History

Van joined the Marine Corps despite every objection from his family who would much rather have preferred that he become a concert pianist. The corps was both career and vocation and he worked toward becoming one of the top reconnaissance men. He was a Sergeant in Afghanistan when his mutant powers activated to save his life and those of his unit but not before he and others were heavily wounded. He was medically discharged and is now an instructor at Xavier's Academy.
