We're not Cloak and Dagger

Rating: G

Xavier Mansion - Pool

A large Olympic size pool sits outside at the edge of the property over looking Breakstone Lake. The pool, always heated to the right temperature, starts at a depth of 4 feet at the shallowest end, and gradually reaches a depth of 20ft. A diving board sits at the far end of the pool. Off to the side of the shallow end, a hot tub is built into the ground for those wanting to relax. Pool chairs and tables sit along the side of the pool for those just wanting to enjoy the sunshine.

Though it's warmer than usual, it's still not the temperature most people would choose for a day of swimming. Leo, of course, is not most people. He's in the water, doing a few laps right now, working on keeping himself in shape as he tends to do. Of course, with him are all the normal sparkles that follow him around everywhere. Finally, he comes to rest at the edge of the pool, resting his head against the stone.

Seeing that the cold doesn't bother one Kenta Gilpatrick, he's outside in a t-shirt and jeans, the black dark force marks that over his arms fully visible. He's just got done with one of the music classes and after listening to that student think he can play a trumpet for thirty minutes, Kenta's in dire need of a cigarette. He's taking a long drag off of his cigaratte as he walks over to the pool area, and is a bit surprised someone's in it. He knows it's heated but most kids don't bother in the winter. He gives a nod to Leo. "How's the water?"

"Warm." Leo says, rubbing the water out of his eyes and looking up at Kenta. "Hi." He says, offering a grin. He doesn't know who Kenta is, of course, having not met the man, but he's most likely seen him around campus. "Just had to work off a little energy."

Kenta finds a seat and sits down with a grin. "I just had to work of a headache of someone thinking they knew how to play the trumpet." He says with a chuckle. "I'm Kenta Gilpatrick, the music teacher here. I don't think we've met yet, but then I don't always stick around the school." Being a single parent he also has his son that he has to get home to at night.

"Headache?" Leo asks. "I might be able to help with that." He offers. "Oh, I'm Leo Osborne." He says with a grin, extending a hand but staying in the water. It's cold out there, after all. "Never did much with music. Always been more in line with gymnastics."

"I think I'll be fine, just more of one of those headaches after listening to something annoying for a bit. After a cigarette I'll be fine." Kenta says running a hand through his hair. "Gymnastics, can't say that's ever been my thing, but then music was always the main love of my life. So hows it that you'd be able to help with a headache?"

"Oh, my sparkles tend to make people feel better." Leo says with a grin. "Well, that and most of them say they feel like they drank a cup or two of coffee." He wrinkles his nose with a chuckle.

Kenta raises an eyebrow and chuckles himself. "Your sparkles tend to make people feel better? Well..I guess that's a new on one me. I thought the kid who constantly oozed healing goo was a strange one." Kenta says shaking his head. "So are you healer?" He asks curiously.

"Nah. Just happen to have that too. Eddie says it's Living Light or something like that." Leo says with a bit of a shrug. "I just know I sparkle, make light balls, and I'm stronger than I used to be." Of course, he HAS only been here a short time.

"Living light, I don't know too much about it except that it's the oposite of my powers." Kenta says as he's never actually come across it before. "Oh yeah, Eddie…that's right he was sayin' something about you cause of my powers. I don't really know exactly what he wanted but maybe cause we're oposites or something."

"OH! That's you!" Leo says with a grin. "He seems to know everything written about powers." He laughs, shrugging. "Though I know he said mine was also a rare one." He shrugs lightly. "I just know it makes me glow. My roommate hates it."

Kenta laughs and shrugs. "Honestly, I don't know what I'm supposed to help you with, because I know how to use my power I never really bothered learning that much beyond it's from another dimension. Music was always more important to me." He says putting his cigarette out with his foot as he drops it to the ground. "Then why not ask for a new roomate, I'm sure there's someone out there who doesn't mind sharing a room with you, Sparkles."

"Cause it doesn't really bother me all that much. I was being nice but got tired of sleeping on couches and by the lake. I figure, if he wants me out of there, HE can say something." Leo says with a wrinklednosegrin. "That and, he got here at the same time I did. So, why me?"

"I know how that is, I actually went through three roomates while I was a student here, Brian was the best of the three." Kenta states and runs a hand through his hair. "I actually miss being a student here a lot, less responsiblity and I hear ya. It's just as much your room as it is his, and I know not everyone can control their power at first, trust me."

"Who knows if I'll ever turn the sparkling off. It's worse though, when I get overcharged." Leo says with a nod. "I explode with light. Eddie, Dai, and Pallaton didn't get away in time when I overcharged last time." He explains, grinning.

Kenta raises up his arms and also points to one of his eyes at the same time. "Hey, this is all Dark Force, I can't turn it off either and it's been like this for years. At least I don't have to deal with being overcharged but when my powers first manifested there were a few accidents." Kenta had absoloutly no control and the Dark Force would build up until it would just cover him in a cloud. "Exploded with three people around? Did anyone get hurt?"

"No, they just got stunned for a few minutes. Came out of it healed and hyper." Leo chuckles. "It's like… I dunno. Like my power is something meant for helping, even if it has to stop them to do it. I dunno." He shrugs, nodding as he sees the tattoos. "No needles? Just happened? I wonder if this will do like that." It happened to Dagger…

"I woudln't say it just happened, I don't know if it would have happened on its own but I was used as a test subject a while back and my powers were altered and ever since, I've looked like this." Kenta says but he really doesn't care that he looks like that, at least it can pass of as contacts and tattoos. "So I don't know if you'll become glowy in the sense that I am like this, and the fact that you heal and energize people makes sense since my power can drain people of their energy and transfer to me.

"Dunno. I know that that chick that has powers close to mine has marks that the light put on her, but eh. Who knows?" Leo says with a shrug. "Course, they can't be tracked down to talk to very often, so I have no idea where she is." He shrugs again and ouches. "Test subject. That sucks."

"Yeah, I was a horrible student when it came to my powers, I didn't research shit about anyone with similar powers." Kenta says with a chuckle taking out another cigarette and lighting. "If my smoking bothers you let me know and I'll put it out, but I know the names, Cloak and Dagger since he has Dark Force as well but it sounds a lot freakier than what I use."

"Yeah, that's them." Leo says with a nod. "Nah, doesn't bother me. My body has a small regenerating factor. I doubt cancer or anything would stick." He chuckles, nodding. "From what I've heard from the files they have on them here, they seem to be symbiotic to each other. Powerwise. I dunno. Everything's so different." Those two are, anyway.

"Powers work differently for everyone Leo. I mean mine have been altered from what they were orginally so who knows." Kenta says with a shrugh as he continues to smoke. "I can't regenerate or anything, well I can by absorbing the life force of others but I've been smoking a long time so it'll probably be these things that'll kill me."

"Well, I could always offer a little regeneration from time to time to help." Leo chuckles, leaning back in the water again to duck his hair under. After all, cold hair isn't nice. Heated pool water is.

Kenta chuckles. "Well if I need it, I'll let you know, unless you me regeneration from my killing my lungs, why not." Kenta is one of those people that knows smoking is bad and has tried quitting several times but he always finds himself going back to the cancer sticks.

"Coo." Leo nods quickly as he gets out of the pool grabbing his towel. "I need to dry off and find something to eat." He says with a grin. "Nice ta meetcha."

Kenta nods and inhales on his cigarette. "Nice to meet you to Leo, take care. I'm gonna relax out here for a bit before my next class starts." He gives Leo a wave as he rests back and just enjoys his smoke.
