NYC- Avenger Mansion - Kitchen
The kitchen is over sized, preparing for the possibility of cooking for large numbers. All the appliances are silver and black, lending to the sleek design for the kitchen interior.
It sucks when you have dreams that make you wake up more confused than not. It throws your entire body off kilter, and leaves you not knowing what you want to eat or drink. Kaji sits at the bar, a sandwich made in front of him as he has a knife skewered in the middle of it. The mutant turning it in circles as he lets out a grumble. "Honestly, I don't think I can deal with this myself much longer…"
With an important meeting set for the next day, Tony was all ready back over at the Avenger Mansion setting things up in the War Room. With the amount of information that needed to be covered he needed all the time he could get to make sure that he had all the ducks in a row, so to speak. Running on nothing but will power only got him so far, so he headed towards the kitchen with several computer pads, and files in his pants pockets.
Kaji lifts his head up to note someone coming into the kitchen, and seeing that it's Tony; that just makes Kaji lower his head a bit more. Muttering to himself as that knife is setting to the side of the sandwich and he lets out a soft sigh. Probably hoping that he's invisible at the moment if Tony's too busy.
This run in wasn't entirely unexpected, but a bit sooner than Tony would have liked. At first Stark completely ignores the presence of the wolf at the bar in favor of searching through the fridge for something to eat. Finding nothing interesting he settles on snagging a bag of chips from the pantry then leans up against a wall. The silence in the room is so thick that you can taste it. The way Tony's eyes are boring holes into the side of Kaji's head may be a sign that the man's anger is still bubbling just behind the surface.
Kaji looks back up at Tony, wincing at the gaze he's getting before he lets out a sigh. At first is voice is just barely above a whisper, Tony probably can't hear it. "I need help."
If the room wasn't as quiet as it was, Tony wouldn't be able to pick up Kaji's softly spoken words but as it stood, he could. Slowly crossing the tiled floor Tony approaches the bar where Kaji is sitting with an untouched sandwich. The chips are set down in favor of pulling out a computer pad to bring up a specific file. When the file is loaded, Tony places the device on the bar, "You won't see everything, but you will see enough."
If Kaji starts the file he will see a security recording of Starks apartment at the Towers. The angle is from out in the living room looking down the hall towards the master bedroom. The entire event replays from when Kaji entered the bedroom, to Tony arriving. Kaji will clearly hear the argument then see himself thrown into the doors knocking them open. From there the wolf shifts and strikes Tony. The voice of the wolf after the attack then the wolf leaves the apartment, out of view of the camera. The file ends after that moment.
Kaji blinks a bit, looking as if he's about to bolt out of the kitchen as Tony gets closer. But when nothing happens, the mutant looks down at the pad; tapping it with a finger to start the video… although reluctantly. He lets out a soft groan as he watches it from the camera's point of view before he pushes it away lightly at the end of the video. "I don't remember doing that.. as I said before. But, seeing it… Me, even if it wasn't /me/, did it… Damnit."
"I would be quite the hypocrite if I shut you out without giving you a chance. I've had several chances in my life, so you're getting one now." Tony comments as he changes the display on the device to reveal a different string of information; this time names and contact information. "I've called in a favor with an old friend, who has offered to interview you, and see if they can be of assistance in figuring out your particular problem."
Kaji lets out a soft laugh as he looks at the information on the pad, quirking a brow at it before he looks back up at Tony. "Thanks, Tony." He looks down at the pad once more before he mutters, "I guess saying 'Sorry' again wouldn't do much. And that I absolutely suck at trying to find information out to help me. Even my dreams are becoming confusing."
Tony reaches into the bag of chips, and spends several minutes simply plowing through handfuls of salted chips. "Look, I've got not a clue what is happening with you but the fact that you inadvertently took out the two people closest to you is a bad omen. I also, do not relish getting my head caved in before I get to go out for curry." He walks across to the sink to wash off his hands before returning to lean up against a counter near the bar. "I can only offer what resources that I have, and hopefully you'll figure out whatever is going on sooner rather than later."
Kaji runs a hand through his hair. "I wish I had a clue to give you. But at the moment, all I got is that the wolf that I've had under control for most of my life is now basically giving me shit." He looks back over at Tony with a soft sigh, "I'm trying to figure it out. I honestly think I just need to talk to him face to face."
"Somehow I don't think you mean finding a wigwam and going on a spirit journey," Tony says wryly. "You're first stop is to follow that list of contacts, the important one being Emma Frost. Word of advice, don't piss her off, she could make you think you're a chipmunk in love with an elephant." Tony shrugs his shoulders as he pulls out another pad from his pants pocket to work on something for the meeting. "As for what has gone unsaid, about us," he gestures with the computer device in his hand, "I can't see us existing in the same space if you're going to go Remus on me."
Kaji lets out a soft laugh, running both hands over his head before he lets out a sigh. "Right, another one I have to watch what I say around. As if Taskmaster wasn't enough." He looks back up at Tony with a quirk of a brow before he says, "Going to go Remus on you? I think you may have finally said something that goes over my head, man."
Tony shakes his head to try and ward off his initial response. "Remus, uncontrolled werewolf…" Damn Stark and his pop culture references! "I don't know what you're looking for. Frankly, I'd have expected a little more remorse for nearly killing me but eh." Tony picks up the bag of chips to return it to the pantry. "You shouldn't be worrying about the eggshells you're walking on, you need to be worrying about what got you put in that position."
Kaji looks up at Tony through gaps in his fingers. "Honestly, I'm still trying to get over the fact that somehow the wolf in me got control over my body, shifted, and then clocked you over the head." He runs his hand through his hair and lets out a sigh. "I'll make it up to you when I can get everything under control, Tony. Trust me on that."
"Heh, trust you on that, really?" Tony says folding his arms across his chest. "I don't think you realize just how deep of a hole you've dug yourself into. I don't trust people by default, and I trusted you, look where that got me. I'm not saying that there's no hope that we'll be able to get things back the way they were but it sure isn't going to be a snappy fix."
Kaji lets out a laugh. "And I just keep on goin' deeper." He sits up in his chair, looking down at the sandwich with a mutter. "As much as I wish it to be." A soft sigh flows from him before he looks over at Tony. "Thanks for the contact information for Emma…" He moves to stand up from his chair. "You don't happen to have anything that'd knock me out for eight hours would you?"
Tony shrugs, "We have someone who works in the med bay here at the mansion. I'm sure if you talk with them they might be able to help you in that aspect." Seeing that this conversation is pretty much over, while its still civil, Tony starts leaving the kitchen. Once he's at the door he turns around to face the wolf. "I'll see you around."
Kaji nods absently before he walks back towards the counter and grabs his sandwich. Might as well force himself to eat. "Right." To the med bay part, and then he looks back. "And I'll see you around." With that, he's off to get some forced sleep.
