NYC - Statue of Liberty

Lady Liberty, a sign of freedom, the number one tourist spot in New York City. With her seven pointed crown and glowing torch, she stands on Liberty Island at the base of the Hudson River as a beacon welcoming Immigrants, Visitors, and people coming home to America. People can take a ferry out to climb up to the top and get a magnificent view of lower Manhattan and Northern New Jersey.

It is a beautiful sunny and warm first day of Spring in New York City, so Shen Xorn (using an image inducer to look like Jet Li and dressed in jeans an a blue t-shirt with a grey hoodie and carrying a backpack) has decided to visit one of America’s greatest landmarks, the Statue of Liberty. He walks around the island enjoying the views of the statue and of New York and New Jersey. He finds a nice spot and opens the backpack to pull out a small meditation rug. “Nothing like meditating in the warmth of Earth’s sun on the first day of spring.” Those close to him may notice that the voice sounded something like Darth Vader’s and didn’t necessarily seem to come directly from him. He unfurls the rug, sits in a meditative pose and closes his eyes and chants. Some tourists may think it really is Jet Li and begin to snap pictures, which Shen ignores.

Fiona somewhere behind 'Jet Li' leans a girl clad in black, watching him with an amused look on her face.
"You know, you sit down there like that, people are gonna think you're weird." Of course, she's definitely one to talk - everything about her is slightly off. She moves closer, resting her elbows on the metal railing. She's so pale; she looks almost like a vampire. Except she's not turning to ash in the afternoon sun.

Shifter has been spending way to much time indoors and may be picking up a slight addiction to video games, so he's basicly decided to check out some of the touristy stuff in New York City, as all he's really seen of it is underground, he's dressed in dark blue jeans, sneakers and a light blue long sleaved shirt, other than his silver eyes the mojority of his mutant features he been shifted away, so far he's unimpressed by the statue, 'Whats supposed to be the big deal?'

Having heard the pale girl speak, Shen turns to her, though his eyes are still closed. A voice says,
“True, but perhaps those that think I a weird will learn to find the peacefulness and serenity of life, even in a place like New York City.” He smiles, “Do you find this weird? My sitting here and meditating?” He opens his ‘eyes’ and looks at Fiona. He has not yet noticed Shifter.

"Well, I suppose it's a little strange, yes. I do find it that way." Fiona shrugs slightly, stifling a yawn. "I mean, this place is pretty busy, isn't it? Can't imagine that makes it any easier." She glances over her shoulder; she spots Shifter, but he looks fairly normal. Not like Splinter over here. "But hey, whatever, I guess, right?"

Shifter has spotted the other two but sees no reason to draw attention to his himself, meditation makes no sense to him but it's not all that interesting, looking up at the statue again he still can't find anything particularly interesting about, maybe the video games have jadded him a little.

“Yes, I guess right.” Shen frowns a bit as his meditation is over. He stands and starts to roll up the rug and put it in his backpack. “If one is able to meditate is such a busy place like this than it can be done anywhere. I personally find it easier in a busy place as opposed to a quiet lonely place.” Shen doesn’t like quiet lonely places. “How rude of me. I am Shen Xorn.” He bows his head to Fiona, “And you, young Miss?”

"That's quite an interesting name. I'm Fiona, Fiona O'mally! It's… erm, Irish. Of course. She smiles faintly, "I'm sorry if I interrupted you, I didn't really think about it." She blows her bangs out of her eyes momentarily, "Do you come out here and do this often?"

Shifter decides to head back home, more to do there anyways, as he walks past the two talking he catches part of what Fiona's saying, 'Yeah cos that doesn't sound like you just made that up on the spot'.

“Well, it may be made up. I’m not sure.” He says as Shifter walks by catching that random thought and says it loud enough for Shifter to hear. Shen turns watch as Shifter walks past and then looks to Fiona, “And if it is even made up. It is a nice name. And no this is my first time to the statue. I haven’t been in the country for very long.”

"Oh! I come out here every now and then. Especially when it's nice. My skin doesn't like too much sun though," Fiona laughs, pausing for a moment, "What do you mean, even if it's made up?" she furrows her eyebrows. "I guess it is a pretty plain sounding name." Violet eyes follow Shen's gaze and settle upon Shifter again, a puzzled look crossing the girl's face.

“I did not mean too, but you thought that very loud and in my direction.” Shen looks with Fiona towards Shifter. “It is far from a plain name. Fiona. I’ve not heard that name before.” He offers as he looks between to the two young powered beings.

Fiona may or may not be powered! "Psychics! Everywhere. I feel like I'm being stalked; no offense, but I run into them a lot, it seems like." Rather interesting though - she'll have to be a little more careful in the future. Still, she knows know way of truly guarding her thoughts. "Well, thanks!"
Fiona's thoughts pretty much mirror Shifter's own, 'Wow, Mayfair was the only one i've met round this part of the country, seems weird to have two of you guys so close by'.

Xorn blinks a bit when he hears the name Mayfair as he has heard it before from Ahdi. He looks over Shifter for a moment and then remembers him from the mind scan he did of Ahdi’s confrontation with him and others at the reservoir. He says nothing for the moment, but then offers, “Well, there are many more of us in this part of the country.” He happens to live with two of the most powerful at the Institute so telepathy is nothing too new to him.

Fiona smiles a little bit, "It's no problem really, but, just be careful. You might find out stuff you didn't wanna know." She glances over at Shifter, looking rather confused - the boy has not said a word, and yet Shen seems to be having a conversation with him, so she figures he must be communicating mentally. Still, somewhat disconcerting.

As Shifter leaves, Shen realizes that he too must be leaving. He turns to Fiona, “Well this was a short but very nice encounter. He bows to Fiona, “Nice to have met you.” With that he walks off to catch the ferry and that is about to leave.
