Not at Xavier's

It's well past midnight when James gets the chance to pick up his phone and give his squad leader a phone call. He's only been gone 4 hours top, but in that time he's already generated a reason to interrupt Kenta's evening—or morning depending on how you look at it. So, with phone in one hand, steering wheel in the other, the hyena waits for the other line to pickup.

Lying in bed in his apartment in Greenwich village, Kenta was passed out in bed. Hearing his phone ring, he sits up in bed and fumbles it a bit before looking to see it's James. Sounding like someone whose just woken up, Kenta mutters into the phone. "Everying okay?" He figures there must be some reason he's calling him past midnight.

"Hello! Oh, every-thing's great, Kenta. Thanks for asking," James says with an air of sarcasm in his voice, "Just driving around…picking up runaway skunks who decided to skip town. How are you?"

"Well that's good." Kenta mutters as the sound of him digging for something can be heard. "Runaway skunk? What are you doing waiting…oh…oh! Shit." He says as he sits up in bed feeling a lot more awake now that he knows at James is getting at. "Jinx? That's the runaway skunk isn't it?"

"And Lucas says you're not smart enough to lead the Paragons," James says into the phone with a grin. Lucas didn't, but it won't stop James from causing some trouble even at this distance. "Yes."

"There's the sound of Kenta obviously lighting a cigarette as he talks to James. "Eh, Lucas says a lot of things. Anyway, so yeah, runaway skunk. Do you want me to do a pick up for you? Let me know where you are, I can meet you there and have her home?" He knows James wanted some time alone and not with anyone else."

"I think that's exactly the wrong thing to do right now," James answers back, "She just spent the last few hours telling me how much is wrong with the school. I'm no psychologist, but I think she has issues with Xaviers." There's a pause, "I dunno what to do." He groans a little, sounding disgruntled, "You trust me not to get you fired?"

"If anyones gonna get me fired, it's not anything you're gonna do James." Kenta says honestly as he knows he's not a role model for these kids but hey, he's trying. "Right now it's on you. If you think having her there is a good thing than you two just have a good time out there okay? And so yeah, I trust you."

James snorts into the phone, "I think it's an awful idea, but I'm kinda past the point of no return on this one." After a pause, the hyena emotes a quick, " I'm not cut out for this kinda crap. I got enough going on without someone else’s drama, you know?" There's a sigh, the type normally follows the creature as he runs a hand through his head fur, "I guess if anyone asks her and I just forgot to update my plans? Say she thought I was going to tell you and you thought I was?"

"Better yet, I'll just tell Emma that I forgot to tell her." Kenta says as he doesn't mind taking the wrap for this one. After all he'd rather do it this way. "I'll leave her a memo." He says half sarcastically. "I know James, sorry you had to have a stow-away if you need a vacation from this after this vacation, lemme know. We'll see what we can do. If you need a pick up at anytime though…lemme know."

James phhhhts, "I'm gonna cut it short, I'll have to…but it's only for a few days. I mean, what can go wrong." He waits a moment before adding, "Whether it's with me or someone else, she'll have to come back. So, for now, lets try it the…no-force way. Worse comes to worse, I call you, you send the jet, right?" Simple as that!

There's a pause as Kenta takes an inhale off of his cigarette. "Sounds good James, and what can go wrong….actually can't really think of much." He just makes a mental note to talk to Jinx when she gets back since the two haven't really gotten to know eachother yet. "Send the Jet…sure." There's a bit of a chuckle as Kenta can't fly it, not yet at least."

James signs. He hates the proverbial digital leash…but the situation just changed, so he'll change a little with it, "I'll give you a call now and again to let you know what's up." proving he's able to do more than act the part of security, he adds, " I seriously doubt she brought her phone, but she has her inducer. Not sure if Forge puts tracking chips on those if her phone is at the school."

"Not a clue, and just call me if you think it's needed. I really don't need to be babysitting you." Kenta says as he might have seemed worried a few weeks ago but he's gottne over it and also he's still in a sleepy state. "I'm not going to be tracking you or going out there unless you feel it's necessary. While you're out
there, you're the boss James."

James grins at the phone, "Finally, someone that understands. That's why I like you Kenta. I'll let you live another day." There's a snort, then a quick, "Gotta go before she sees me talking to the fuzz. I'll let you know what happens. And… Thanks."

"Good, and can you let me sleep another night?" Kenta jokes and it can be heard that's he's falling back against his matress. "No problem, and I should go before I wake the kid up. Be safe out there and see ya when you get back."

"Ehhhh," James states, "We're 2 teenagers with barely controllable super powers—who can barely stand one another—running amuck in the woods for the next several days without adult supervision. Just like in Lord fo the Flies! What can possibly go wrong!? Sleep well, Kenta."
