sculpt Cerberus now. Or a Medusa. I never really did much with Greek Mythology but I should since there are so many cool monsters and heroes and such." He says as he picks up a handful of popcorn and munches on it. He looks up at Robin as she walks through and smiles. "Hey Robin, wanna watch Clash of the Titans with us?"

Lucas wanders into the room, carrying a bag of chips and a glass of sweet tea. He looks around, and then just wanders over and sits in the floor, his shoulder against Robyn's leg as his back leans against the couch. "Harryhausen's a genius," he says flatly, before shoving a huge handful of chips into his mouth, crunching filling the room.

"I've never seen it," notes Robin, still scratching idly before pulling her hand out of her sleeve. She crosses her arms tightly around herself and looks towards the screen, "But I wouldn't mind taking my mind off've things…" She bites her bottom lip and leans over the couch.

Connor says almost without looking back up, "Harryhausen is good, but these days you don't need the kind of work that he and ILM did… it's all digital. Funny thing is, a lot of the movies who still try and use the old effects look much better." Then he smiles and nudges at Robyn's side as he adds, "Hey Lucas… pass the popcorn, while I try and catch this rare monster."

Robyn hands the bowl to Connor and nods. "I think the odd effects are much cooler. I mean digital..sure it may look shinier but think about the time someone put into making those monsters. I want to do that." He says as it's no secret that he wants to go into film sculpting creatures. "Heya Lucas, and you're not allowed to put on hockey tonight, it's Clash of the Titans Sunday." He says before looking to Robin. "Well it's just starting, you should watch it. It's really awesome and…are you okay Robin?" He asks as it clicks that she's taking her mind off things.

Lucas sighs, "No worries, Robear. Ah don't care what we watch so long's Ah can hide out in here." He shoves more chips in his mouth. *crunch crunch crunch*

"Oh, it seems like it'd be pretty awesome," says Robin, a bit absently as she stares blankly over the edge of the couch. She uprights a little bit as she's asked if she's okay, and then nods, "Oh, yeah, sure, I'm doing alright and stuff. Don't worry about it…" It's clear, by both her posture and facial expression, that she just told a terrible lie.

Connor finally seems to notice that Robin is there and looking a bit out of sorts. So the game system is turned off, the laptop is closed, and suddenly, there's the work of cleaning the couple of little bits of popcorn off his jeans… followed by several more moments of phantom pieces. Finally with everything squared away neatly in his bag, he moves off the couch and says, "Here… sit down… no really, you look strung out. Rough Danger Room session or something?"

Robyn moves over so Robin can sit between himself and Connor. "Hey, Robin, we're friends. We're name twins, if you want to talk about something, it's okay. If you don't well…feel free to relax and watch the movie with us." He says before looking over at Lucas. "Hide out? Are you hiding from someone?"

Lucas shrugs, "Maybe." He smirks, and then asks, "What's givin' you the what-all, other Robin?" He looks over at her, and lifts a brow, "Y'all havin' b-" He pauses, looks closer at her, furrows his brow, and then says, "significant other trouble?" Grin.

Robin frowns and sits down where indicated by Connor. She pauses for a moment before she starts rambling, "I mean, I know I can talk to you, I just don't want to interrupt your Clash of the Titans Sunday with my stupid drama. It's not a rough Danger Room session, though, I encountered this New Mutant Order thing, and they dosed me with some stuff and… it felt amazing, but I wasn't myself, and I hate the way I was acting. But… but I just want to sneak out and get more, I can't think of anything else." She fidgets and crosses her arms, "I've been dealing with it the only way I know how, to distract myself, but I felt so… alive."

Connor kneels down close by Robin, and reaches up to touch her hand for a moment, "Allright… this is something I know about. You're in a place where you feel like you have to do something… anything… to either make the feeling go away, or make it better." His eyes meeting her own before he continues on, "First thing's first is… remembering that no matter what, you're not this feeling. It's something else. Once you've accepted this, then you can also realize, that you can control it. Seems impossible, but it's the first step. Trust me."

Robyn looks at Robin and puts his arm around her shoulders and squeezes lightly. "Robin, you're a friend. You're 'stupid drama', if it's important to you, is more important then a movie I've seen many times." He says as he listens to her. "Oh man, I'm sorry." He really doesn't know what to say.

Lucas furrows his brow at Robin, "What drug was it?" He tilts his head a little, "What did it do? What did you feel like? Maybe sayin' it would help?"

Robin shakes her head and says, "I think it's called Kick. It made me feel like… everything was perfect, and I was so powerful and unstoppable, like I wasn't meaningless… But it did make me more powerful, that's the thing. I could move independently of Blank, and she was so strong, I felt so connected…" She shakes her head again and looks at Connor, "It's hard to remember that. Because it's almost all of my thoughts."

With a bit of a grin, Connor nods and replies, "Which is why it's a fight… and why it takes a lot out of you to do it. Just ask Robyn… he has to put up with all sorts of stupid stuff from me. Like I can't leave a can of pop empty, and I always crush them the same way, or that my side of the room is always immaculate. These are things I have to do because otherwise I start having problems dealing with… everything. Sooo…" Looking back at Robyn, he nods once, "For an hour a day, I sit on Robyn's side of the room… and if I start cleaning, I have to buy him a dozen cookies from his favorite place. If I last the hour, he doesn't get to stay in the art room past midnight."

Robyn looks at a Robin and his face is full of concern. "Robin…you're not meaningless. You're awesome, you're an artist. I mean I've seen your paintings, you're really good. And what you did for your sister when I was a frog and you were Cinderella, it was amazing. Don't sell yourself short Robin. I'm sorry you feel like you need this drug to feel good about yourself."

Lucas smirks, "Ah'm confused. Who's Blank?" He looks at Robyn, "Robin paints?" He looks back at Robin, "Huh."

"Blank is my, um, my puppet," says Robin, gesturing back to the puppet that still stands behind the couch, seeming not to register what's happening anymore. She rubs her arms and shakes her head, "I don't want to feel this way about a drug. I feel like all I want to do is sneak out and find more… I know that I'm worth more than that, but…"

Connor just says, "That you're saying that is enough to know that you're on the right track, okay?" Standing back up, he makes his way over to where the popcorn is, and picks it up, taking a couple bites before plopping it back into Robyn's lap, before adding, "If we put the movie back on… maybe we can forget some of this."

"But sometimes you can't help but feel down about yourself even though you know there really isn't a good reason why?" Robyn says trying to fill in the blank for Robin. He keeps his arm around her in what he hopes is a comforting gesture. "Maybe you should talk to Dr. Parker-Mayfair he's really good at listening without judging."

Lucas nods, "Talking always helps. Or go beat the fuck out of something in the Danger Room. That's always right good for me. Oh! Somethin' else what helps me is to go make out with someone." He smirks, "Well, if'n ya'll got someone to." He shrugs. "Just sayin'."

Robin nods at Robyn and says, "Yeah, I should talk to him, or someone, I mean I've talked to Dr. Parker-Mayfair before about… other things. I feel better about myself than I used to, but this drug made me feel like… that's the first time I felt /really good/." She looks at Lucas with a bit of a bewildered expression and says, "Um, I'll keep that in mind. I just don't have anyone anymore… to make out with."

Connor srarts chuckling a bit, "Then we're in the same boat… just swap anyone with ever…" Winking at Robin before he goes to sit where Robyn's legs are on the couch, the popcorn floating up and over his head to land in his lap once more, "Contrary to all the popular rumors running around, Heather and I aren't dating… we're just friends who decided to go to the dance together."

Robyn lets out an 'oof' noise when Connor goes to sit on his lap. "Help! I'm being squashed!" He jokes before wrapping his arms around Connor's waist. "We all have different things to help us out, but for me it's always my art which helps me. Just, remember that you have friends here Robin and if you need help with anything, we're here for you to help you in any way we can."

Lucas smiles at Connor and Robyn playing. He laughs, and addresses Connor, "You and Heather? Nice." He looks back at Robin then, "Yeah, sorry. If'n it makes ya feel better, Ah ain't got noone neither." He glances at Robyn, "Ah'm here hidin' from my last."

Robin says, "You and her aren't? Huh." She puts a hand over her mouth to imitate the digitalization of the tape recorder, in an imitation of Heather, "I'll update my journals." She looks towards Robyn and smiles, nodding once. "Yeah, you're right. I do have friends I should go to, it's just tough to ask for help…" She looks towards Lucas and says, "Is your last… looking for you?"

Connor slips out of Robyn's lap after a moment, and slides to the floor with the popcorn, "I thought you were kinda hot for the history teacher, Lucas? You know… Miss Von Reigenlief?"

"She's not really a history teacher." Robyn says not really meaning to ruin the joke. "Well Ancient History so I guess she is, never mind." He says with a chuckle. "Update your journals? Do you keep track of all Xavier's gossip?"

Lucas shrugs at Connor, "VonR's smokin' hot an' all, but let's be honest. She's just spank material." He laughs, "No, Robin. Rash isn't lookin' for me. Ah just… Ah'm hidin' from her because Ah don't really wanna deal with how Ah feel." He looks at Connor again, "Did you see that? How Ah just totally talked about my feelin's an' shit?" He smiles, "Ah think Ah'm right growin' as a person and what-all." He laughs, and then looks back at Robin. "Okay, so seriously? You an' Ah ain't friends. We don't really know each other. So! Ask ME for help." He shrugs, "It'll give me somethin' to do."

"No, I was just imitating something she would say…" says Robin in reply to Robyn, scratching her neck and glancing aside. She looks perplexed at Lucas saying that Hilde is 'spank material', and adjusts her glasses slightly. "Umm, good job slinging out those feelings. You're a real feeling bandit now. And, uhh, I'm not sure I'd want to talk to you about stuff like that 'cause you're right. We aren't really friends."

Connor looks back and forth a few times, "And on THAT awkward note… pardon me everyone… I promised to run some time on a new MMO with Dylan… c'mon Robyn. We'll cheat back." And with that he reaches over to grab his pack, and then up to take Robyn's hand for the teleport.

Robyn looks at Robin and gives her a friendly peck on the cheek. "You ever need to talk, I'm here for you. I won't stop being your friend no matter what you end up doing." He says before taking Connor's hand. "See you later Lucas and hang in their Robin cause, well, you're a great person." He says with a not before letting Connor teleport him off, leaving the bowl of popcorn behind.

Lucas watches them go, then looks at Robin. "Huh." His brow lifts a bit. "I must smell or somethin'." He grins. "Anyway, you just said you was havin' trouble askin' friends for help. Ah was just offerin' to give you help as a non-friend. Forget it. No biggie." He picks up the controller, and switches it to an NHL game.

"Well, uh, I just find it tough to ask for help in general, is what I meant to say," says Robin, watching both Connor and Robyn disappearing into thin air with a slight frown. It deepens when she sees the status of the television. "A hockey game?"

Lucas nods a bit, "Ah. Okay. Well, it ain't like my offer still won't stand." He shrugs, "Might even MAKE us friends. Which, couldn't hurt, what with how few Ah reckon it seems Ah actually got lately." He looks over at Robin. "Yeah." He smiles, "You like hockey?"

"It sounds like you've got stuff to talk about too," says Robin, raising her brows slightly as she sits down on the edge of the couch. "I don't really like hockey. I was really bad at it as a kid. Like, the worst."

Lucas smiles, "BUT, you DID play." He shrugs, "No one played back home. Ah was kind of a freak for likin' it." He lifts the controller up and offers it to her. "It ain't the Predators. If'n ya'll wanna watch somethin' else, Ah'll live." He smiles once more, "Ah'm in love with a girl what Ah screwed up and let leave me. Ah figured it out just in time to see her hookin' up with someone else. Ah love her enough to not interfere 'cause she's happy." He shrugs, "That's really only the tip of my scars, but Ah reckon it's what ails me tonight."

"Uh, I'm finding myself a drug addict. That's kind of what's on /my/ mind tonight," says Robin, crossing her arms, "Or I'm just an addict, I dunno. As for romance, I dunno, I'm still in love with the person who broke up with me, but whatever. I'll get over it…" She furrows her eyebrows and adjusts her glasses again, rubbing under the blacked out lens. "But it's tough. As for playing hockey, yeah, we had a rink in our town. We played for phys ed sometimes."

Lucas tosses the controller to Robin. "Watch what you want." He smiles, "You got dumped too, huh?" He offers kindly, "Sorry." With a little shrug, he leans back on the couch. "Like love, what you're feeling about the drug? It'll pass. It WILL pass." He gently touches her shoulder, "Fill your need with other things that make you feel alive, even if they ain't as good. It'll pass."

Robin looks down at the controller and nods, handing it back to her puppet who begins to slowly surf through the channels. "Getting dumped happens, I guess. I thought I was in one of those lucky relationships that'd never end. Apparently not. It's hard… but it'll pass. This drug thing, I dunno. I can't believe I'm addicted to something else, so easily…"

Lucas shrugs, "We ain't normal folks. Normal things like drugs don't affect us the same ways. Hell, who's to say they were normal drugs." He bumps her arm with his elbow, "Every relationship ends. The Buddhists say Life is Suffering." He smiles, "And it is." He looks at the puppet for a minute, then back at Robin. "Ah was dumped because Ah was keepin' everythin' bottled up and left her feelin' unnecessary an' out of the loop what was my life. You?"

Robin shakes her head, "Well, I dunno, I don't think they're normal drugs. They're drugs for mutants, to make us more powerful and stupid and cocky or something. I was dumped 'cause, I dunno really. Things just started to drift, and I wanted them to stay together but… kinda the opposite of you, really, I guess."

Lucas nods. "Well, Ah'm sorry it happened Ah reckon." He sighs, and sits for a moment, and then looks at Robin once more. He stares at her for a long moment, and then furrows his brow, before standing, "Ah should go to bed.

Robin nods at Lucas and says, "Well… have a good night then. Good luck with your feelings." She scratches her head and looks blankly towards the television as her puppet continues to flip through the channels.

Lucas nods, "Yeah. You too." He pauses, and then leans against the door frame. "Hey." He shrugs, "If'n you, Ah dunnow… You wanna maybe like, get outta here some time…" He furrows his brow a little, "…Ah wouldn't be opposed."

Robin looks over and blinks a few times, adjusting her glasses slightly, "Umm, thank you. I will keep that in mind. That might be nice to do sometime…" She nods at Lucas and gives a small wave before looking back at the screen.

Lucas lingers a moment longer after she looks back at the TV, and then slips out the door.
