Westchester - Salem Center

The parking lot that serves Salem Center is expansive. The mall building being the largest in the area, most of the traffic is aimed for there. However, there are a number of independent buildings along the edges of the parking lot and across the street. Benches dot the sidewalks that line the buildings, along with trash cans, bushes, trees and lamps. There is a large archway that leads to the mall entrance.

It's a chilly October Day and Daisuke's recently turned another year older but he didn't really say anything to anyone about his upcoming birthday. He's 19 years old now and he's decided to spend the day to himself and kind of reflect on it. What the last two has been to him and that's it's almost hard to think of himself as the same person years earlier. So much has changed. While wandering out of the Grind Stone, he has a cup of hot chocolate between both his hands and goes to sit down on a bench. He sips on his drink as he does a mix of people watching and self-reflection.

The chilly day here is cause for bundling up, and Wesley didn't differ. As the young man walks out of the shop he works at, not much is on his mind, just a little bit of reflection himself. His arrival here was strange itself, showing up to his father's doorstep, to not only threaten his life, but the life of his father's wife and son. He was so passionate in his threats and actions. He hasn't been like that since then, finding some peace in Westchester, and pieces of a family. Weley passes the bench, only to sit down next to Daisuke, giving a light smile.

Daisuke returns the smile to Wesley, recognizing his best friend's brother. He hasn't talked to Wesley much but he has met him in passing before. "Hey, interesting running into you out here. How's it going?" He says taking a sip of his hot chocolate again, blowing on the cup a bit to not burn his tounge.

Wes looks to Daisuke and nods. He's been working on getting a GED, and has improved his social skills some. "I w-work over tthere." He says, pointing to the store. "I'm okay, you?" He asks back to Daisuke.

"I don't have a job, I should get one." Daisuke says thinking how his last one kind of ended when he just stopped showing up to Hilary's theatre. "I'm doing alright, just letting my mind wander, resisting going into the art store. I don't need anything at the moment but if I go in there, I'll need half the store."

Wesley laughs at Daisuke's statement. "T-the art store h-has that effect on m-mmost." The electrokinetic has been thinking of getting into an art himself, but hasn't quite decided on which. "Christmas jobs are c-coming up soon, m-maybe you should t-try the mall?"

"Really, that's a good idea." Daisuke says smiling as Wesley. "Are you a fan of art at all?" He asks since Wesley seems to know what effect they have. "Maybe I should go in, treat myself to a late birthday present or something." The idea of new paint brushes and oil crayons is always exciting.

Wesley gives Daisuke the so-so sign. He prefers the musical arts a bit more. "Happy B-birthday!" He says, smiling to Daisuke. The electrokinetic used to make sure that he remembered his fellow captive's birthdays, made living up there better to have just that little bit of happiness.

Daisuke smiles and blushes slightly. "Well it was back on the thrid, eleven days ago. So thanks anyway. I didn't really tell many people, I always feel weird on my birthday." Daisuke admits. He didn't even tell Jared or Eddie. "What about you? When's yours?"

"Y-you're welcome." The usually quiet teen bids. "A-april fifth." About a half a year away, Wes is still trying to catch up with those his age, though it isn't impossible, he was six years behind five months ago.

"So you've still got a bit of time, I bet Eddie will want to celebrate that." Daisuke says with a smile. He knows his best friend has been really happy having an actual family and doing family things. "So how old are you Olly?" Daisuke asks, not sure of his age.

Wesley nods, knowing that Eddie would as well. "Eight-t-teen." He offers, simple enough of age. "It's g-great meeting him, a-and getting out of t-there." He offers, though the nametag he wears at work says his real name, with the chilly weather, it remains hidden with his hoodie.

"I just turned Nineteen so we're not too far off from age." Daisuke says with a smile at Wesley. "Getting out of there? Getting out of where?" Daisuke asks not really sure what Wesley is talking about.

Wesley's eyes grow wide. "C-canada. I was…t-taken from my family up there." Wes tries to put it in a way that doesn;t mention slavery, that's what Jericho told him to do, right? Damn, he can't remember.

"I've never been to Canada." Daisuke says as he silently wishes that he was taken away from his family at some point, mainly his father. "So do you go to school or anything around here?" Daisuke asks since he's not about to say out loud, hey! Are you a mutant too?

Wesley shakes his head, not really going to a school. "N-not really." He offers, though he does not get the subtle sub-question. Or else he would have answered yes. "D-do you?" He asks in return, thinking that that's proper ettiquitte.

Daisuke shakes his head. "Not anymore, I graduated. Two years ago. I just don't have anywhere else to go and noone else really so I've been sticking around at your brother's school doing a sort of tutor thing." Daisuke says as he's kind of lost without Xavier's. It's his security blanket.

Wesley nods to Daisuke. "I was supposed to b-be out of school by now. But I'm b-behind." Wesley says, though the mention of Eddie's school gives a wide-eyes expression. "Y-ou went there?" A series of beeps comes from his watch.

Daisuke nods. "Yeah, I just did my senior year there. That was it and now I'm just kind of sticking around there." Daisuke says standing up with a yawn. "Sorry to cut this short Wesley but I think I'm gonna hit the art store before I miss dinner at the school." He says smiling at the other teen. "I'll see you around okay?"

"I g-gotta get back to work aa-nyway." He offers, before standing up and smiling back. "Kay! See you a-around." Wesley starts walking abck to his store, small break, but it was interesting.
