Africa - Nero's Camp
Where the camp begins, all other life ends. Hard dirt with muddy puddles fill the road as it grows close to Nero's camp. This dirt road is much more commonly used than the rest. The gate is closed with cyclone fencing, and wooden watch towers look over the forest, guarded at all times by soldiers.
Inside the fence several stone buildings can be found. Trucks and LAV's move about, soldiers training at most hours of the day. Complete with running water and electricity powered by a nearby wind plant, it could be called the one trace of 'civilization' here. Nero's home away from home is here as well, a large mansion of a building with its own sets of guards to protect the warlord when he comes to visit. A helipad can even be found near the palace, his common method of entry and exit.
Sounds of shots being fired outside can be heard feeling the camps. It has become somewhat routine when a ray of light can be seen getting bigger and bigger at the door to this particular prison compound can be seen being opened by those in the cell with Travis. Two soldiers open the door. They are armed make their way in and sit down on two collapsible chairs speaking to each other in their native language. They appear somewhat jovial and loud as if two friends arguing over the latest sports game. Looking into the cell with Travis and the other prisoners, one points to Travis and seems to whisper to the other guard. In not so good English, “Dat one. Frick. Is Frick.” The other points and laughs. The other rises and walks to the edge of cell, “Hungry? Frick?”
The last week for Travis has been horrible to say the least. His powers have been taken away from him and he's been shot. The image of the boy dying in front of his eyes has been lingering. He's determined to not become the man Nero wants him to be so anytime food and water has been brought in he's been letting the others fight over the small portions for one person. What's been worse than the hunger is the thirst, and he's been drinking water that's been leaking from the roof when he can. He's not doing well though. The shot wound in his arm has become infected from it not being treated and he's wrapped his shirt around his lower left arm as a bandage. Though at least he's been unchained frm the wall. He just looks up at the guard and spits at him as a response.
The two guards look at each other as they purposely try to bait the 'Frick' One guard speaks into a walkie talkie and the other holds on his rifle and points to the unchained mutli-armed mutant. "No understand. American Frick no speak. No hungry?" He aims the rifle near but not directly at Travis, "Better to die?" The one on the walkie talkie goes back and forth arguing with the person on the opposite end of the communication.
Hungry would be an understatement but Travis isn't about to show these guys that. "It's better to die then to serve that asshole Zero you all work for." He spits out knowing that it's not the best answer but he doesn't care. He does make an attempt to kick the guard right in the knee with as much force as he can put behind it.
The guard lets out a loud yell as he is kicked rather hard in the knee. He stumbles over momentarily ut grabs the rifle and attempts to smack Travis in the face with the butt of the rifle. The other guard stops yelling into the walkie-talkie and fires off a shot near to one of Travis' arms. "Frick want to die! I will kill Frick!"
Travis is smacked across the face and sprawls to the ground. He feels the side of his face as the hit hurt. While taking a few seconds to recover the shot is fired and the six armed teen jumps a bit, but doesn't move. "Fuck you." He sptis out. "If you were going to kill me you'd kill me by now."
The two guards back away a moment when Travis curses. The angriest of the guards, being the one who was kicked, takes a step forward holding on the rifle and aiming at Travis, "Don tink I kill you, huh? Stand up! Stand up, Frick!" to Travis while the other gets back on the walkie-talkie, “Bring oder frick.”
Travis uses his upper four arms to push himself up with a bit of effort as he doesn't have that much energy from lack of food and water. He just looks at the other guard and stares at him. Not saying anying but just glaring at him with eyes filled of hate and anger.
"No tink I can kill you. I kill you when I want. You stupid frick." The guard lifts his rifle up when Travis stands up and puts it right to his forehead, "Afraid, Frick? You afraid?" The other guard also has his rifle aimed at Travis and the other prisoners should anything occur. for the most part, they remain quiet and helpless, ut the guard still offers a very scary look to them and Travis.
Travis's body tenses as the gun is pressed up against his head and fear can be seen in his eyes. He closes his eyes and clenches his jaw before whispering. "Then do it." He doesn't want to die, not at all but the conversation he had with Abraham has him feeling that death might be better than the alternative.
"I can kill you. Death too good. Evil man do worse than death!" The soldier shouts when suddenly the door to the outside opens and in steps David Alleyne, the staffer from Xavier's who brought all these people here in hopes of helping and in this goal he has failed. Any vestiges of the man known as Prodigy are gone, in his stead stands a semblence of a man, dressed in a skintight bodysuit colored black and brown, his head shaven clean, his eyes are seemingly gone as his irises and pupils have disappaeared and only a white haze in place of them and around his neck some sort of metallic collar, a power dampener. He walks in carrying a tray with three glasses of water and an assortment of delicious-looking fruit.
Travis doesn't move from his spot and his eyes only flicker to watch David come in. There's a hint of recognition on his face as he comes in and he tries to keep his eyes off the tray, it only reminds him how hungry he is. Unlike David, Travis' powers have been neutralized via some kind of dart. Though seeing the other mutant like that cuase Travis to look at the guard right in the eyes. "Pull the fucking trigger already you worthless piece of shit."
The second guard moves to David and picks up an apple and eats it, enjoying it and purposely making a show of it for Travis and the other prisoners. The one holding the rifle to Travis' forehead moves away though the rifle is still trained on Travis. He yells to David, "Give Frick food!" David obediently walks towards Travis, but is suddenly is struck in the back by the guard eating the apple. The rifle butt hitting David's back knocking him over and dropping the tray. The guard spits on the fruit and stomps and squashes the fruit while the water is spilled onto the floor. David shows no signs of pain as he stands back up. The guard orders him to the only unsquashed fruit. An apple. "Give apple to frick."
Travis immedately reaches forward to help David onto his feet even if he doesn't seem to need it. "What the hell did they do to you." He mutters quietly to David as the change is more of a scare then the rifle being trained on him. At the mention of food though, it's hard to resist when your last meal was six days ago.
Not responding to Travis, David picks up the apple and hands it to Travis. Then he gets smacked on the back of head by one of the guards a moves out towards the door, "He is slave now! Happen to you and friends!" The guards opens the door and then literally kicks David out. The guard who Travis had tripped up earlier laughs, "Save you for last. Go make slave of girls. Pretty red head dark skin and pretty dark hair white skin!" He makes some sexual gestures before he holds up his rifle, "Enjoy apple."
