Xavier Mansion - Music Room

The music room has four levels of tiers that each sit one row in a semi circle. On the floor in the semi circle is grand piano. There is a large closet on either side of the room, one filled with string instruments and the other filled with various wind and brass instruments. There are a few guitars in the back of the room next to a large variety of percussion instruments. All the instruments here are for the students to use provided they take care of them and clean any necessary parts after they use it. The room is sound proof, so once the door is closed, the music being played will not interrupt the other classrooms.

Walking into the music room looking a bit tired and lugging a cello with him is Robyn. He's decided instead of finishing up his latest sculpture he's going to practice the cello. Hearing the voice a smile forms on Robyn's face as he closes the door behind him. "Hey Lucas, I heard you were back."

Lucas stops playing, turning to look for the voice. He smiles, "Robear," he says softly. He stands, and walks over, giving the other boy a good hefty hug, patting his gloveless hand on Robyn's back all manly like.

Robyn returns the hug and then pulls back. "So how've you been and I haven't heard that nickname in a long time." He says but then Lucas is the only one who calls him that. "There's been a few changes around here but nothing major."

Lucas nods, "Yeah… Ah noticed." He walks back over to the amp and sits down again, leaning the guitar against the wall and looking back at Robyn. "Sorry Ah wasn't here. Ah needed to take care of some things…"

Robyn walks over so he's sitting in a chair next to Lucas, leaving his cello resting on the ground. "Well I hope everything is alright. I've been really busy myself with putting together my art portfolio and got out all my college applications. I'm just playing the waiting game for the most part."

Lucas nods, "Everythin' will be alright. Always is." He shrugs, "My maw died." He swallows, and tilts his head, "So, y'all are gonna leave here? Go away to school, huh?"

Robyn looks at Lucas and his face grows long. "Oh no Lucas, I'm really sorry to hear that. If you need anything let me know." Genuine concern fills his voice. "Well I'm hoping to stay in the city and be able to come by still. I don't want to disappear from here but let's face it, I'm not a superhero."

Lucas nods, "It's okay, bud. She'd been sick a long time. It's good she's gone, Ah reckon." He sighs, and then smirks, "Ah'm not a superhero he says." He chuckles, "Well, you ain't normal, neither."

"Who is normal here?" Robyn jokes as he leans back in the chair. "So are you going to be going to this school dance this weekend at all or going to be sticking around here?"

Lucas seems a little troubled by that question, and he looks down at his bare feet. "No. Ah need to…" He shrugs, "Ah should prolly figure out what Ah'm doin' with my life first."

"Ever thought about going to music school? You're really talented Lucas." Robyn says. "And you're not half as annoying or stuck up as that Mason Steele guy whose here." He says with an eyeroll. "

Lucas laughs that off, "Ah wanted to be a marine biologist. Is that gay?" He tilts his head, laughing again, "Sorry. Ah meant, like, stupid not… you know… sorry…" He laughs again, "But… Ah did a lot of soul searchin' while Ah was gone." He purses his lips a moment, and gets a little more serious. "Ah went to see Coyote's folks…"

Robyn playfully punches Lucas in the shoulder and shakes his head. "That was for the gay comment." Then he punches him playfully again. "And that's for thinking it's lame to do what you want to do. Do you still want to be a marine biologist?" He asks Lucas before taking a deep breath. "How did seeing her parents go?"

Lucas smiles a little, nodding at the punches. "Ah dunnow if Ah do or not. Ah mean, yeah, but, is that what Ah SHOULD do?" He sighs, and stands, pacing a little, "Ah didn't tell them it was me. Ah told them Ah was there when she died, Ah couldn't…" He shakes his head, "They've had a year to deal with things, they didn't need to drudge it back up in their face. But… Ah had to see them. Ah was so fuckin'… Ah dunnow." He furrows his brow, stopping his pace, looking at Robyn. "Lost maybe? It was the first thing Ah done after maw passed. A flight to Frisco so track them down."

"What you /should/ do is what you want Lucas." Robyn says as he pokes Lucas in the chest where his heart would be. "You should do what this tells you to do. That's the only way you'll be happy is by being yourself and doing what you think feels right." He then nods at his friends words. "You have every right to feel lost Lucas but remember you have friends here and people who care about you so you're not alone."

Lucas smiles, "Ah don't know that Ah'm lost no mores, though." He inhales slowly, then exhales. "You said you ain't a superhero." He furrows his brow slightly, "Ah think Ah am."

Robyn smiles lets out a chuckle. "Then do what you think is right. If you want to be a superhero then go for the training and go for it. For me, I just felt like I was losing who I was when I focused too much on it. I've been a lot happier just focusing on my art."

"Ah get that, Ah do… Ah just…" Lucas sighs again. "Coyote's maw… She said somethin' to me…" He chews his lip a moment, recollecting. "She said, 'Knowin' she died around people who were like her, and knowin' that they're still here, doin' right by the world with what they were gifted with… That keeps her going." He shakes his head, "Ah can't pretend my hands don't do what they do. No matters how much Ah used to try."

Robyn nods to Lucas. "Do what makes you happy Lucas. Do what you feel is right. I don't ignore that I have powers, I know that I do. I've used them to help people and such and I don't think I'll ever stop doing that but I have to be an artist in all honestly. I'm not me when I'm not absorbed in some project." He admits. "Though I still feel really awful about not heading out to Africa to help Rashmi."

And again, Lucas gets uncomfortable, "Yeah," is all he offers, before picking up his guitar to move it to a stand, fidgeting with it to fill time.

"Yeah?" Robyn asks Lucas. "You're the first person who hasn't been all 'I'm glad you didn't go'. Not that I mind them saying that and I know it was really dangerous over there but I feel bad not being there for one of my best friends. Though, I probably wouldn't have been a huge help."

Lucas sighs, "Ah with you'd been there." He shrugs, "You know, Ah came back here to pack my things. Ah didn't think Ah was gonna stay. Connor ran into me, told me about Rash, so Ah went…" He thinks a moment, and then leans against the wall. "How are you and Jordan doin' with the long distance thing?"

Robyn shrugs. "It's going okay. I don't get to see him as much as I like we talk enough though but he's been real secretive about what he's been doing. It's….complicated." Robyn says as he seems like he doesn't want to get to much into it. "I'm glad you went Lucas. And I'm glad she's okay but I should be going to bed soon. I have class in the morning and I'm trying not to stay awake all night anymore."

Lucas nods, "Sure…" He clearly has something else on his mind, but isn't sharing. He stands, "Ah reckon Ah should prolly head soon too." He smiles, "Take it easy."
