Log Title: We Will Not Let You Go

Rating: PG-13

Xavier Mansion - Holding Cells

Three cells line each wall each with an energy barrier that can be switched on and off with those with the security codes. The tech here is advanced and not something an average person can figure out. Inside the cells there are degrees of powers suppression, depending on who it's holding. There are cameras monitoring those held in here so there isn't much privacy. Each cell has a bed and a toilet in it and those held in here would be feed regularly. The door leading to the rest of the mansion is made of a thick, heavy steel, and is locked securely by advanced electronic means.

The beginning of this log is missing

"Kai, please!" Kevin is desperate to get the other boy to listen and stop. The tall boy is just outside of Kai's cell as the temporary prisoner throws himself at the forcefield screaming to be let go, "Just stop, okay? Please…" He's in tears, desperately wishing that he knew how to open the cell to try to make the older boy stop, even if it's just by sitting on him. Kev might not be as strong as some of the other kids at the school, but he's still a pretty bg guy. Since he doesn't seem to be able to talk sense into Kai, he fishes his phone out of his pocket and calls for help, "Please hurry? I think I broke him…" Yup. This should be an interesting story.

Ignoring Kevin Kai is still slamming his shoulder and fist against the barrier, "I want to leave, let me out!", he needs to get out, he needs air and time to think, "I don't understand how to do this", his shirt is now abandoned on the floor and his knuckles are starting to bleed from the impact.

Walking into the holding cells dressed in just a black CBGB Tank top over a pair of jeans is Kenta. The black tattoo like markings that cover his arms and chest are fully visible. He crosses his arms and looks up at the two boys, Kevin and Kai. "What is going on here and it better be good cause I just left one of my students to watch my son to come down here and sort things out."

When Kenta arrives, Kevin gives him a esperately pleading look, "I think I broke him." He looks like he's been crying at least a little, too, "He won't stop trying to get out of the cell. I was just trying to get him to open up to me." There's got to be more to the story than that, though… Mention of the teacher's son has him blushing and looking down at the floor, "I'm sorry. I just didn't know what to do."

Kenta's arrival seems to slow Kai a little or maybe he's just tired without his enhanced endurance, still banging his fist on the door but having stopped throwing himself at it Kai says it again, "Let me out, please let me out, i need to be out".

Kenta looks at Kevin and than looks at Kai. "No." Is the response that Kenta gives. "You trespassed on private property and you were warned before. Now just because your in some sort of trouble doesn't give you an excuse. Right now I see you as a threat to my students so tell me one good reason I need to let you out."

Kevin runs a hand through his hair, falling silent for a moment and just generally looking distressed. He waits for Kenta to finish talking to Kai, but speaks before the other boy can respond, "I'm just afraid he's gonna hurt himself." He pauses, his voice dropping to an embarrased mutter, "All I did was tell him that I like him…"

As Kenta says that he won't let him out Kai doubles his efforts, taking his bleeding fist from the barrier he begins throwing the full weight of his back at it, "Let me out!", he starts trying again to will his powers back, his need to escape blocking out his basic logic.

Kenta walks away and when he returns, it's with a chair. He sits down in and leans back, almost taking his time, making a show of it. Once he's considered himself relaxed he looks at Kai. "Why were you so anxious to get on our grounds?"

Kevin moves to stand in an unobtrusive spot in the corner, arms wrapped around himself as he rocks up on the balls of his feet and back down again. He wants to be there for Kai, but doesn't want to get in the way, either.

Kai tries to calm down enough to answer while still trying to get out, "I… Was… Trying… To… Get… Him… Back… On… Campus…", he winces as his back starts hurting, "Now… Let… Me… Go…"

"Kevin is a student here and he would have come back on campus eventually, you didn't need to trespass to get him back on school grounds." Kenta says as he could really use a cigarette right now. "Why were you back here, again, Kai Oaken." He's not happy at all with the situation. "I will say this, you aren't getting out of here without my say so, so it'd be nice to tell me everything."

Kevin's brow is furrowed in a worried frown and he chews absently on a thumbnail, managing not to fidget too much, but it's a near thing. He's probably being just nervous and worried enough that he's starting to get annoying. Poor Kenta…

Frustrated and in pain Kai turns to Kenta and yells, "I wanted things to end on my terms!", he slams a hand over his mouth and steps backwards away from the barrier trying not to look at the man sitting on the chair in front of him, shaking he whispers mostly to himself, "Why won't you let me go?"

"Things won't always end on your terms, life won't end on your terms. Get used to it." Kenta says and he knows it may sound harsh but he's not just dealing with a kid here, he's dealing with what he views as a threat. "Because, I don't trust you, I don't trust you being around here. I told you not to hang around here and you still are harassing the students here. I have explained the rest to you. Now if you have nothing to say I'm afraid I'll have to leave and escort Kevin out with me."

"He wasn't harassing me, Mr. Gilpatrick." No, Kevin was harassing him. "He's a friend and I was trying to get him to tell me what was bothering him." The younger boy sighs and pouts a little, "He wouldn't talk to me, though. He kept telling me that he's not a good person, but I know he is." Forget the fact that he doesn't have any proof to back that belief up, he still believes it.

Kai leans against the wall behind him and slides down it until he's sitting on the floor, "Please just let me go, i thought i could but i… please don't leave me here", he does nothing to confirm or disprove Kevin's story but says to Kenta, "There isn't anything i can say".

"What is this Kevin, Star Wars? He's Darth Vader, there's still good in him I know!" Kenta says before shaking his head in disagreement. "Okay, I'll listen to your argument Mr. Oaken. Why should I let you go?"

Kevin flushes with embarassment and ducks his head at the chastizing, going back to standing silently out of the way, his only argument a quiet, "But he's my friend…" As though that makes everything perfect.

Kai sighs, "Because i can't do it, i thought i could but i can't, you have to let me go so i can go back and get it fixed, all of it, i can't take it anymore", he looks at his bleeding hand, "I don't like it".

"That's not good enough." Kenta says simply. "Go back where and get fixed from what? And what is it you can't do?" Kenta currently believes that Kai was sent here after someone specific and when it came to doing the job, he got cold feet. "Unless you give me a good enough reason, you're stuck in here and then I'll have the Headmistress here go into that mind of yours and rip out the answers."

There's a little squeek of protest from Kevin at the thought of Miss Frost digging around in the head of the guy he likes, though he (barely) manages to bite back a real protest. He drops his arms to his sides and balls his hands into fists, pressing them against his legs.

Kai puts his hands on his forehead looking down with his fingers clutching at his hair, "I can't be around people anymore, i can't deal with all the crap that comes with it, i keep caring about things i shouldn't and feeling things i'm not even sure i can name, i want it fixed or gone i don't care but i can't keep doing this, eventually it will all catch up and i can't do it".

"Why shouldn't you care about things, about people?" Kenta asks as he's getting tired of the ambiguous answers. "Listen I've got a kid upstairs that I need to be with and all this going back and fourth means nothing. So either you get to the chase or I'm leaving which means, you're not getting out."

That earns a little whine from Kevin, the thought of Kai not wanting to be around people anymore, "Even if you don't want to care about people, Kai, it doesn't mean that some of us don't care about you…" He just couldn't keep his mouth shut anymore… The younger teen takes a small step towards the cell, but glances at Kenta and stops.

"Because it compremises things", Kai looks up at Kenta from where he's sitting, "You said if i told you that you'd let me go, i've told you why i'm here and why i need to leave, either get your telepath or not but i need to get out of here, what more do you want from me!?"

"No, I never said that." Kenta says. "I said unless you give me a good enough reason and from what you've told me, I don't trust you going back to whoever is out there." He says standing up and going to walk out of the room though he does turn to answer Kai's last question. "I just want to make sure that my students are safe and you're not a threat, right now I still believe you are one. Good night Mr. Oaken." And with that, Kenta leaves.

Kevin gives another little whine when Kenta leaves without really helping any. Not from what the tall teenager can tell, anyway. He doesn't actually voice his complaint, however, just staying quiet and hanging back, hoping not to be made to leave, himself.

With Kenta leaving Kai is back on his feet slaming his fists, shoulders and back into the barrier again, "Let!… Me!… Go!… Let!… Me!… Go!… Let!… Me!… Go!… Let!… Me!… Go!…"

Kenta stops at the door and turns around to look at Kai. "Are you going to tell me who you need to go back to? Are you going to tell me why you're hanging around the school like a lost dog? Are you going to tell me why you need to rid yourself of whatever it is? Why you're broken?"

Kevin really hopes that the other boy does tell the teacher what's going on, silently pleading with nothing more than a desperate look at Kai for him to talk.

Kai stops with his fists against the barrier, "I can't, telling you could get everyone at this school killed, i… i can't live with that", he turns his fist to rest his palm against the barrier, just hoping and pleading that somehow his supressed powers will come back.

"I'm sorry then, I have to keep you here for now. You just gave me more of a reason to not let you free. I have to look out for what's best for everyone at this school. I'll have someone come down who can tend to your injuries." Kenta says before actually leaving this time.

Kevin won't leave unless he's dragged out, waiting quietly for Kenta to go back to whatever it was that he was doing when he was interupted. He frowns and looks at Kai in the cell, scratching the back of his neck where the hair is getting a little long and just studying the other boy for a moment before speaking, "So what is that tattoo on your shoulder?"

Kai doesn't start throwing himself at the door this time, Kenta has just given him what he needs… a way out, who ever comes to attend to his injuries will have to take down the barrier to do so, he'll have to act quick but he should be able to disable who ever it is without his powers. He gulps as Kevin speaks and he realises that the other boy is still there, he can't deal with the other boy, he can't process what the boy said, "Kenta!, take Kevin with you!, he… i… he shouldn't be down here!"

Oops… Kevin should have waited until Kenta really was gone to speak… He makes a face and sighs gustily, "Fine…" He folds his arms over his chest and slinks out past Kenta, every inch the sulking teenager. It's about time the boy started acting like a normal kid…

Kai just watches as Kenta and Kevin leave, he's gonna need to do some planning if he's gonna find a way to break out while he's being patched up, he's pretty much counting on them not knowing his skills outside his powers.
