Xavier Mansion - Art Room
The Art Room has pictures of classic artists and small sculptures of famous pieces of art around the room. Any art supply you need may be found in this room, a large variety of paints, charcoals, markers, pencils, clays, canvases, easels, paper, and much more are accessible for the students. A large kelm is in one of the far corners of the room as well. On one side of the art room are a few sewing machines with a large variety of fabrics and sewing supplies for the students as well.
It's gonna be another allnighter for Robyn in the artroom tonight. He's got a few empty cans of coke with a few unopened ones on the table that he's working on. There's music playing in the room as he works, a sort of technoish style which helps keep him awake. He's in the middle of working on female figure that stands about a foot tall. It's just taking form and not much can be told right now except that it's a female humaniod.
Lucas leans his head in, looking around. "Robear?" He smiles when he sees the other kid. "Hey. Impromptu art show." He steps inside, closing the door. "Mind if I critique?"
Robyn looks up and gives Lucas a smile and waves a clay covered hand. "Hey Lucas, it all depends if you want to critique my work in progress or one of the few things I have around here." He says as he looks through his various tools to decide what to do next. "So, did you hear who the leader of our team is?"
Lucas laughs, "Tell you what, Ah'll only say nice things." He tilts his head, "No. To be honest, I got the memo it was happenin', an' ain't heard nothin' since. Ah figured someone decided to not let it happen."
"It's happening, and the person supervising us, well, I'm not happy about it would be an understatement." Robyn says as he gets up and washes his hands so he can start showing Lucas some of the stuff he has here. "They put Selene in charge of us, Connor thinks it's something to do with a punishment for her or some bullshit. I almost quit the team before our first training session cause of it."
Lucas furrows his brow. "Selene?" He sighs, "Wow." He leans against the wall. "How am Ah supposed to lead a team reportin' to that monster?"
"I know, it's total bullshit but we gotta deal with it." Robyn says sounding none to happy. "I figured if I quit, it'd be letting her win, I just have to watch my temper around her, I snapped the other day. We just gotta work as a team and make sure we do the best we can so that way we don't let her win. She's probably expecting us to fail but I'm not going to give her that satisfaction."
Lucas' shoulders slump just a bit. "Damn." He leans his head back against the wall. Staring at the ceiling, he sighs. "Ah don't know if Ah can lead reportin' to her, Robyn. She almost killed us."
Robyn walks over to Lucas and place a hand on his shoulder. "Lucas, I know she almost killed us. How long was I in the medbay because of her? I hate her probably as much as you, Jinx and James for what she did to us but if we let her defeat us like this Lucas….we can't. We can't let her get the best of us again. To me that's not an option."
Lucas sighs once more. "What about James? How does he feel about bein' on a team run by her?"
"James.." Robyn begins with some hesitation to his voice. "James didn't get invited to be on the team. I don't know why, I wish he did but as of right now it's just You, me, Jinx, Connor and Theo. It's gonna be…a rough start but we really have to watch each others backs. Make sure we don't do something stupid cause I know I might. I already did and she, well I have to talk with Ms. Frost about what she said to me."
Lucas furrows his brow, "Ah was under the impression Connor was the one who might not be on board." He scratches the back of his neck, "Was it James' choice or Frosts?"
Robyn shrugs. "Honestly, I don't know. I don't think it was James' choice. It could have been Ms. Frost's, it could have been that bitch's. I don't know what these people think at the school. But I don't trust Selene, not one bit. I don't know if she has some ultimate plan but I'm not going to let her get to us again. I'm hoping that it's only temporary."
Lucas looks at Robyn, "Then what if you, me, Jinx and Connor all walk?" He shrugs, "We stand up to the school. Let them know it's not acceptable to thrust us under the tutelage of evil?"
Robyn thinks about it for a while before answering. "Honestly, I don't know if Connor will walk but if we do, we just pretty much let Selene win. She goes on her way, happily since she doesn't have to teach us and we don't get the advance training we all want." A part of him does like the idea but he doesn't think that it's a valid solution.
Lucas furrows his brow again, "Why won't Connor walk?" he asks, slowly and carefully, as if he suspects there's something going on there.
Robyn runs his hand through his hair and thinks about how to answer. "Well, Connor wasn't around when it all happened so he really doesn't know. He…vanished? switched? shortly after Selene shoved me in front of that car. He thinks he has her all figured out and that he can..beat her at her own game? I don't know how to word it. Just, I know she scares the hell outta me."
Lucas sighs, "Well, Connor has been different the last month or so. He thinks he knows everything, and has some kind of complex that if you question him, you're against him. It's going to be a problem." He shakes his head, chewing on his lip, "Ah dunnow, Robear. My gut says if the school is putting supervillains in charge of training, this isn't the kind of place we should be."
"Well I'm gonna be talking to Ms. Frost this week sometime, Rashmi's probably gonna come with me." Which is odd since she doesn't go to the school anymore but Robyn talked to her about the issue. "I have to talk to Ms. Frost at the very least about Selene threatening me by putting me on lithium. I know she was just pressing my buttons but I'm not just gonna let her get away with stuff like that. As for Connor, I tried to talk to him about it and right now, I think our best option is just sticking together and watch eachothers backs."
Lucas furrows his brow again. "This is just bad." He exhales softly. "Well… As of now, Ah ain't even been asked if Ah'm on it, let alone been given the official okay that Ah'm our team leader." He shakes his head, "Until those things happen, Ah'm not sure Ah can do anything."
"Selene said she planed on meeting with you, so I'm pretty sure you're on it." Robyn says as he is pretty positive Lucas is a part of the squad. "Right now the only thing we can do is watch out, keep our tempers and just have each other's backs. As much as I know Theo and I don't get along, I know I have work with him to get through this. We can get through this together Lucas, we just gotta work to do it."
Lucas sighs again, "Sure…" He stands back up straight again. "Magneto… Frost… Selene…" He shakes his head, "This is the beginning of problems, Robyn. Bigger than us kids." He furrows his brow, "Maybe we need to have Rashmi get is in touch with someone at Barnes. Maybe Tony Stark? Someone needs to know Xavier's is falling to villains."
Robyn nods. "That's why we need to stick with this training, it's gonna be hard Lucas and it'll help us get stronger to fight if it's needed. Also we, even as kids, can keep an eye on Selene. As for Rashmi….talking to her usually brings about a good answer so that's not a bad idea. I want to also talk to Ms. Frost and just see if she can…explain a bit better? I don't like this, especially with Selene and Magneto. Luckily it's my last year here."
Lucas nods, "Be careful. Frost isn't exactly a hero, either, Robear. She's Hellfire Club. With Selene." He purses his lips, and then nods again. "Be careful." He heads for the door. "Ah'll leave you to your sculpture. It looks good."
Robyn nods to Lucas. "I will be careful, you as well. Remember, we're a team Lucas and that means, we're there for each other." He says with a smile meaning more 'I'm there if you need it Lucas'. "Thanks Lucas, she should be done tomorrow then I'll come to find you to show you more of my work."
Lucas nods, "Awesome. Night, Robear." He heads out.
