Xavier Mansion - Recreation Room

What was once the Parlor has been turned into a Recreation Room for the students. A nice plush carpet meets the light blue walls giving it a homey feel. A pool table at one end, a foos ball table at the other, and entertainment center with video game systems, movies, and of course, cable TV. Big comfy chairs and couches surround a coffee table for comfortable loafing. Long glass windows with a pair of French doors line one side of the room bringing in plenty of light during the day. The main rule in here is to clean up after yourself.

With classes being done for the summer, Robyn's been enjoying the fact that he doesn't have to go to them. He ended the year with mostly B's so he knows his parents won't be upset with him. At the moment he has a plate of oatmeal raisin cookies in his lap, breakfast of champions, as he sits crosslegged on the couch watching The Fairly Odd Parents. He's wearing an Edward Scissor Hands T-shirt over a black pair of jeans. Robyn really does need to develop more colour in his wardrobe.

Shelly didn't really take much in the way of classes here this summer. That's probably because she showed up during the last week of the school year. So she's that student professors probably don't recognize all that much. She's got her blue tank top and a pair of shorts on, a bandage wrapped around her right forearm. She's just come from the gym herself and has grabbed some grapefruit to eat. She does pause to look over at the television to see what's playing right now. "Morning," she says casually to Robyn during a pause in the dialogue on-screen.

It's then that what appears to be a pair of jeans and a t-shirt with no one inside them, come walking into the room. There are boots and a pair of sunglasses too. This is Robert Weyrin, new teacher who's gotta wait till the fall to actually teach a class. With a slight arching of an unseen brow at the TV, Rob nods to Shelly and Robyn. "Good morning."

Robyn gives Shelly a smile and swallows a mouthful of cookie before smiling. "G'morning." He says with a wave. "I can change the channel if you want, it was just the only thing on." He's not used to morning televison. As Rob was in, Robyn grins and waves at him. "Hello Mr. Weyrin." He says, he likes him because he's like the invisible man and thinks it's neat.

"This time of morning? Only thing on aside from this stuff are a few cartoons and the various Morning shows. It's alright. Definitely beats the junk that's on around 3 in the morning," Shelly says. "I'm Shelly, by the way. Don't think we've met yet; I just got here a few days ago". And then the professor walks in and the new student can't help but jump back a little. "Sorry, sir. Startled me". She takes a bite of her grapefruit because she is rather hungry, like always.

Rob lets out a little sigh as Shelly jumps back. "Oh c'mon. I'm just invisible. There's a giant werewolf, a guy that's constantly on fire, and a giant doctor walking around," he deadpans. "Don't worry. I get that a lot. Mind if I join you two for awhile?" he asks, holding up a paper bag that doubtlessly contains his breakfast.

"Whose constantly on fire?" Robyn asks curious as to who that could be. "I've met the giant doctor and Lon Cheney and yeah, I can be considered a vampire?" Robyn says as he reaches forward to take Shelly's hand. "I'm Robyn. I've been here about two months? And yeah, I like stuipid cartoons." He may have the look of an emo kid but he's generally happy looking.

"Sorry. Only been here for maybe a hundred and fifty hours, so I'm still getting used to all this," the girl tells Rob. Shelly will accept Robyn's hand, and he'll get a fairly firm handshake from the teen. Though she does raise her eyebrow a bit at that. "A vampire?" She sounds more confused than concerned right now. "And feel free," she adds to the professor when he asks about joining them.

Rob moves to sit on the couch. "I was being sarcastic, Shelly," he says, mildly amused. "And it's another student. I'm having trouble remebering his name just yet but I've seen him in the hallways a few times," he replies to Robyn. From within the bag, Rob takes out a bottle of sweet tea and a salt & garlic bagel.

Robyn nods. "Yeah my mutantion made me a vampire but not in the creepy undead need blood to live Dracula sense. I'm a psychic vampire. I actually need to aborb pyschic energy to function but Mr. Falk helps me so I'm not accidentally absorbing from people anymore." Robyn says taking a bite out of another cookie. He says it all like it's normal and there's nothing wrong or creey with his power. "I'm still learning how to use my power though."

"Yeah. Mine is that I don't need to sleep or get tired," Shelly says with a shrug. "Helps me with some physical strength too, and I can sort of focus the energy into short bursts of physical power. Haven't learned how to control that yet at all though," she admits. She takes another bite of the grapefruit. "Sounds like a tricky power to learn how to control," she admits to Robyn. She decides to grab a spot on the couch as well now, because it is there. "How long have you both been here?" she asks.

Rob remains mostly quiet, food and drink just vanishing into thin air as he injests it. A few moments ater Shelly asks her question, Rob shrugs. "Not too long. Little over a month."

"I think about two months, which is about how long I've known I'm a mutant." Robyn says with a shrug. "It is, I mean there's more I can do than just that but I have to learn how. So you don't get tired or sleep…ever?" Roby asks sounding surprised. "What about dreaming?"

"Never slept in my life," Shelly says to Robyn as she takes another bite of her grapefruit. "So, I've never actually had a dream like most people. I suppose it sounds really kind of strange, but dreams also sound really strange to me, too. Thinking you're in a place when you're really just sleeping is something I don't quite understand".

Rob quirks an unseen eyebrow. "Never slept in your life?" he asks. "So your parents kept you hopped up on pep-pills till puberty?" he asks, wondering what's going on there.

"It does sound weird." Robyn says just coming out and saying it. "Dreams are cool especially when you know it's a dream and can manipulate it." Robyn says but then he's quite imaginative and his dreams tend to be on the strange side. "It also helps with my art when I can remember something neat that I saw in my dream and then I go sculpt it.

Shelly shakes her head. "No sir. I never needed to sleep, even as a baby. I was born with it. It confused the doctors pretty well until my parents decided to clam up about it," Shelly explains to Rob. She then turns to Robyn. "Might be part of why I'm not quite as creative as some people when it comes to art and music. I enjoy them, but creating them isn't something I'm particularly good at," she admits.

Rob lowers his breakfast slightly. "Alright, that just doesn't sound right there," he says. "I mean, mutant powers don't kick in until someone reaches puberty," he says, not knowing otherwise. Eventually he just shrugs and sighs, returning to his breakfast. "Oh yeah, Robyn, you might be interested to know that I'm taking over as the leader of Alpha Squadron for Mr. Parker-Mayfair."

Robyn shrugs. "I don't know much about this stuff, I just know that one day in German class I just passed out." He never bothered studying the specifics of the X-Gene. "I kind of have to be creative." Robyn says with a laugh. "My Mom's an artist and my Dad's a musican so they always encouraged that sort of artistic thing." Which he's happy for. When Rob anounces he's the new leader he grins brightly. "Cool!"

"I didn't start really doing the bursts until puberty, but the not sleeping has always existed. Don't know if some are from birth or not, but I know I've never had to sleep. Makes getting homework done a little easier, I'll admit to that," Shelly tells Rob. She looks over at Rob. "Congratulations," she adds to Rob at his announcement he's now a squad leader.

Rob shrugs, planning to read up more on things in the school files later. Biology and genetics were never his areas of expertise so he'll need to do research. Robyn's reaction surprises the invisible teacher and he just nods. "Yeah…thanks," he murmurs, caught off guard.

Robyn shrugs. "I never liked homework so I probably would use that extra time to scuplt or play the cello or watch too many movies." Robyn says with a chuckle. "Having Vincent Price marathons would be so easy without needing to sleep. So Mr. Weyrin, when is our first session with you going to begin?"

"Used it for tennis and building stuff when I was a kid mostly," Shelly tells Robyn. "Though it meant I could budget time pretty well so I could space out the boring homework and it wasn't as bad". She does take another bite of her grapefruit. "Are there more than one Parker-Mayfairs around? I know my squad leader has that name, but he leads the Hellions, not Alpha Squadron".

Rob looks up thoughtfully. "I haven't quite decided yet, Robyn," he says. "But I'm probably shooting for Saturday morning," he adds. "Full uniform in the Danger Room. Once I get one of those uniforms anyway. Won't get it till tomorrow," he says, not sure how those Unstable Molecules will work with him. "Yes. There's Mr. Parker-Mayfair, Dr. Parker-Mayfair, and their two sons but one has the last name Stone," he answers Shelly, having been momentarily confused when reading that in the computer.

Robyn doesn't really know any of them but Eddie but he doesn't know Eddie's last name only having met him twice. "I just know the Doctor is that huge guy walking around, kind like Dr. Jeckle but permantly in Mr. Hyde size." Robyn says with a smile. The kid just loves his monster movies. "I only know a few people here, Owen and Jordan are the two people I mostly know." Robyn's not exactly Mr. Social McSocial Pants. Sure he's nice but he doesn't count that many people as friends.

"Alright, just making sure I wasn't confused about what squad I was supposed to be on and everything," Shelly admits. There are a lot of people here that she doesn't know yet. "I've yet to run into him, what with finals and everything going on. Mostly I've just been getting adjusted to the mansion". Though she should go find the guy at some point.

Rob nods, finishing off his drink. "Sounds like a good idea to meet your squad leader and probably your squadmates too," he says. "I should find the rest of my squad later," he mutters. "And don't worry. The mansion is big and weird but you get adjusted sooner than you'd think."

"Well the squad is Jordan, Jared, Jay, Antonio, Laura and Me." Robyn says as he knows he's been working with the same people for about two months. "It's been just Me, Jay and Laura though for a while since Jordan and Jared went missing for a bit and Antonio…I don't know where my roomate is." Probably back home doing his important Italian things. "It's not bad here, and there is usually a good supply of cookies."

Letting out a thoughtful noise, Rob finishes off his breakfast. The invisible man wipes his mouth with a napkin then stuffs it into the empty paper bag before balling it all up. "I'll have to meet them all," he says with a nod. "You get Vincent too, Shelly. Pryce's twin," he chimes, having seen it in the files when reading up on his team.

"Two Robin's…I'm still not used to it." Robyn says as it's the first time he's met someone with his name, well someone at the same school. He looks down and realizes he's eaten all his cookies and movies the plate to the table. "I just mainly know…" And before he can finish his sentance his cell phone begins to ring. "It's my Mom, I'll be back in a bit, I gotta answer this." Robyn says as he waves and heads out to the hallway.

Shelly nods and hears her watch beep. "Speaking of, I need to go take care of a couple things. Bike got bashed up a little bit yesterday and I need to finish fixing it up. Didn't quite get it all done last night. Got a little distracted. Good meeting you both". And the girl heads out with an easy wave to the two.

Rob blinks a few times as the teens leave. "See ya," he offers. After a moment, Rob scoops up the remote and starts flipping through channels.
