Xavier Mansion - Medical Bay
The Medical Bay contains the latest medical equipment to patch up students and X-Men with the smallest and worst injuries. Six beds line the walls for injured patients. Equipment lines the walls, medicine in the cabinets, and more serious medical supplies locked in cabinets. One this about this room it screams sterilization.
Up until about ten minutes ago, Daisuke was sleep, he's since woken up and is looking through a small box in his lap of pictures. He has a bandage around his head and around his wrists and is still hooked up to an IV. He's got a few cuts and bruises but other than that, he seems fine. He's got a sort of sad expresson on his face as he flips through the pictures.
Dressed in street clothes, Brian walks into the medbay, he had heard his good friend had been abducted again. So his fellow former horseman wanted to show his support. "Hey Daisuke." He rings out, his tone a little monotone since he's been going through some stuff.
Pallaton seems to have just heard the news and has been pacing outside (of both the room and Daisuke's view) for about twenty minutes now trying to figure out just how to speak to him. A few minutes later, he's finally decided and knocks twice on the door to Dai's room, his head poking around as he asks. He waits for Daisuke to say before he even enters, though. Maybe he's just wary of Daisuke, given what was said, or maybe he's being polite. Hard to tell with the wolf-man. "Umm, Daisuke? Do you mind if I come in?"
Daisuke smiles at Brian. "Hey Brian, how's it going, and Pallaton, heya!." He says grining at Pallaton too. He got most of his crying out with Eddie yesterday and right now he's just happy to have company, it gets boring down here. "How are the two of you doing, and thanks for stopping by."
The energy manipulator looks to Daisuke, moving over to his bed. "I hate coming down here, but I know you probably hate it more. I'm alright, just tired of seeing people get taken away. First from Sinister, then from Sinister again…" Brian neglects to mention the Horseman thing at all.
Pallaton nods, entering the room and standing near Daisuke's bed. "I…" He stops, looking off to one side. "It's nothing. Don't mention it" he replies, dodging Daisuke's question of how Pallaton himself was doing. "Have you been okay since you got back, Daisuke?"
The smile from Dai's face drops as Brian mentions all that and he looks down, slowly putting the pictures away. "I know, I'm bad luck, don't remind me. And I'm okay Pallaton, just a few bruises and cuts, I was dehydrated but I think I'll be able to get off this damn IV soon." He says sounding hopeful. "I'm hungry though, I've mostly been stuck eating soup down here."
"Just do what they say and you can get out of here ASAP." Brian takes something out of his pocket. "I got these for you, I left the notebook upstairs. After seeing your room was destroyed, I knew you'd need new ones." He hands over a set of drawing pencils to Daisuke.
Pallaton seems to have had a brainstorm at that comment of Daisuke's. "Hungry? Well, what do you like to eat? I'll see what I can do for you, just name it."
"Anything." Daisuke says with a chuckle and as Brian hands him the pencils Daisuke takes a deep breath. "Thanks, I heard most of my stuff was destroyed. At least this was saved." He says pointing at the box. "Addison rescued it for me, and I guess some of my art but I have to go clothes shopping. "Just, anything but soup Pallaton, a burger would be great." He didn't get fed that much when kidnapped and what he did eat did not taste good.
Pallaton nods. "I'll see what I can do for you." He then looks at the box, before going all quiet again. "My room was hit, too…" That's all he says on that before changing the subject again. "I don't mean to dig up bad memories, Daisuke, but if you're okay with talking about it, what happened? I picked up that the you I spoke to smelled different, but I didn't hear much more. I was…" Another pause. "Out of the area for a few days."
Brian gives a nod to Daisuke. "I've got a sketchbook for you too. I'll give it to you soon." The energy manipulator looks to the towering individua, not sure what to think about him. "Summers' has people working on the repairs right now. Those guys who the mansion helped out a while ago. They keep everything hush hush. And work fast too."
"Everything I owned was in my room Pallaton. It's just, I'm still a bit shocked by that. I'm just glad because this box here, is most the memories I have of my brother and mother. If I lost this…." Daisuke shakes his head. "Thanks Brian, I'll probably be doing some drawing when I get out of here right now, it's kind of tough. I don't know Pallaton, don't worry aobut it." He says not really wanting to talk about it at the moment.
"I'll let you rest, man. I'll be back later." Impulse says before moving to leave the medbay. He knows that he doesn't like talking about what they had to go through together with other people. So he has little interest in persuing the subject. "I'll catch up with you later." He says, moving out of the door.
Pallaton nods, though the comment about the box got to him. e just stares off into a corner of the room for a minute before coming to. "Right." He nods to Brian as he leaves, but stays in the room. It looks like there's something Pallaton wants to say, but he can't quite find the words. Finally, he gets straight to the point. "That wasn't you, was it? It wasn't the other you, I mean."
Daisuke smiles and waves to Brian. "See ya later Brian and thanks for stopping by!" He says as he looks back to Pallaton. "Huh..Pallaton…about two weeks ago, I was…again because one of my powers is to detect weaknesses. They switched me out so there worlds me could find the weaknesses around here so they could attack.." He says hating the fact that he was vunerable again.
Pallaton nods, but looks even more troubled. "So then what that world's you said to me… is that how you truly think of me?" He's thinking things over in his mind as he listens and speaks, but it just leads him into a spiral of thought.
Daisuke blinks at Pallaton and seems confused. "I..I have no idea what you're talking about Pallaton. I don't know what he said to you, but I know him and…." He takes a deep breath. "Shuya, were nothing like me and my brother." He looks down, averting his gaze from Pallaton as he tries to keep himself from tearing up.
Daisuke isn't the only one tearing up, but Pallaton doesn't hide it. Instead, in perhaps what could be coined as an 'Eddie Moment', Pallaton just grabs Daisuke and hugs him, forcing out a few words between stifled sobs. "I'm so sorry! I'm sorry for everything!"
Daisuke doesn't know what Pallaton's apologizing for but he just cries into Pallaton's fur. "I was so scared Pallaton." He admits and if Addison wasn't around with him and Eddie yesterday, he probably would have done the same to Eddie.
Pallaton doesn't even mind. He's like a big fuzzy, blanket, really. Albeit a weepy fuzzy blanket. "It's okay, Daisuke. Me, Eddie… everyone here. We won't let it happen to you again, I swear on my life. I said a lot of hurtful things, but I never meant them. I'll do whatever it takes to protect you from them." He sniffles a few times before calming down a few minutes later. "Did you… see the other me?" he asks out of curiosity.
Daisuke shakes his head. "I didn't see anything, for two weeks. They kept me blind folded but I only heard their voices and some woman's. I also heard that they were going to attack the school." Daisuke says whiping his eyes. "Don't make promises you can't keep Pallaton, everyone says it won't happen again and it does some how. I'm a magnet to bad luck."
Pallaton breaks off, but keeps his hands on Daisuke's shoulders, staring him in the eye with fierce determination. "Then if it does, I'll find you. I managed to tell there was a difference by the scent. I'll sniff you out to the ends of the planet, if I have to. I'll make sure you come back as quickly as possible, Daisuke."
Daisuke smiles and brushes his hair back. "Thanks Pallaton, and man I need a shower." He says as he's been cleaned up but he hasn't showered in two weeks. "I just can't wait to get out of here though, Addison said he'd help me with my powers like he helped Eddie figured out more about his."
Pallaton nods, sitting in a seat now. "That's good. I need to get back into regular training myself, I think." He then pauses, thinking for a bit. "This might sound a bit strange, Daisuke, but can you do me a favor? I want to know my own weakness. Eddie did something to me while you were away, but I don't know if it's related or not…"
Daisuke looks at Pallaton, confused, and nods. "Sure." He says as he stares at Pallaton with an intent concentration. After a few minutes he just says "Toxins, poisions, strong scents." Daisuke says before snapping out of it. "Oh, and giant cats." He says, the last part teasint Pallaton trying to lighten the mood a bit.
Pallaton blinks at that last part, before chuckling. Looks like he took it seriously there, for a second. But the first part has him thinking. "Right… so Eddie's sleeping gas bombs might've killed me… That explains why I hurt when I woke up…" He seems to be mumbling to himself as he pieces it together in his head. He looks satisfied and nods to himself, looking over to Daisuke. "A lot of stuff happened. I'm sure Eddie filled you in."
Daisuke nods. "A bit, but I only just woke up yesterday. I heard about the attack on the school, and the dome around Mahattan and a few other things." Daisuke says with a yawn. "I've been sleeping so much lately and I'm still tired." He says as it's probably his body trying to recover from the ordeal.
Pallaton nods. "I know what that's like, having to sit around and recover." He chuckles. "When I was just a pup, I was practicing with my strength in the woods and managed to knock down a tree. But it's not a good idea to run directly away from said tree. Ended up out of it for a week."
Daisuke yawns again and nods. "I do this a lot, well I'm going to get some sleep again. Thanks for stopping down Pallaton, next time, bring a cheeseburger." He jokes as he smiles as Pallaton before falling alseep moments later.
Pallaton nods, standing. "I'll bring three." he says with a smile, before waving and heading off to let Daisuke sleep.
