Xavier Mansion - Danger Room
A product of Shi'ar technology, the room generates apparently solid, realistic imagery by manipulation high-resolution force fields and holograms. The walls and floor appear as a steel room until a program is turned on. Overhanging the room in the center is a control Room managing the room's mechanisms to oversee the exercise while ensuring the subject's safety.
Earlier in the evening, Kael had approached Julian about a Danger Room session he was wanting to do. Julian, while not overtly enthused, did feel confident that he could teach Kael well in this situation. So, as he normally does, he accepts the challenge. Standing in the middle of the steel room, putting on his gloves and making sure that his uniform sits just right on him. He's awaiting the arrival of Kael in the Danger Room. The crimson and black of his Hellion uniform is intimidating, as is it's wearer.
Huh? Hmm? Bad player. No biscuit.
The doors to the Danger Room slide open to admit the aerokinetic; clad in his Corsair's Uniform, Kael looks ahead at Julien as he walks in. His normally brown hair has been dyed white, probably by Christopher or his own doing. The younger male smiles just slightly as he says, "Thanks… for helping me with this."
Julian's cobalt blue eyes look Kael over as he shows up in his Corsairs uniform. "It's all good. So, quick rundown, you want to work on high-speed defensive maneuvers? Or low speed? Evasive, or defensive with a striking possibility?" Julian may be able to fly past mach 2, but he can still scale himself whenever he needs. He doesn't sound impatient, but he doesn't sound like he can just wait here very much longer. Even Julian likes to fly. He definitely shows more emotion than Scott does, but the arrogance wafts from himself.
Kael smiles slightly once more as he flexes his hands. "At the moment, I can't go very fast when flying. Last I checked, I was clocked at sixty miles per hour." Compared to Julian? His speed is probably a turtle's crawl. "So I'd like to learn low speed defensive. And I haven't grasped the capability to use any attacks while flying. Though I am making progress on that."
"Okay, so I'm gonna give us an open field. Get up there and show me something." He says, before pressing a button on his belt and the simulation whirrs to life. An open field, no natural wind to speak of, but it can be made. Julian doesn't say begin, as he's already said it. He waits for Kael to show him what he's got before Julian joins in and gives some opposition.
Kael nods softly, letting the simulation fully rez before the winds around him swirl into life quickly. The aerokinetic pushing himself up into the air before he floated there for a second. Though the 'show me something' has him rise up more into the air, corkscrewing for a moment before he just lets the wind vanish under him. Letting himself free fall a bit before he catches himself and takes off once more in a lazy circle.
Julian gives a nod, looking up at Kael. "Right, that'll work for big stuff, but you won't be able to dodge energy blasts going like that. But I do like your freefall move, not a lot of people do that so they may not see it coming." Julian says, rising up to Kael's level, and moving twice as fast as Kael was, even attempting the freefall, catching himself below and rising back up. "The corkscrew is good, also remember an 's' pattern.
Kael nods a bit as he watches and listens. He grins a bit, "Thanks." He blinks a bit and then looks up at the sky for a moment. "An 's' pattern? Kinda like how a snake slithers?" He flies up in that kinda form before he floats back down and hms a bit. "Would a Zig-zag work too?"
"Yes, both would work, though if you zig-zag, be sporadic. Don't end your runs at the same time, mix it up, keep them guessing." Julian offers up, giving an example, showing Kael what he means. The telekinetic uses different levels and lengths to keep it unpredictable.
Kael nods more as he watches Julian, smiling a bit as he tries it himself. Bursts of winds sending him this way and that, at random times before he slows to a stop and looks back over at Julian. "Think we can try with some stuff firing at us?"
Julian looks back to Kael, an impish grin on his face. "I thought you'd never ask." Julian says, returning to Kael's position before pressing another button on his belt again…
