Westchester - Salem Center Mall

On the far end of the Food Court lays the long, wide hallway of the Mall. Oversized skylights let the sunlight pour in during the day, while the florescent bulbs light the Mall at night. This hall has a number of kiosks, selling anything from cheap jewelry to car stickers to on-the-spot portraits, along with them come a number of benches and let's not forget the store fronts calling out to the consumers with their bright lights and attention-drawing displays.

Why do college classes require books that are so hard to find? After looking around several book stores in the city Robyn had one call up the book store in Salem center and lo and behold they have it! Making his way to the book store, Robyn weaves his way around the people. He's dressed in his typical skinny jeans and a grey t-shirt with a flock of ravens on it. Not much has seemed to change in his appearance over the last year, he still looks to be the same emo kid.

Lucas is standing at the magazine rack in the book store. He's wearing a pair of tight black skinny jeans and a ratty white Vneck Tshirt that's old enough to be a little yellowed. Over the shirt is a baggy zip up hoodie with navy and whit horizontal stripes. His hair is dirty and stringy, and he's reading a guitar magazine.

It's not long before Robyn recognizes Lucas and he walks over to the teen, looking at him with a grin. "So I see you haven't showered in a while. Is that the Kurt Kobain look you're going for?" He teases. "I haven't seen you for a while, I haven't been back to Xavier's since I moved out and kinda just got focused with college. So how have you been?"

Lucas looks up and makes a playful angry face at Robyn, "Ah see you still like boys." Good comeback, loser. He smiles, closing the magazine and giving Robyn's shoulder a little shove. "You suck." He shrugs, "Ah'm alright, Ah reckon. Ah ain't dead yet, so, whatever." He sits the magazine back on the shelf. "What brings you here? Ah didn't think y'all could read…"

"No, I don't like boys anymore, I like chickens." Robyn says with a laugh. "And yes I still like boys and if you're wondering I'm on the market now." He says with a wink, obviously joking around. "I'm here because I need a specific book for one of my art classes at Parsons. Too many text books and they're all expensive. You should come by the apartment sometime."

Lucas shrugs, "You never call, you never text, you never visit…" He laughs, obviously teasing. "You have an apartment, huh?" He sighs, "Nice." His tone suggests maybe he's a little jealous, however. "How's school going? You like like the classes?"

"You didn't hear? Connor, Rashmi and I all got a place in Mutant town together." Robyn says. "After the whole thing with Heather's parents, then with getting into art school, I just needed to move out of Xavier's." He says with a shrug. "Sorry, I should call sometime. I have a part time job to afford the apartment but that's not an excuse. School is going well though, I like the classes but I feel so…average in regards to my art there."

Lucas sighs, "Rashmi, huh?" He nods, pursing his lips a little and looking off into the mall for a moment. "Well…" He looks back at Rashmi, "Ah reckon y'all have a good time." He smiles a little, "Don't worry about it. Ah do fine. Glad school's good. Ah have a hard time believin' you're just average, Robear."

"Well artistically speaking I feel average. I kinda feel like the odd one out though even though noone knows I'm a mutant." Robyn says pushing his hair back out of his face. "Just because of all the shit we've gone through I have trouble connect with others who are just so…innocent. I guess I'm kind of jealous of that, being able to be so care free. Anyway…nevermind." Robyn says shaking his head and smiling. "So how's Xavier's for you? Still under Kenta?"

Lucas tilts his head, "You think I'm innocent?" He shakes his head, "You must have a short memory. Ain't nothin' to be jealous of here." He sighs again, pushing his hair back over his ears. "Xavier's is fine. Ah do, yeah. Kenta's good. He puts up with my shit." He shrugs. "It's alright. Lonely. Ah spend a lot of my nights in the city playin' guitar."

"I don't think you're innocent Lucas. I remember the shit you've been through too." Robyn says giving him a strange look. "I'm talking about the kids I go to school with now." He says before giving a chuckle. "Well if you're ever in the city feel free to give me a call or something. Maybe we can hang out for a bit. So you're not so lonely."

Lucas laughs, "Great. Pity party for poor lonely me." Yeah, he's still Lucas. He shakes his head, "Ah'll be alright." He shoves his hands in his pockets. "So um… How's Rash?"

"Fine then be lonely." Robyn says to him back and it's hard to tell if he's joking or being serious. "But I'll get you a big cake that says "Pitiful" on it." He says and that time it's obvious he's joking. "Rashmi, she's doing good. Busy with law school and Barnes still. I don't think she'll ever not be busy, you know?"

Lucas nods, "Yeah." He smiles at the cake comment. "She still with the guy with all the arms?" he asks.

"Travis?" Robyn says before nodding. "Yeah they're still together. He comes over once in a while but I'm usually working or at school so I don't really know him that well." He says before raising an eyebrow at Lucas. He visibbly bites his lower lip to prevent him from saying anything. "So, uh, you make friends with any of the newer kids there? At Xaviers?"

Lucas scowls just a little, "Ah know his name." He sighs, nods a little, then looks back at Robyn. "Nah. They're just kids. Not really. Ah ain't exactly Mr. Friendly, anyways. Prolly my own fault." With a little purse of his lips, he shrugs, "Ah miss the old days." Then he rolls his eyes, "Great. Now Ah sound old."

"Well you've always been good at pushing people away, that's for sure." Robyn says as he's definately grown a bit more of a spine over the last year or so. "Well we're getting older Lucas. And sometimes I miss the old days too but at the sametime it's good to move on. I mean I stayed with Jordan for so long because I was afraid to admit it was a bad relationship and that things were over with my first love but sometimes moving on is good. Not always easy but good."

Lucas nods, "Yeah. Ah reckon so…" He sighs. "Well…" He looks at his iPhone, then looks at Robyn, "Ah need to run. Ah have to get back to Xavier's for a four o'clock Music Theory class." He reaches out and gives Robyn's shoulder a friendly squeeze, his hand very unnaturally warm. "Take care of yourself, brosef."

Robyn puts his hand on Lucas's arm and smiles at him. "Really Lucas, come by sometime. It's not good for you to be alone there, you need friends. I know Rashmi and Connor wouldn't mind. We could get take out and just hang out, like old times." He says before nodding. "My number hasn't changed. Take care and good luck with class. Keep in touch."

Lucas nods, "Ah'll call then." He smiles, "See ya, Robear." He turns and starts to go, and then looks back, "Tell Connor Ah said hi." He smiles again, and heads off.
