Xavier Mansion - Quad

There is a square side walk of pavement with a nice grassy area in the middle with a few stone benches and trees along the corners. The pavement leads to the paths to the grounds of the school, the Dining Hall in Xavier's and the Ramsey Dormitories. It's not particularly large but it's a nice place for students and teachers to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Zack it's been a few days of the school year (If he's checked his calender right!) Zack has spent some money on some new clothing, wanting to at least be pretty decent, and he walking from class. Bag over his sholder, and he'll settle in the quad. Ugh, he forgot that High School was such a pain, though it is his first full year at Xavier's now. Big smile on his face as he'll settle for lunch on the quad, taking out his bag and openining it up. Removing the sandwhich inside as he'll people watch for a little bit.

Kisha has herself new clothing too! Although in her case it's near identical to the last lot, several items of which went up in smoke during a furious last burst of work before school resumed. Lunch brings a suitable time to resume work on her latest little device, which is why she's got a portable soldering iron (or something which carries out the same function at least). Of course no-one seems to have explained to her that it's safest if you sit down /before/ you start work….

Theo's computer is tucked in his backpack, but his handheld is out and active. He's dressing in a much more stylish manner this year, himself. Then again, he's spent all summer making the big bucks at Stark Enterprises. He's just finished class, but instead of working on lunch, he's working on the next class. He drops his backpack to the ground, and lays down on the grass. "Zack, Kisha," he says in greeting simply. "Liking your classes?"

Zack looks up from his sandwhich to see..well someone soldering while they're waking and he tiltsh is head, "Yesh…hey you wanna sit down and have lunch before you put a hole in your clothing? Most people wait ya know, when they're sedetary before they start with the hot metal." the big teen says and he takes a bite of his sandwhich. He licks his lips a small bit, and he waves at Theo, "Oh hey Theo, yathey're good. I'm liking em…just like high school really."

"Time stops for very few people. So there are only a limited number of hours in the day in which to work," Kisha points out, glancing up only when her name is called. "Classes… They're much as I expected. The only one which I expect to have value for me is power control. Everything else comes out of a text book and given that most of the books are digital now." She shrugs. "Nothing I can't later learn if I feel the need using a simple smart search program." She glances Zacks way and as an afterthought adds "Burnt holes are why I buy identical items in bulk."

"It's better to know something than look it up," Theo answers, Kisha, still looking at his handheld, laying on his back in the grass. "But yeah, power control is pretty handy. My goal is to be able to control at least three things at once by the end of the semester. And you should buy a thick smock, and just wear it if you're gonna walk around burning holes in your clothes, that way you can save money."
Zack hmmms a small bit, "Well come on Chica, then at least and sit and have lunch with some of your classmates, that's a good thing to do, sit and…talk" he smiles and offers a thumbs up to try and encourage here to come over and have a sit, on the bench, or on the grass of the quad.

Theo laughs, and puts down his handheld for a moment. "Seriously? You gotta loosen up. I'm all about thinking logically, but that doesn't mean you have to exclude the rest of life. When you're ninety, you wanna look back on your life and say "Well, I figured a lot of stuff out?" Zack's right, you should put multi-tasking at the top of your list of things to learn, sit and chill a while."

Zack hmms, "Would seem rather dull if you hire people to do your talking, how you gonna keep up with friends and us cool people, like your classmates!" he laughs again and takes another bite of sandwhich…it is a rather big sandwhich nd he just sorta licks his lips to get the extra off of his lips.

Kisha blinks a few times. "I could build a cellular regenerator and effectively live /forever/. It's actually on my to do list, along with my space program. As for loosening up… I'm not sure it's possible given the way my brain is wired. But it's not really a major concern as I'm fairly sure I'm yet to be considered anyones friend. Everyone I previously would have counted are of my brothers viewpoint, which is less than flattering."

Theo simply stares up at Kisha from his position on the grass. "Okay. Stop there. You and I have more than half our classes together. You can't use the excuse you were 'wired' that way. You're the only person in those classes that can work on the same level that I can, and even better at some of them (which I intend to remedy). Nobody lives forever, and even if you could, it sounds like you'd have a life not really worth living. You need to spend time with your family and make friends while you still got the option." His tone is almost accusatory. "Look at Zack, he's not nearly as smart as me, but he seems to have a pretty good life here still." Nothing like a backhanded compliment.

Zack takes another bite of sandwhich, and he rolls his eyes at Theo…fine he can talk to Kisha then, if he wants to play it that way, he's just gonna sit here and eat his sandwhich…and he does, taking a bag of chips out now as wel as the hulking teen just casually eats lunch and let's the two techheads go at it.

Kisha solders a few more bits in place, then holds her project up to catch the light better. "There is only one member of my family in the country who doesn't want me dead. Unfortunately he's so intimidated by the way I can do, without effort, everything he's spent his life struggling to do. As you might guess this makes for an awkward home life. All things considered I think the option was never going to be there. As for living forever I never made any such claims, but I do intend to become postphysical at some stage."

Theo glances over at Zack, oblivious to the fact that he just said something offensive to him. "Okay. Zack, we're gonna have to fix this. When I figure out how to trump the grounding that Frost put on me, we are so going to take Kisha out and show her how to party." He sits up and looks back at the girl. "Kisha, you don't get to object. If you plan to give yourself a super-extended existence, you'll have plenty of time to take a night off."

Zack takes another bite of his sandwhich, "uh…party man? I'm only 15 dude I cant get into any clubs or anything…" he finishes his sandwhic and takes the napkin to whipe his mouth and has another sip of his protine drink. wetting his lips, "But you do need to make friends, I mean, you're inthis school, it'sp retty easy to make friends, just look to your classmates first, or mabey your room mate?"

"I.D. is remarkably easy to fake and thus easy to buy. And with your build it wouldn't even need to be especially convincing," Kisha points out casually. "It's a shame I left all my fake documents with my brother. Although I suspect they would have been discovered given the number of mind readers around, plus all the gossip." Evidently something she's seen is not up to standard as the petite teen glares at her project for a moment. "I'm not an expert, but I think my room mate is scared of me. Something about sleeping with circuit boards or the seventy two hour non-stop worth of work I pulled no doubt."

"See, all the more reason go get out," Theo says. "We'll hit Coney Island or something. You'll have a blast, I promise. You just have to give it a shot." He gets back to his feet. "It's time for me to get going, I want to finish one of my midterm papers so I don't have to think about it anymore. I'll see you two later."

Zack nods, "Ya I suppose so, lunch is over." he stands up and he makes sure all of his trash is in one bag before he'll toss it away, and giving a shake of his head, "It's not hard chica, really, we're all scary in our own way, we mostly accept it" he grins

"You both seem to assume like this mutation wasn't a recent change," Kisha points out with a weary sigh. "I am familiar with having friends and going out places. They're just not things which really matter as much to me with my ability the way it is right now. My head barely has room for remembering to eat and sleep, let alone anything about other people. No doubt I'll see you both around at some point later then. Have a productive day."
