Xavier Mansion - Attic

Every wall is made of glass up to the domed ceiling. Storm has really done her work up here over time and turned it into quite the indoor garden. The room is separated into different parts for the different plants that are in there. There are flowers, vegetable plants, herbs, shrubs, small trees and much more. There are plants that shouldn't even be able to be found in this northern climate but they thrive up here. Anyone wanting to come up here for fresh herbs, fruit or vegetables are welcome to steal from the indoor garden. Depending on the time of year, various different species of flowers and different fruits and vegetables grow. In one area there are a few small fountains and a bench with some fresh dirt on the the ground with trees and plants all around. It seems like a good spot for meditation.

The day has become over run with clouds and the threat of rain, so many of those that would normally spend their time outside are holed up indoors. Sophie doesn't exactly constitute one of these types, so being indoors isn't exactly an oddity. Standing towards the center of the room, her eye wander from plant to plant while one hand casually scratches at the back of her head. She's not sure if this room is new since her departure from the school, or if it's one of those places she just never had happened upon. The fact that she doesn't know which way it swings is driving her nuts.

Ever since the Sinister incident, Daisuke's been staying quiet, very quiet. He hasn't gone out much of his room unless necessary and has even started in the late night hours with playing the drums. But tonight, he's decided to come up to the attic to enjoy the life up there. The floor boards creak a bit under his footsteps so it's obvious that there is someone else in the room. "Hey Sophie." Daisuke whispers as a big smile crosses his face and he goes over to hug his friend.

Sophie snaps her head in the direction of the floor board creaks and is completely overcome by a humongous grin. "Dai!" She says, with much more volume, rushing over towards him for a hug. It's the first time she's seen him since her own Sinister related incident, though her's was much milder in comparison. Being kept in his holding cells for only a couple days and having very little memories of it doesn't effect the psyche as much as being under his control. Immediately she begins in with an apology. "I'm really sorry I haven't stopped in sooner… I just get… well, you know me, lazy." She tries to accent her genuineness with an even larger smile.

Daisuke shakes his head and smiles. "No, no, don't worry about it Sophie." Daisuke says with a whisper. "It's probably for the best, the younger kids here have been so stressed with drama that it's probably best you're away. I need to move out soon." Daisuke says since he knows he needs to move on and just grow away from Xavier's. "And I remember how lazy you could get." He says with a whisper and a whispery chuckle.'

"Very." She says back, hardly able to stifle a chuckle of her own. Sometimes it's nice to hear certain things just don't change with the students around here, a sort of remembrance of the reasons she originally left. "This place has always attracted drama. A nice thing to get away from." She smiles, watching her own hand scratch at the circuit board covered flesh of her left arm, the designed in complete view due to her short sleeve t-shirt. Then with a nervous twang, she quips in with, "Well, my lease is about up and could use a roommate."

"I think my life has always attracted drama." Daisuke whispers in good spirits. "I've always been happy here but it's an emotional crutch for me, I need to get away, get on my own two feet." Daisuke says with a nod. "And your lease is about up? Well, I could use a place to move into so, it's definitely something to think about. Where are you living now?" His voice never goes above a whisper.

Sophie nods with enthusiasm, "Don't get me wrong, this place is great. It's just nice to get away from it, sort of strike out on your own. It helped me come to an appreciation that I didn't have by the end of my stay." She pauses, itching at her arm with a couple more passes. "And yes, you are a drama magnet, but I think /we/ all are." The stress spoken on the word 'we' hints towards a larger meaning than just the two of them. "I'm living in the Bronx right now, but probably will have to figure out somewhere cheaper than my current apartment. Job doesn't pay the best."

"Well if you need a roommate we can always look around as well once your lease is up. I'll have to get a job too but I have enough in my bank account to pay for a decent apartment." Daisuke says with a shrug. Being the only living family member, Daisuke inherited a decent amount of money plus selling most of his father's estate left him well off for an eighteen year old. "Where are you working now?" Dai whispers.

"Ah, decent schmecent! All we need is something old and with character. What's fun about living somewhere that never has any maintenance issues?" Sophie laughs along with her last comment and finally settles on crossing her arms instead of scratching at them. "Ah, just at this new bar - back in the kitchen though. It's nice and close to my place, which rules. Plus they'll sneak me back a beer or two throughout the night. So they're cool like that."

"I just have to think about what I'm good at and where I can get a job." Daisuke whispers as his last job….well his boss turned out to be /really/ creepy. "There's not much of a market for a starving artist." He says with a whispery chuckle. "And that's cool, you always talked about your parents restaurant, so are you cooking there?"

"You'd be surprised! I think I'm surrounded by the starving artist type, they just decided it paid to find some sort of actual income." Sophie says, untucking one of her crossed arms for a quick glasses readjustment. "Could always find some sort of cool little shop to work at? Tried my damnedest to get a record store job, but I guess it's only plausible if they're hiring." She says with a soft laugh. "Didn't matter how hard I tried to convince them otherwise… Yep, sure am cooking there. Was cool because I got hired there before it opened, so was able to put a little of my own influence on the menu. Like to think of it as high quality bar food."

"I'll definitely have to come down when you're cooking and try Sophie's Special or something." Daisuke says with a nod. "Yeah, so I think that sounds like it's gonna be something to really think about and I'll call you by Friday with my decision but, move out, get a place together and just start putting in applications anywhere for work. Then maybe start College. Go for general studies or something."

Sophie's head bobs up and down rapidly, and if her head were any bigger, she'd come across as one of those bobble head toys. "Yeah, just let me know. It'd be awesome to live with you, but I can understand if you feel the need to live on your own or something." It's more than obvious that she means it and would take no offense if he really did. "Hopefully you're college experience will go a little better than my brief foray into culinary school, but then again I've always hated school." The words fall through her grinning lips. There's a couple taps of her shoe on the floor as she glances about the room. "Ok, so this is a little off subject, but was this room always here?"

Daisuke shakes his head. "HOnestly Sophie, I don't think I can live on my own. I like having someone there. I think I'd get too depressed alone just thinking about everything. I always thought of asking Skyler to move out with me too, I've been lazy with visiting him as well." Daisuke says with a nod. "I always liked school, I'm an odd one. And I don't think it was. I think it's something Storm has been working on and finally finished."

"Whew, at least I'm not crazy then." Sophie says as she takes a couple steps around, circling a small space while getting another glance at the place. "Well… at least not in that aspect." She smiles, nodding her head to all the things Dai just said. "Yeah, it's understandable. Even I feel damn lonely living alone, so there's probably no hope for you, right?" There's an added shoulder nudge with her left fist followed by a dampening of her smile. She hasn't seen Skyler in a while too. In fact, the last time she did see him was when he took her, unconsciously, to Sinister's holdout. "He not around much then? Skyler, I mean."

"Nah you are crazy Sophie, you wouldn't go out with me." Daisuke says with a laugh as he teases as he knows he could deserve a smack for that. "Anyway, no, it's not Skyler that hasn't been around much, it's me. I just don't want the questions and the weird looks about being able to deal with what happened. I mean, how much shit have I been through? This is just another tally on the wall. I just need to see if I can get my voice fixed before moving in." Daisuke whispers as it seems like he's 99.9% sure he's moving in with her.

"Hmpf." Sophie pushes out more air than words, pulling her arms tighter around herself. She's obviously mockingly acting pissed off about the comment, pushing it as long as possible to allow for the proper come back to hit her. "Well, with all that happens around you, who could blame me." Her grin only lasts a few seconds as the sudden thought of possibly going too far hits her. "Uh, yeah, I am crazy though. Stuff will come out when we live together you'd never imagine. I give about a week before regret kicks in." She laughs, opting to take the position that they will being rooming together. "Well, that's too bad, but completely understandable. I can't understand where you're coming from exactly, but I'm sure I can sympathize." She offers up a curt nod, trying to put on her best fake therapist face. "Oh, and I'd suggest not getting your voice fixed. It'll be much easier for me to just scream over you should the need arise."

Daisuke lets out a quite laugh. "I'm sure we'll both find out some interesting facts about each other once we live together." He doesn't have any overly odd habits but he is a bit necrotic about personal hygiene related things and his fear of the dark. "I doubt regret will kick in, I think if I can live with a roommate here, I can live with you. At least we won't be sharing a bedroom, and with you working at a restaurant, you can bring home food after work." He jokes as he gets serious for a bit and nods. "Okay Sophie, you've convinced me, yes. I'll be your roommate." He whispers.

"Sounds like a plan. You're just going to have to get use to eating way late, since the kitchen stays open until bar close." Sophie figures now is the best time to let him know that for the most part, she works late nights. "Can't back out of it now." She offers a simple, but mischievous grin followed by a couple nods. "Do you know how long it's been since I've had someone to force listening to my records? Way too long! So you might want to find yourself some sort of night job, that way you can fall into my schedule with more ease."

"Well have to get at least one drum set as well, piss off the neighbors with our battle of the beats at like four am in the morning." Daisuke says joking around as he does want to finally get his own set of drums. "And I'm totally up for you making me listen to your records if you only let me listen to yours in return. Oh man, I'm getting really excited about this Soph."

Sophie nods with excitement, all the possibilities of what they could do living together running through her head. "We should totally find some sort of sparkly pink or purple drum set. Or one of those see through acrylics! That would kick ass." She says, obviously getting more and more excited with each spoken word. "Our neighbors are going to completely hate us." She smiles with this said, giving the impression that it's how it should always been if you live in an apartment - creating abundant amounts of noise. "Of course! I'm a record elitist, not Nazi."

"You can take the sparkly pink or purple, I like blue." Blue is Daisuke's favourite colour. "Oh I bet they will. Two musicans living together who happen to play one of the loudest instruments known to man." He jokes as drums are just the repetitive 'thud thud thud', and Dai loves it. "I mostly have CD's, do you know how hard it is to find records for Japanese based bands, it's hard enough getting just the CD."

Still saving up so she can actually afford a drum set, Sophie hops on the blue color band wagon. "Blue would definitely be cool. Especially if it was sparkly." She reaches into her pocket, pulls free a pack of cigarettes and begins packing one end into her open palm. "All we would need to really piss them off is some vintage tube guitar head." She pauses on the idea, not quite sure if they'd hate that due to the loudness or the fact that she can't really play guitar. She quick shakes off the though as the pack of cigarettes is stuffed back down into her pocket. "Yeah, that would prove to be difficult. I'll keep my eyes open for some whenever I'm at the stores. We'll just have to hook up a cd player to my stereo. Easy enough."

"Oh, I have a CD player in my room down there, but I'm sure we'll have an awesome place Sophie. So are we gonna stay in the Bronx or look around for something else?" Daisuke whispers getting really excited. "At least all I have to pack is in my room downstairs, and we can have a Sake bar in our apartment. My grandmother mails me Sake from time to time since she knows I like it."

"Awesome. That should work perfect then. My stereo has those row of buttons that switch from the different connections, so we can have everything set up at once." Sophie says, pausing to think of where they should try to live. "Hmmm… not necessarily partial to living in the Bronx. With the public transportation, I can easily get anywhere I need too, right? So I say we live that up in the air." She's all smiles at the mention of a sake bar. "Oh, that sounds amazing. I love sake, but our bar doesn't really have it. Maybe I can convince the owner to let us drink there and start ordering sake."

"I'll have to see if someone from the school can help me drive all the stuff to new apartment when we get one. I'd love a top floor apartment if possible, something that looks like it belongs to college age kids, nothing too fancy." Daisuke says as he's a mix of art and logical but he wants to live in a place that's more artsy. "I can't buy alcohol legally yet but another year and a half to go."

"Cool. Don't worry about me, I'll find some people to haul my stuff where ever it needs to go. Got a couple of co-workers who I could easily call in some favors from." Sophie replies, her arms finally uncrossing and falling loosely down at her sides. "Let me know if you need any help though, as I do have basically all mornings and afternoons off." A more artsy apartment is definitely up Sophie's alley, considering the run down place she's living in now. "A little less for me, but it's cool, the bar is fine with letting me take a six pack home every now and then. Especially if it's something they got cheap from the distributor."

Daisuke nods and leans in to give Sophie another hug. "Well, once we get a place I'll worry about moving my stuff. It'll be awesome, but right now, I think I'm gonna head to bed now Soph. I'm glad I ran into you tonight." He says with a whisper and smiles. "I can't wait to tell Skyler since it's gonna be awesome."

Sophie immediately returns the hug, her face lit up from a smilel. "Definitely. I'll start looking tomorrow and send the addresses over to you as they're found." She nods her head, acknowledging the fact that it is getting pretty late. She still needs to wander her way back up to the city. "Yeah, I should probably head back home. It's be awesome seeing you. Sleep well."
