NYC - Central Park
Central Park is a large public park in upper Manhattan, largest areas of green with people reading, having a picnic, or playing Frisbee. Walking paths can be found all around the park. In-between the large area's of grass, the park is shadier with many trees. A large road circles the park where joggers, bicyclists, and inline skaters are commonly found.
It's the middle of the afternoon and many people are out enjoying Central Park. From dog walkers, joggers and musicians to tourists, artists and food vendors. Jeremy doesn't really fit into any of those categories today as he's just sitting on a bench smoking a cigarette at the moment. Even though it's a warm day out he's wearing jeans, a long sleeved t-shirt and gloves, it just helps with his powers. He's reflecting on thing that have happened here and Jeremy has an intent stare on his face as he looks at Bethesda Fountain.
Certain others are wearing concealing clothes as well, Johnny is wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up to keep people from seeing his face and the girls going ballistic. Good thing he doesn't have to worry about sweat. He's just out for a walk, enjoying the day. With his baby blues hidden behind a pair of cheap silver plastic rimmed shades, he's blending very well into the crowd, glad for a little peace and quiet. Screaming girls and fans are great most of the time, but they tend to give migraines after a while. He stops at the fountain across from Jeremy, and digs in his pocket for a few coins. You never know.
Caleb is bored, so figured he'd head into the city and catch up with some friends, Jace lives just across from central park, so he's cutting though to save some time, he's dressed in dark blue jeans, black air walk trainers, a white, black and purple checkered shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his white hair is gelled in casual spikes and his violet eyes are glowing faintly as is the yellow stone on the silver wristband on his right wrist, he has his earphones in and is listening to "Take it off" by Ke$ha as he cuts past the fountain.
The white hair of his roommate is a hard thing for Jeremy to miss so when Caleb passes by Jeremy offers a wave and calls out. "Hey Caleb, what are you doing out here?" He asks as he takes a drag from his cigarette. Sure he's not quite eighteen yet but there are dozens of ways to get cigarettes in New York city if you're underage. Johnny is just another guy to Jeremy, at first, but then a guy as 'covered up' as him in the summer seems a bit suspicious so as he approaches Caleb he keeps an eye o the sketchy dude, Johnny.
Turning his gaze to take in first, Jeremy… then over to Caleb, Johnny smiles to himself, but says nothing. He know how he looks, and honestly doesn't care. It might not be fashionable, but his fans will never know if things go allright. Being a celebrity sucks sometimes. Johnny sits on the edge of the fountain, and pulls a hand from his pocket, drawing designs in the water as he sits and chills. His attention is taken off the water though, watching a pretty young woman in sweats go jogging by, and he doesn't seem to notice his finger in the water is starting to steam slightly.
Caleb stops and turns when his name is called, "Oh hey Jeremy", he walks towards where his roomie is sitting, "Just heading to see a friend, what brings you here?", Johnny catches his eye for a second before he dismisses the way he's dressed, he's seen weirder people since he came to the states.
"Not to much, just needed the fresh air and as you know, you can't smoke inside Barnes." Jeremy says with a shoulder shrug. "Just visiting a place I have a lot of past in and sorting out things." Since Caleb is his roommate he's a bit more open with him. "And also that guy over there, at the fountain, seems kinda sketchy to me." He says to Caleb quietly.
Johnny jumps slightly as he beeps twice, rather loudly. Pulling his finger from the fountain where he was drawing in the water, he pulls up his hoodie sleeve and looks down at what looks like a high tech watch of sorts. "Damnit Reed.. Alright, I'm coming.." He says softly, not really trying to cover the sound of his voice, but it's hard to hear him unless you stand directly next to him. He gets off the fountain, then steps up on the edge and jumps into the air. The man ignites from within and his clothing, sunglasses and all boils away to a fine cloud of ash thay he leaves behind, soaring skyward leaving a trail of short lived flame, as he flies towards downtown. Wow.. only in New York.
Caleb grins at Jeremy, "Yeah especialy since you're not eighteen yet are you?", he sits on the bench next to Jeremy, "You secret's safe with me, can i get twos?", he looks over at the scetchy guy, "Yeah…", he doesn't get to comment further as the man bursts into flame and flies off, "Fuck, want me to follow him?"
Jeremy raises and eyebrow at Caleb and shakes his head. "Sorry, I know your my roommate and all and that you might tell on me but I'm not about to encourage you to smoke. I don't even like that I do." He admits but at least it's better than his old habit which he's been having desires to go back to since the Hound thing. "I wouldn't worry about following him, seeking out trouble isn't a good idea."
Caleb shrugs, "Fair enough mate, gotta respect your morals there", he watches as the fire guy dissappears out of view, "I guess not, and i really shouldn't use my powers in public, i wonder who that guy was?"
Morals, it's almost a joke to him. "I don't really have great morals Caleb anyway…but…living on the streets you do what you gotta do." Jeremy shrugs with a shoulder. "I dunno, some dude with fire powers and no, people don't usually like people with powers just out in the open. Who ever that guy was, he's pretty ballsy."
"Still making it though that, you gotta come out the otherside strong", Caleb can't imagine what it must've been like, "Your right there, maybe he'll be onthe news or something".
Jeremy shrugs a shoulder and finishes his cigarette. "I dunno, what about you, you ever miss being back home in Ireland?" He doesn't know much about Caleb so he figures maybe he'll find out the normal way instead of just touching him, not like he'd do that anyway. "As long as he's not bugging me, I'm cool with it."
Caleb nods, "Yeah, i miss things back home, but gotta make sacrifises to learn how to use these powers proberly", the hardest part is being seperated from his twin for so long.
"Barnes is pretty much my home so I can't really relate to that as much." Sure Jeremy can but he doesn't want to admit that as he hasn't seen his family in years. "I don't know if my powers really need to be learned how to be controlled though I did some weird stuff with them when I was a hound."
Caleb nods, "What sort of weird things?", the whole Ahab/Hound thing was pretty weird, apparently he was one in the future, he saw part of it that night, but he's not sure if it was real or a dream anymore.
Unlike with Caleb, Jeremy was hounded in the present so he has the memories of being a hound that aren't just from the future as it actually did happen to him. "Umm…I could share my memories with people. It's weird. Anyway I gotta head back to Barnes, I'll let you get on to visit you friend. See ya later Caleb." Jeremy says as he goes to head off.
Caleb nods, "That does sound weird", he stands up as Jeremy goes to leave, "Yeah, well i'll see you back at the room later i guess, nice seeing you outside school, bye", he gives a wave and continues walking to Jace's house.
