Xavier Mansion - Attic

Every wall is made of glass up to the domed ceiling. Storm has really done her work up here over time and turned it into quite the indoor garden. The room is separated into different parts for the different plants that are in there. There are flowers, vegetable plants, herbs, shrubs, small trees and much more. There are plants that shouldn't even be able to be found in this northern climate but they thrive up here. Anyone wanting to come up here for fresh herbs, fruit or vegetables are welcome to steal from the indoor garden. Depending on the time of year, various different species of flowers and different fruits and vegetables grow. In one area there are a few small fountains and a bench with some fresh dirt on the the ground with trees and plants all around. It seems like a good spot for meditation.

Zack was sort of exploring, he's in a much better mood then a day ago or two. Color is back, and the large teen just sorta mms and heads up to the attic, the latino setting a big naked foot at the edge of the landing, and pushing himself up, "Woah…thre's a greenhouse up here?" ya he totally didn't know.

Robin climbs up into the attic from downstairs, her blue glowing puppet, Blank, following close behind her. "Oh, hello, sir," she says when she spots Christopher up in the attic. Both the puppet and Robin synch up in their action of brushing hair aside from their faces, though Blank doesn't actually have any hair. She gives a polite nod to Zack, as well.

Mike Drakos has come up to the attic to look out at the sunset. While many greenhouses have frosted windows to diffuse the light and protect plants from harsh rays, this greenhouse has clear windows in places because, he was told, Ororo liked to look out. And this view of the sunset is quite gorgeous.

Christopher hears the voice from Robin and turns around holding a container filled with red and green peppers. "Hello Robin, and I see Zack and Mike are here as well. How are you ladies….or lady…and gentlemen doing tonight?" He asks as he looks around the attic and nods. "And I think I've picked enough peppers for tomorrow, if I need more, I can always come up. And Yes Zack, Ororo loves to keep this place up here."

Zack nods, "I heard singing ya know. So I…I wanted to see who was singing." he looks at Robin, and he bows his head lightly to her, "Hi hello there…" he steps away from the steps so that he's not blocking the way up and down. Big lump that he is, and he takes several more steps towards Chris, "But ya, wow this place is nice."

Robin smiles at Christopher and says, "I'm doing alright tonight. I was thinking of making a pie or something, but I didn't know what kind to make, so I came here for inspiration." She's here more for the produce than the view. She's unlikely to eat much of the pie once it's produced, but there's plenty of kids at the institute who would be more than happy to.

Pie! Drat. More food. Oh well. "I'm here to see what colors the sky takes," Mike answers, "and I'm doing well, thank you sir."
He moves to get a better view. It's really rather amazing… his new optics are, of course, a better resolution than the old ones, and with better color bandwidth than the old eyes. It's like getting a good pair of glasses and not knowing you needed them.

"Oh, you'll find some great inspiration up here Robin, and if you need any advice or anything, let me know. Cooking is kind of my thing." Christopher says with a grin as he looks at Zack. "Oh you heard me singing, it's kind of a hobby, nothing I excel at. I hope it wasn't you going 'what's that horrible noise I need to stop'." Christopher jokes as he looks to Mike. "Ah yes, the sunste is always beautiful with the various colours."

Zack nods his head a tiny bit, "no no I used to sing too…though I really have been tryiing to practice after uh…my voice changed ya know." the large teen nods, "hey wait a second, I recall now. You do hair on occasion right? Was told I could ask you prehaps to try somthing different? Is that all right?"

Robin nods at Christopher and says, "Oh, thank you, sir. After I decide what kind of pie I'm gonna make, I'll bug you for a good recipe." She learned to bake back home, since she was always her mother's helper, but her ability doesn't really compare to someone with real training. So pointers are always nice. She starts looking through the fruit, both her and Blank splitting up to examine things.

Mike fights hard against the temptation to begin reading off the different color zones by their RGB-64 code (especially since he suspects Mr. Parker-Mayfair would recognize it) but the urge to nerd is successfully suppressed and he starts instead quietly playing off his internal radio … The Planets, "Venus". OK, not completely successfully suppressed.

"Talk to Mr. Gilpatrick, he knows a lot about music, me, I just know what I like." Christopher says with wave of his hand. "And yes, I can help you with your hair any style any colour. What were you thinking of?" He asks curiously. "And no problem Robin, I have tons of cookbooks in my room down stairs. Let me know and we'll find one you want to try." The Mike gets a confused look. "Venus?" Okay, that was a bit random.

Zack nods! "Well I heard that, I was just seeing about singing is all that's it. Just that, but uh…ya, for my hair. I don't know. I really don't. You have any recomendations? I'll go along with whatever you decide is best. I just want want somthing different!"

Robin looks up at Zack for a moment and, not really knowing anything about haircuts herself, offers no helpful suggestions. She does, however, offer a dreadfully unhelpful one, "Ohhh, you should get dreadlocks." She seems to decide on a fruit (strawberries), if the fact that she's picking some is any indication.

Mike nods, "Yeah, Holst, you know it, sir? I saw just the last bit of Venus going behind that cloud, and it seemed appropriate."
Mike's life has a soundtrack. Very few people hear it though.

"Dreadlocks? No way," is Mike's reaction to that suggestion. Seriously. Never wear dreads unless you can grow them naturally.

"Well Zack, how about you and I get together in the morning, we can have a full consultation in better light, with a mirror, and I can work on your hair then? How's that sound?" Christopher says as he doesn't comment on the dreads, that's Zack's decision. "And Robin, strawberries…I have a GREAT strawberry rhubarb recipe you can use, there is some rhubarb up here as well." He says as he looks to Mike. "It's a lovely song, and yes, I've heard it before." He says as he looks around. "Well guys, I must be going, I have a husband to see if he's finished for the day here so we can go home. Good night!" He says with a wave as he heads downstairs.

Zack ahs, "A…a dreads? Not…don't think so, but ya, sure sure we can get together and talk about the hair, sure, no problem, no problem at all…" he keeps smiling and nodding his head, "I'd like that, I'd totally like that…" he turns back and let's Robin and Chris talk. Big teen feeling in teh way and what not, waving at Chris as he heads out.

Robin nods at Christopher and says, "Ohhh, that's a really good idea! I love strawberry-rhubarb!" She gives the teacher a wave as he heads out, and continues picking the strawberries. Blank also makes some picking motions, but doesn't actually grab anything.

Duh, of course he's heard it before Mike, the man has had a liberal arts education. "Good night, sir," Mike says, very happy he cannot blush. He looks over to Robin and Blank. "Wish I could taste some of that pie," he says, matter-of-factly. Trying to refocus on the sunset.

Zack rubs the back of his head again, and he looks around the nice greenhouse, "hmmm, I wonder. wonder what to do next." then again he could always try pie!

Robin nods slowly at Mike and says, "Awww, I'm sorry." She thinks for a few moments and says, "I guess you could try to build something that interprets chemical signals into flavour signals, or get someone to build something like that or something. I mean, it's kind of the same as with the eyes you have, but with a different sense organ." She rights herself and, after a lag, so does her puppet.

Mike looks over at Robin, abandoning the sunset for a bit. "Yeah, I could. I'll have to add it to a future schematic, though. It's … kind of a hassle to adopt a new schematic."
He shrugs, as the sunset is now down to levels where he has to turn on the low-light systems to see it. "Well, I'm going to go try to play videogames if one of the machines is free."

Zack ohs, "Well hope you have fun with that then mike, good luck with it"

Robin nods at Mike and says, "Okay, well… I guess I'll see you around, then." She puts her strawberries aside and starts looking for the rhubarb.

Pausing on the stairs, Mike looks over at Zack and Robin. "You know I COULD hang around and kibitz over the pie. You'll need more than one. Zack would eat one by himself in three bites."
Yes, Mike is saying Zack has a big mouth. Structurally.

Zack gives a slight shake of his head, letting his curly ringlets fall over his face and he laughs, "oh, eating a pie in three bites? Come on…not…that bad…" he rubs the back of his head, looking at Robin, "Need help finding somthing?"

Robin nods and says, stopping at the rhubarb, "Oh, I'll probably need plenty of pies, yeah. If you guys want to pick more strawberries or gather more rhubarb, that would be great."

Mike laughs, "I'm not at all a good person for judging ripeness or that sort of thing but I can carry stuff well. If you sould like to pile baskets and bags on me."

Zack nods, "I think I guess…uh…sure sure!" he will start to look for fruit, and rhubarb…sure. He'll try strawberries and he looks back at Mike, "I guess I can pick fruit if you wanna try rhbarb?

Robin nods at Mike and says, "Well, we're not making a crazy huge amount of pies, here, so we shouldn't need too much strength! If you want, I can teach you how to tell if the rhubarb is good."

Mike nods, "Sure. But I'm not going to pick it all. How much will you want?"

Zack ohs, Well Robin will need to answer that! I hope she knows what the ratio is" he keeps smiling.

Robin tilts her head slightly and considers, "Well, I usually get twice as much rhubarb as I have strawberries. But I'm not sure what Mr. Parker-Mayfair's recipe says, so we should get just a bit more. Enough for three or four pies." She hasn't really made a very concrete plan about the pies, just the general feeling of, 'I want to make pie'.

Mike nods, and uses the appropriate rhubarb rubric (knife, base, slice) to get only the red pieces, another basket approximately.

Zack nods as he will get a few more cartons of strawberries and offers them over to Robin, "All right, this enough you think? For how much you want?"

Robin nods her head a couple of times and says, "Oh, for sure! This will be plenty!" Blank also gives a few quick nods and seems to inspect the strawberries that were picked.

Mike pack-mules the rhubarb toward the kitchen. It would be too much if he actually had the "Mule-train" song sampled … sadly he doesn't.

Zack nods and offers those straberries, "There you are, hope it all works out"

Robin smiles and says, "Thanks guys!" before heading down to the kitchen.
