NYC - Central Park Lake

Bethesda fountain sits at the edge of the lake with a large terrace for people to hang out and relax. Benches sit under the trees creating a peaceful atmosphere. A dock stretches out into the lake for people to rent row boats to enjoy the entire lake. In the distance Bow Bridge can be scene crossing the man make lake.

It's still a fairly nice day, the medic grabbing a hot dog, fries, and a soda from one of the path vendors. Sitting not too far from the fountain, enjoying the meal break before she's off to work, in a distinctly New York City sort of setting. Ketchup and mustard, salt on the fries, yum. Black leather, jeans, motorcycle boots. Blonde hair loose for the time being. Just sort of hanging out.

Walking past Brielle on her bench, Kenta sits down not to far from her with his guitar case strapped to his back. He swings the case to his lap before sitting and goes to light up a cigarette before starting to take out an accoustic guitar. He's wearing a black leather jacket over a tanktop, showing off some strange black tattoos on his upper chest. As he smokes, he starts to tune his guitar, offering Brielle a friendly smile and nod as he does so.

Brielle doesn't smile, having a big bite of street dog in her mouth. A finger catching the condiments from her lower lip, to lick it off before she waves briefly. Eyeing the guitar a moment, perhaps even a little hopefully. You know, hoping he's not horrible with it. A sip of her soda, just watching. Waiting.

It takes Kenta a bit to tune the guitar, about the time it takes him to finish his cigarette, before he starts to play. He's made sure to lay the case infront of him so if anyone feels like tipping him, they may do so. He doesn't do it cause he needs the money but the extra funds help and Kenta just loves to play music in front of people. His fingers strum lightly over the accoustic strings and what comes out is anything but offensive, he's actually quite skilled when it comes to playing. After a few chords he starts to sing as well.

Oh good! She's been stuck next to some less than talented buskers in the past. She looks just a little pleased, at hearing the pleasant sound. About to compliment him, she holds her tongue when he starts to sing. Munching on her french fries, instead, eyes still watching him. One booted toe tapping.

That's one thing that Kenta does have, talent. It might be the only thing he's talented in, singing and playing the guitar, but he's put his heart and soul into over the years. It's almost a wonder he doesn't play for something more than a New York Park. As he sings, it's a song of a lost love and the mood of the song seems to become more intense with faster chords as it goes on until it comes around and slows at the end. Once he's done with his one song he looks around and gives another polite node to Brielle since he sees that she's watching him.

Awww. Bri's touched, really. Even if it's a subject on which she has zero experience. Finishing up her fries, as he's finishing up his song. She doesn't bother to feign embarrassment at being caught watching him. He's probably used to it. "You're very good."

Kenta smiles at the compliment. "Thanks, I love to play so I'm glad you enjoyed it." He says looking around him for something and then sighing. "I always forget to bring a bottle of water." He says with a chuckle. "I'm Kenta, Kenta Gilpatrick" He says leaning over across the bench to offer a hand.

"I've been forced to listen to much, much worse." Bri chuckles. "Brielle. Brielle Masterson." Shaking his hand, after wiping it on her napkin. "Nice to meet you."

"Well I've been forced to play much, much worse too." Kenta adds with his own laugh. "And it's a pleasure to meet you Brielle. So do you have any musicans blood in you or are you just a fan of it?"

Brielle grins. "Oh no. I don't know if anyone in my family is. I'm not. I focus my talents elsewhere. I just like music." A hand through her hair, tucking it behind her ear. "How long have you been playing?"

Kenta thinks about it for a few moments once asked how long he has been playing. "I started taking lessons when I was about ten and voice lessons a year later, over twenty years now." Kenta says with a nod. "Hey, and people who like music are just as important as people who can play it."

Brielle nods. "Wow. That's a lot of committment. And well, if there was no one around to listen to it, what would be the point?" A smile. "I listen to a lot of things. Rock and industrial, mostly. Germany influence."

"I never got into much of the Germany music, not too much industrial." Kenta says trying to think of which Industrial bands he might know. "I guess everyone knows Rammstien as German but yeah, that's about it for me. I like a lot of English rock and Irish punk type stuff."

"Spent a lot of time there, teenage years. Army brat. Got into it. Fun for me." Sipping at her soda. "Most people know Rammstein, but for all the wrong reasons. I like some punk, though I've never been huge on it."

"I've never gotten a chance to go to Europe, been in New York City most my life." Kenta says chuckling. "I wish I got more of a chance to travel but it's hard. And hey, whatever music is fun for you, go for it. Just..not that Gospel stuff." He says joking around. "So what are these wrong reasons that people know Rammstein?"

"Been all over the states, got to go live in Japan for a year, spend time all over Europe while Dad was stationed in germany." Bri shrugs. "Those kids shooting up that high school in Colorado."

"I actually lived in Japan for a year too, but I don't remember it, I was a baby. It was before I was adopted." Kenta says shifting so that he's a bit closer to Brielle instead of a large gap in the bench. "Oh yeah that, I was in middle school when that happened. I don't really remember it much."

Brielle grins a little. "I was lucky enough to be old enough to appreciate it. Way different than here. So's Europe. Makes me appreciate a lot of cultural stuff I wouldn't know about, just living here in the States." A timer goes off on her phone. "Crap. Have to start heading for work. Have a nice double today." A roll of her eyes. "It was nice to meet you, though. Maybe I can catch you playing some other time."

Kenta winches. "Ouch a double, well it was nice meeting you Brielle, and yeah, hopefully you can." Kenta says with a wink. "Well have a good day and keep sane at work." He says as he shifts on the bench so that he can start playing again as he'll probably be out in the park for the next few hours.

Brielle slides over a small business card. "Maybe we can hang out sometime. See you around!"
