Xavier Mansion - Woods

Pine, Oak, Birch, and many other trees can be found in these woods. Paths lead all through out them for students to take walks. The occasional bench can be found along the paths. Students shouldn't worry about wandering too deep in these woods as its almost impossible for them to get lost here.

It's early evening but there is still light coming through the trees. Sometimes fresh air helps one clear the mind and thus the reason Robyn is out in the woods today. Sitting with his back against a tree off the beaten path, he is flipping through an old sketch book of his. Sure Robyn isn't the best of artists but he does do a bit of sketching before he goes to sculpt. He's in the mood to start a large project but he's trying to figure out what.

The silence of the forest is broken by James as he comes tromping down the well-used path. Having been upwind, he was unaware that Robyn was anywhere nearby, and judging by the set of the hyena's jaw, the other boy is not exactly welcome. Shoving his pockets a little deeper into his BDU's, he hunches his shoulders and prepares to walk past. Muttering a quick, "Hey, " the hyena slows to see if a barrage of insults follows. After last night's run-in, it would be expected.

Looking up at James there's a tenseness from Robyn as his hand clutches the side of the book. "Hey." is returned but it's said in a flat and quite voice. "Don't worry, I'm minding my own business." He says with maybe a hint to much anger and bitterness in his voice as he goes to look back down at the open page. James could probably smell the emotions of hurt, anger and annoyance coming off of Robyn.

"UmHm, " James says as he comes to a halt, nose flaring. "Last night wasn't about you or me, Robyn, it's about the bigger picture." There's a soft sigh, "I'm not going to argue your feelings today. But, try to keep in mind I just chewed out the only person I've ever fully opened up to and for an instance thought that I was stupid for doing so. So I think we're both allowed to be a little raw. "

"But you made it about you and me." Robyn says back as he does look up at James. "I'm not going to argue why you said what you did or felt what you did to Rashmi, I don't really like it either but you showed me last night why you shouldn't care too much about your friends or their business. So from now on I'll do my best to stay an arms length away, okay?"

"Robyn," James starts, "You're the one that made the our issue about us. I tried to leave. You tried to guilt trip me with the whole 15-minute thing. If you both had just left me alone, I'd have gone back to my room, sulked for a bit, and probably e-mailed her later or something." He pulls his hands out of his pockets and holds them up in frustration, "Now, it doesn't really matter."

"I wasn't trying to guilt trip you James, I'm sorry." Robyn says as that wasn't his intention. "It's just I knew you guys missed each other and…it wasn't about guilting it was about other stuff." He gets really quiet as he mulls things over in his head not saying half of what he's thinking.

James shrugs, "Yeah, well I'm taking a page from Rash's book and trying not to be an ass about it. But, she needs to take one from mine and stop working for the enemy." Crossing his arms, a visible frown forms on his muzzle, "Her idealism is going to help get people killed or something. Holy hell, Robyn,.4 months ago she was freaking out about him. Now she's working with him. You know—the guy that could like pull the moon out of its orbit."

Robyn puts a hand out and pats the ground next to him for James to sit down. "I don't like it either for several reasons. One, it's Magneto and that guy scares the hell outta me. I'd be like her going to work for Mr. Sinister or that AIM company or something. She's doing it for the right reasons but…it's Magneto. Two, she's going to burn herself out. It's inevitable and she's going to pretty much give up her life for her ideals." He signs and puts down the notebook. "I don't know, maybe we just gotta trust her or do we step in and do something? I don't know James." He's not sure if a good friend just sits by and watches or a good friend is active, both tend to blow up in your face.

The hyena doesn't take the offered seat, but instead finds a tree to lean against. "Shes going to do whatever and in part because she needs to see the good in everything. Theres nothing I can say to convince her otherwise. Already tried." He puts up his hands, "Anyways, if I'm trying to leave, I want you to let me leave. None of this Hollywood 'wait' whatever stuff. If I'm leaving, it's because I think it's what's best. And I'm the only one around here that knows me best."

"I know, it's the way Rashmi works. She has that 'hope' thing." Robyn then nods and brushes his hair back. "Okay James, I won't try to stop you next time." Robyn says as he looks down at his lap. "Just keep in mind James that I -am- your friend and even if I do something you don't like, don't treat me like I'm someone you don't really care about. I did offer to leave, you just should have said you wanted me to leave or just continued to walk off and talk to me later about it, like a friend."

"I did tell you I wanted to leave, " James says in response, "The whole security thing? Walking off? If that's not clear enough I dunno what is. " To him that's as good as spelling it out. Seeing it another way will take ore effort that Rashmi ever had. To the rest she shrugs, "Yeah, and about the F*Bomb. I was feeling cornered. Didn't mean it like it came across. So, yeah, you know. " Again, to him that's an apology, Seeing it another way; yadda yadday yadda. "You are my friend Robyn. "

To Robyn that's enough of an apology and there's a smile to the hyena. "Man, we're a bunch of fuck up here, aren't we." He says shaking his head and he does believe it to a degree as well. "Oh, I'm still gonna try to have that picnic soon, Rashmi told me I should go ahead with it and I convinced Connor to come along. I just gotta talk to Jinx and Lucas and set a date. And then finish planning stuff." Like food and how to get there.

James grins, "We are." There's a sigh, "Somedays too much so." To the rest, his ears perk up a little. "I can talk to Jinx for you. We're good friends now. Being killed by an urban legand does that to you." As does discussing a shared, unlikely-seeming future vision. The next question isn't a good one considering the former topic, "Is Rash coming?"

Robyn nods. "Yeah, she's coming. She said she would make sure she's not working unless you're not ready to see her again…I can figure something out." He doesn't wany any tensions there but then it might be inevitable. "And thanks for talking to Jinx about it but I gotta see her too, I haven't seen her in a while so which ever, it doesn't matter. Who knows when the next time we'll all be able relax."

"Yeah….about that," James sahs as he unconsciously rubs his shoulder against the tree, "Selene still had some of her voodoo on me. Kenta took me to see some guy named Doctor Strange today. He removed it. Says I'm really, truely, influence free now. Gave me tea…and a bunch of weird things to read." He fishes out some flyers from his pocket to show Robyn, each with titles like, 'Demonic Possession and YOU,' 'Why Life-Sucking Vampires are a Bad Idea' and '7 Things Not To DO With Your Soul.'

"Selene still had…well I'm glad it's removed. That's…thank god James, you didn't deserve any of that. And Doctor Strange, that's really his name?" Robyn says as he can't help but look at the title of 'Why Life-Sucking Vampires are a Bad Idea' and point at it. "Once your done reading that one, lemme know if it says anything about mind sucking vampires and if I'm bad for you."

James grins, "They're only bad for you if they havn't had their daily dose of art." He gives Robyn a long look, "You are kinda a vampire, arn't you? I never really considered it like that. Hmm!" He shrugs and puts the papers back in his cargo pocked, "So…we cool then?" He pushes off the tree and takes a step forward.

Robyn stands up and looks at James for a second. "I guess we are." He teases. "Of course James, honestly I don't know how long I'd ever be able to stay mad at you. It's funny, I feel closer to you than I do Jordan…" He admits before shaking his head. "Anyway, speaking of my daily does of art, I think it's time I go do that."

James nods, shoving his hands in his pockets. It's a strange thing. Months ago, that might have bothered. Now, he doesn't bat an eye. "Well, thats cause we're like almost brothers, eh?" He smiles, avoiding saying anything that might insult Robyn's taste in men, or Jordan himself. He never had issues with the other teen. Well, that he can recall. He goes to give the 'vampire' a hug before resuming his walk, "Alright…I'll see oyu around Kay?"

Robyn returns the hug and nods. "Definately, see ya later James!" And with that Robyn heads back to the school to spend the next many hours in the art room.
