Max is Back

Xavier Mansion Front Gates and Courtyard

There were some delays at the airport, but Max called when he was in the taxi. Eager to see Kael and the rest of the people for the final week of summer, Max was almost bouncing off the walls inside the cab with anticipation. Luckily the cab driver he had managed to snag was also a mutant, apparently so due to his orange skin. His Taxi Token read Tommy Sims, and he seemed unaffected by the extremely cold temperature Max was giving off inside his vehicle. "Alright, kiddo. Here we are, 1407 Greymalkin. You need some help with yer bags?" The kind cabbie asked the Chilly Nuissance. Max looked through the plexiglass to Tommy. "If you don't mind, I've got some people who'll help me take 'em in." The car soon stopped in front of the mansion. "Wow, kid, nice digs." Commented the cabbie.

With that call ahead from his boyfriend, the areokinetic was bouncing in his seat in front of one of the windows in the Lobby. There wasn't much that was going to keep the teen in his seat, much less still! Once the taxi pulled up all the way down that driveway, the wind controller bounced off of his seat and started to head outside. The door was knocked back a good bit by a gust of enthusiastic wind as Kael started to run towards the gates. A wee bit too excited.

Having been one of a few to get the call about Max coming home, Owen Folger was waiting in the lobby. On the stairs and reading a book, he glances up at the little security monitor in the room that gives a view of the gates occasionlly. Once he sees a taxi coming up, the teen from down south folds the monitor back into its hidden alcove in the wall. His plan to tell Kael that the guest of honor has arrived are put to quick stop by the younger mutant rushing out so quickly. Laughing, Owen dusts himself off and follows as a more relaxed pace.

The taxi soon comes to a stop as the orange cabbie and the sub-arctic Max hop out. As soon as Max's blue eyes see Kael, the Cryokinetic is rushing out to give him a hug. "Kael!" He exclaims before he has a firm grasp around his boyfriend. "How've you been?!" He asks, looking up and seeing Owen coming down. "Owen!" Exclaiming again, Max will give an equally great hug to his good friend.

Kael hugs tight, his emotions causing a swirl of wind around him before he says, "I've been bored actually! I've missed so much." He gives Max a small kiss on the forehead; if he can manage, before he releases him to go hug Owen

Owen chuckles and gives Max a nice quick hug, even picking him up off the ground a moment. "Howdy, Lil' Snow Cone," he greets, smiling as he sets Max down. "Howdy, sir. Thank ya for gettin' this little guy back home tah us," he adds to the Cabbie.

Max returns the kiss on the forhead before running off at breakneck speed to Owen. "Hey big guy!" He exclaims as he is brought up off the ground for the moment. After he's let go, Max returns to Kael. "I wasn't bored, but not entertained back home. But the folks want to see me, ya know?" He says, as the cabbie gets out the last of Max's luggage for the year, he offers Owen a hand in greeting. "No problem. Pretty lucky he got me though, he can sure make a good air conditioner." He comments, giving a wink to Owen. He doesn't know about the school or anything, but he does know about Max and being a mutant.

Kael grins wide as he wraps his arms around Max once more, just smiling contently now that he has his cryo mutant back in his arms. "Shame ya missed my birthday though." He chuckles a bit, looking over to Owen for a second before he looks over towards the cabbie. "He does that frequently. Rather nice in the hot summer days!"

Owen shakes the offered hand, chuckling once more. "Yeah, little guy's
one heck of a life-saver in the kitchen if the power goes out too," he adds. "Don' worry, we all made sure he celebrated," the DarkForce user adds after Max is told of the birthday.

"Hey! Is that all I'm for, to cool you down when it gets hot?" Max asks, taking a couple of his bags filled with clothes and toiletries of a verious and sundry nature. "Okay, so that's just one of the many perks of being me. But don't freak when I eat all the ice cream." Max says to the two. "Kael, you missed my B-day too man." He offers, taking out a little guarded treasure in his pocket. "There it is: Maximillian Maximus Farlane." He says, showing it to his boyfriend, the coveted learner's permit. Yes, that is his legal name. The cabbie looks out. "Okay, that's the last of it, you guys take it easy." He offers, having already recieved payment from Max for the long trip out. "Thanks Tommy!" Max yells out before giving a goodbye wave.

Kael waves at the cabbie as he heads out. "Thanks for bringing him back!" Then he looks back down at the permit and he grins. "Niiice. So that's your full name, eh?" He reaches behind him and pulls out his own wallet, pulling out his own Learner's Permit. "Got it a week or so ago." The name on his reads: Kael Adrian Langford. He looks back over at Owen with a laug, "The day after, I was /still/ wired from all that candy and cake."

Owen nods. "Ya'll have a safe trip back out, sir. And thanks again," he offers to Tommy. The normally fuzzy mutant waits, watching the cab go before turning to the younger mutants. "Oh what's that now?" he asks, ruffling Max's hair as he peers at the learner's permit. "Uh oh, Lil' Snow Cone's gonna be on wheels," he laughs a bit, "An' sorry we missed your birthday too," he adds, already plotting. "Here, let me get this stuff for ya," he offers, reaching for Max's luggage. "Glad ya'll enjoyed it, Lil' Breeze."

"Yes, Max Max Farlane. My dad was weird." Max looks to his friend. "Thanks, Owen!" He adds to the big DarkWatch user. "Glad you guys celebrated. Me and my folks just went out to dinner, and I got some new clothes." The cyrokinetic offers up. As he starts to make the trek inside to get re-situated with his room and stuff. The cryokinetic is really glad to be back.

Kael smirks. "It's cute." He looks over at Owen before he helps Max with any luggage that he can. "Don't worry, Max~ We'll make sure you get a proper party for your birthday." A bright smile from the aerokinetic, he's got something planned. Though might not be the same as what Owen has planned. Or is it.

Owen gathers the luggage around himself and chuckles. "Ya know ya don' gotta than' me for this," he chuckles before he and the luggage vanish in a cloud of DarkForce. Depositing the bags in Max's dorm room (and possibly startling a roommate…who knows), the fuzzy mutant's gone a few extra moments. When he returns behind the younger boys, he's all fuzzy and has something in hand. "Picked this up for ya while Ah was in the city, Lil' Snow Cone. Came with somethin' else Ah got ya but Ah figured that could wait in your room for ya," he says, offering a small box to Max. It seems to contain a display of metal rings from the Green Lantern books…green, blue, red, and the rest.

"I'm not cute!" THe cryokinetic exclaims, though he's only in denial on it. Max looks to Owen as he leaves for a littlw bit. "I don't have to have a party, but I'd have loads of fun if there was one." And then the return of Owen brings about a present. "Wait, no you did not!" Max exclaims aloud. "This is great! Thank you so much Owen!" He offers, giving the large fuzzy guy a grand hug, the thankfulness quite apparent in Max.

Kael blinks as Owen leaves, and he chuckles a bit. "Ah, but you are~ I have proof." He grinds wide, and then Owen comes back with the Green Lantern stuff. The aerokinetic slides his hands into his pockets, his right one fidgeting a bit as he says, "Oh wow. Where'd you find all those?"

Owen chuckles as he returns the hug, squeezing Max before letting go. "Ya're welcome, Lil' Snow Cone. Jus' glad Ah was right about those," he says. "There was a comic convention awhile back. Ah wondered in and found those while tryin' tah escape," he admits, embarassed at getting lost in a convention.

"Heck yes you were!" Max comments before closing the black case, the Hal Jordan ring on his right hand as usual. "Wait, comic-con? You 'wondered' into comic-con?" He asks, thinking that was the one he had wondered into.

Kael moves over to stand next to Max, just looking into the box at the rings. He's not a comic book fan like how boyfriend here. But he has read a few back in the day when he was still in Texas.

Owen shrugs. "Ah'm not sure," he admits. "It was in the city, Ah wasn' payin' attention tah where Ah teleported…ended up in this huge, noise room with all these people in costumes and comic books an…" he chuckles nervously.

Max gives a laugh. "Well, you picked me out a good one, Owen." He says, giving the big fuzzy-man another hug. "Next time you can see me dress up." He offers, sticking out his tongue in playfulness. "You guys are awesome, sorry I was real late though."

Kael perks up at the dress up part and he snerks a bit. Oh the images in his mind. "It's not like I had much to do in the morning anyway." Besides going back to the penthouse of Keith's. Yay for training.

Owen returns the hug again, reaching out to ruffle Kael's hair afterwards. Leaning over, he whispers something to the aerokinetic. "Ah ported the comics that go with those rin's tah your room so ya can surprise Max with 'em," he whispers. Grinning and stretching slightly, the fuzzy young man shakes his head. "Ah don' mind bein' up. Don' sleep much as it is," he remarks.

Max gives a bit of a yawn. "AIrports drain you, man. I feel like I could sleep for days." He comments, dragging the last bag of his with him as he starts heading towards the dorms. "Kael, you, me, and a pool tomorrow, I don't care how sweaty I get."

Kael chuckles a bit. "Agreed." He starts to head towards his boyfriend, hefting the bag up onto his own shoulders as he starts to walk with him to his room. Might as well spend some time together.

Owen smiles and takes a deep breath. "Right. Ah'll leave you two tahgether then. Ya'll make sure he gets tah bed, Lil' Breeze," he tells the aerokinetic. "An' its good tah have ya back, Max. Ah missed ya," he says. There's a pause before he gives both younger mutants playful and gentle swats on the backside. "Now get movin' tah bed an' all. Ah'll see ya later," he laughs.

Max at this point, is crashing fast. He'll try to stay up as long as he can, of course, if he is prodded at by Kael to sleep, he wouldn't disobey him. "Night Owen!" Max offers before the two make for the dorms.
